The best restaurants serving Chinese food in East Hertfordshire East of England

AMAZING— We drove two hours from our home to get here and had a fantastic meal. Absolutely worth it! Not sure when we’ll be back, but this is definitely bookmarked as our favorite restaurant.

I've ordered noodles and chicken satay. Unfortunately, chicken was raw, like half of the portion was literally raw!!! How you can not cook it for a bit longer?! It's a crime to serve half raw poultry!

Came in here and found the service not very helpful and like they were rushing us throughout the meal . Food ok but nothing special

As a Chinese, I need to say the food is horrendous. They are not proper Chinese food, it is an insult to Chinese people

This newly reopened Chinese takeaway in Hertford is highly recommended. We were very sorry to see it go earlier this year, but the reincarnation is even better. The menu has been brought more up-to-date. With some spicier dishes included. The portions are excellent and the ingredients high-quality. Don’t hesitate to give it a try.

Always go to this Chinese in Bishops Stortford. Love dining in, the staff are attentive and the food is always great! The buffet is a great price for how much food you can get, also always piping hot! We also have had takeaways from here and they’ve always been very hot and tasty!

Never will order from them again it disgusting a waste of £36.. the beef friend rices tasted funcky and the beef was chewy. The chips had been cooked again and the pancake roll I orderd came as mini spring rolls and beef curry was disgusting and chicken ball was dry n chewy

they offer a vast range of vegan options which I was pleasantly surprised to find out. I ordered the Stir Fried Vegan Prawn in Szechuan sauce and Vegan Crispy Aromatic Duck. the prawns were good (albeit slightly under-salted) but the duck was especially delicious with the sauce 🤤

We have been using Golden City (formerly Zens) for more than 20 years. We have always taken for granted that it is a consistently high quality and great value takeaway for my wife and myself (we tend to order the same range of dishes each time), but recently we had eight firends and family over for an evening and we gave everyone a choice of order. All of our guests had high praise for their food so I thought that a top review for Golden City was long overdue.
