Golden City in East Hertfordshire

Wish we’d read the reviews before ordering! Disgusting!!!! Unfortunately Peking Palace was closed today being a Sunday and Golden city had been leaflet dropping our area recently clearly they need business because the locals obviously avoid this place. Lemon chicken tough dry and disgusting crab meat and sweetcorn soup disgusting no other words Chicken and sweetcorn soup, Runny with massive chunks of chicken totally disgusting Sweet-and-sour pork balls look like they’ve been cooked three times before they were cooked for us hard in edible Chicken chow mein, tasteless and also disgusting Prawn crackers well done something you can eat The worst Chinese I’ve ever eaten I kept trying to press no stars, but it wouldn’t allow me

We have been using Golden City (formerly Zens) for more than 20 years. We have always taken for granted that it is a consistently high quality and great value takeaway for my wife and myself (we tend to order the same range of dishes each time), but recently we had eight firends and family over for an evening and we gave everyone a choice of order. All of our guests had high praise for their food so I thought that a top review for Golden City was long overdue.

Had a takeaway for my dads 80th birthday (was originally going out for a meal else where, but my mum had a fall so couldn’t) my parents live in roydon so when we got the food out and started eating it was too far to go back, it was I think yesterday’s reheated, it was absolutely terrible and it cost £90 I rang when I got back home to Hertfordshire just to let them know how bad it was and not eaten a sorry. I didn’t want anything back from them just a sorry Would never eat there again and it was also overpriced. Think before using them

The food from here is always delicious and piping hot when I get home. It is my favorite Chinese takeaway. Staff are always lovely too

I’ve rated this Chinese 1 out of 5 only because it wouldn’t let me put 0. The food was terrible and I’ll never return or recommend it, honestly feeling ill after eating the below average food.
