Collected takeaway from Dawn’s 20/1/24. Food and service excellent and on time. We’ve never been disappointed with anything from here!

Staff/ customer service - After my two neurodiversed children in there who were over stimulated and was struggling the staf were understanding and supportive as they saw I was begging stressed very patients. Timing/delivery- I was asked what time I would like my delivery and I asked for half another so gives me time to get home and considering the traffic is awful in bishops Stortford I would say delivery was 35mins, the delivery driver was lovely and chatty. Food- good portion size (£28) fed 1 adult and three children (teens) very good value for money, and food tasted amazing This is my second time ordering and have had the same experience twice

Order placed at 7:30pm 60min delivery - allied at 9:00pm to see where it was and “ticket hadn’t printed” so now waiting another 30mins as to late to order from anywhere else! Let’s see if it comes - second time it’s happened gave them the benefit of the doubt - won’t be doing that again!!

Ordering was really simple, delivery arrived promptly, friendly staff, food as good or better than any other we have tried in Stortford and good value. Will defintely use again.

I ordered a takeaway online from here for the first time. I was told it would be a 90 minute wait. I had to ring and chase the order after 1 hour 45 minutes and was told they were busy. It was eventually delivered after 2 hours and 20 minutes. I was still charged the full amount. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

London Chef's Verdict - Possibly the Best Chinese Takeaway in Hertfordshire & Essex I have worked at the Grosvenor House Hotel, ran a section at the BBC and run a Game restaurant in Buckinghamshire to name just three of my jobs. Don't believe the fake 1 star reviews. Having been a chef since the Internet started, and having ordered from here about 20 times, I think I can tell a fake review when I see one. If the competition has to resort to leaving nasty reviews then that shows how desperate they are and some of the reviews don't even make sense such as the one which says they ordered 3 times and they were always late and terrible; as a chef you might get away with a second chance but not 3 times!! Customers wouldn't keep coming back if it was that bad. They have gone over the top in their fake reviews. Having identified this review as obviously fake and lies as this restaurant has scored 5 Stars for me every time I've ordered, shows how worried they are that if enough people try the food from this place it would probably put their takeaway out of business, and that's for a very good reason, consistent quality so I think its safe to disregard all the other 1 Star reviews as possibly the same competitor influencing the reviews. They bear no comparison to the exceptional standards and piping hot food. Everything about this place from the food to the menu selection and polite and speedy deliveries is as good as it gets. They are so helpful they wil even drop off groceries from their attached mini supermarket. The menus vegetarian selection is one of the best we've ever tried and is probably one of the reasons the competition is so scared. If you have a veggie in your family or just like to experiment, then their selection is unsurpassed and unique. The veggie duck pancakes, capital spare ribs and satay chicken are virtually indistinguishable from meat and actually taste as good, if not better. My only criticism would be that the vegetarian section on the menu could be a little clearer as it wasn't until I'd ordered a few times that I realised just how broad a range of a veggie selection they've got. If they are not too busy they are always happy to go off-menu and swap sauces around, or cok something to your spec which is great service. I never knew veggie food could be like this but everything on the menu is equally exceptional. Unlike other Chineses' the sauces are always cooked fresh. As a chef I can tell they have been served from a Bain-Marie instead of being microwaved from the fridge. It's such a shame that apparent lies from the terrified competition have affected the score of this establishment. They should be at the top. Bishops Stortford is missing out. Whoever is writing these poison pen letters is preventing more people in Stortford from experiencing food at the next level of quality and diversity. Keep up the good work guys.

Had a takeaway from Dawn’s this evening and it was fantastic. Arrived in under an hour (said it would take 65 mins) arrived really hot and fresh. Everything tasted great and the portions are generous. Ordered on the app too which was really easy and quick. Would highly recommend!

Kept meaning to write a review and forgetting!! Have a takeaway from here most weeks, first time I’ve actually read the reviews!!!! OMG!! Guessing this is jealous people maybe? It’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and slate a business!! We all love this Chinese and travel a bit further to get it! Lovely food, polite staff, I would highly recommend. 2 hour wait when I phoned their excuse was they are busy terrible food and service long waiting time restaurant not wrth waiting for

I have now ordered food from Dawn's Gardens a total of 3 times via the online ordering system (which the only decent thing about Dawn's Gardens) All 3 times, I have had to ring up to chase the order due to being 20+ minutes late. All 3 times, their excuse has been 'we are very busy' etc., which to me suggests poor management/organisation. All other Chinese takeaways do tend to say upfront if there is going to be a delay, so not sure why Dawn's is so hell-bent on giving out delivery times there are incapable of sticking to. The food isn't worth the necessary waiting, ringing and chasing. Honestly don't bother, go elsewhere.

The best Chinese around very good value for money the pots of noodles are bursting, so fresh and hot always.
