The best restaurants serving British food in South Wales

Changed names to ‘Dolce Vita’ now and the place has been refurbished, looks really good. Found the food quite bland, didn’t seem to use any seasoning? Everyone thought the same at the dinner table.

Just perfection pub grub environment. Great food reasonably priced.

This restaurant was a very nice place to come out. We drove from Glyncorrwg for my 20th birthday dinner, the portion sizes were gigantic! Food was great.

Went for Pie and a pint , which was very good

Went for my birthday today which we have been doing for many years. Never disappointed. Food, service, ambience always excellent. Darren and his staff are attentive but not intrusive. We always acknowledge the chefs on our way out which they appreciate. If you haven’t been you must it is a lovely community based bistro.

Went there yesterday and very busy but the young staff members were amazing. Beautifully polite and apologetic for the wait. The food was amazing and the large chips was massive. This is the best chip shop in porthcawl. Keep up the amazing work with producing wonderful food.

Lovely food at a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff and very accommodating. Dog friendly. Have been here a couple of times and will definitely enjoy going there again when we visit our daughter who lives nearby. Sad to say this little gem has now closed down and up for sale 😢 Areal shame for traditional pubs with proper food.

Brilliant chip shop, staff always so friendly, it’s often busy but they handle the queues well (it’s worth waiting!), great portion sizes and value for money! Our go to fish and chip shop, always!

Ordered the silion steak along with three orthers, second worst steak I've ever had. All steaks were at least 3/4 fat. Peppercorn sauce wasn't good either. Left there hungry and had toast when I got home...

Awesome but never open on a Sunday anymore

Popped in for lunch, had never been there before. The young bar maid was very friendly. She was very prompt in taking our food order and even gave recommendations. When the food arrived, it was hot and very well presented, and tasted great.

Visiting the city for short break and found this very good pub in a quiet part of the city. Called in on Sunday for late lunch and went again on Monday and Tuesday. Very good food and staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Very good selection of beer and wine.

Most delicious vegan breakfast ever! Super friendly, always a warm welcome and great value 😊
