Louchi's Tearoom in Bridgend

We had a brilliant afternoon tea for 7, the food was excellent as were the service and cakes especially. Nothing too much trouble.

I was incredibly impressed with the service, quality and quantity of the Afternoon Tea our family were served. It was the largest Afternoon Tea I have ever seen which included: any two sandwiches, a scone, a giant slab of cake, a cupcake & unlimited tea! I have had something similar in a few establishments and can honestly say this was the very best. And even the children were accommodated with a plethora of options which kept them included & happy .

My family came here for breakfast and the experience was wonderful. That staff can't do enough for you, and the food tasted fantastic and we didn't have to wait that long for the cooking process. We are 100% coming back to this cafe, as it was overall a very positive experience.

Visited here today to meet a friend. As previous reviewer mentioned, great to find a Tea Room open on a Monday too! We are funny folk about bread thickness & our sandwiches were freshly cut as we prefer them slightly thinner. ( Real Loafs 🍞 not pre sliced) Fillings of Tuna/Red onion & Chesse/Onion were both plentiful, also many other variates available. Probably the nicest sandwiches to date.🥪. The waitress was particularly polite, helpful & very efficient. Everywhere was clean, nice decor with a happy feel & excellent value for quality produce. Well worth a visit or ring & collect as take away orders are welcome which are particularly good for the beach, parks, events etc.

We found this coffee shop on Monday by accident as Trip advisor says it is not open on a Monday. So glad we did. Great value for money and friendly staff. We had sandwiches and cake and the slice of cake was huge. Would definitely recommend this as a great place to eat

An old school friend and I have travelled South Wales since retirement visiting over 400 cafes for breakfast. After several visits to Maesteg we came to Louchi’s. On entering we were pleasantly surprised at the decor. The counter display of cakes was indeed impressive and certainly tempting. However, our purpose was to have a breakfast. We ordered a large breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, black pudding, hash brown, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, 2 slices of granary toast. This was really good value at £6.50. There was a good selection of hot drinks. The food was freshly prepared and arrived after a short wait. Very tasty and we both enjoyed. Staff very friendly and added to the experience. Will definitely go back this time to sample cakes.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea with friends. The portions served are massive and the variety of cakes are delicious. Couldn’t fault the waitress as she made sure our tea pots were constantly topped up. If you are expecting a large range of tiny servings, this isn’t the place for you but if you’re happy with delicious sandwiches, a huge slice of cake, a pretty cupcake and a lovely scone - you’ll love it! (By the way, no-one in our group could finish what was served so we were delighted to be presented with a little box to take home a treat for later!)

Lots of sandwiches but nothing to write home about. Very basic and cheaply made. The chicken was out of a packet for sure and didn't taste fresh at all. Cakes were lovely. Very pretty Scones... already made up and sandwiched together. Thought this was a little odd..there's always that great debate cream or jam first? It was impossible to eat them in their sandwiched form as there was way too much cream. Staff were lovely and friendly but we did wait around 40 minutes for our afternoon tea to arrive. May seem petty to some, but if you love a good afternoon tea (a posh one) then I wouldn't say this was the one.

Came here with my mother and sister for high Tea, the whole experience was outstanding. We were welcomed and seated in a beautiful quaint Tea room, the staff were very friendly, approachable and professional. The high Tea... wow... the sandwiches were made fresh and were beautiful with a great selection, we had Tuna and Red onion, Cheese and Cucumber, Bbq chicken Ham salad and Beef and tomatoe, there were also more options. All the sandwiches were beautiful with ample filling, delicious. The scones were obviously freshly made and were served with just the right amount of Jam and Cream. There were a selection of Tea available and I enjoyed an Earl Grey, delicious. Nothing was too much for the staff who also provided boxes for us to take and leftovers away with us, we had 3 cupcakes and three generous helpings of cake to take home with us. While enjoying our food there were many walk in customers collecting cakes they had ordered and we were all in awe watching the masterpieces that had been created, will definitely be ordering a cake from here and will definitely be returning.

Love this place. The food and the service is amazing. The breakfast is one of the best breakfasts in Wales, the lunches are excellent quality and value, paninis served with salad, coleslaw and crisps, and the afternoon tea is absolutely amazing. Keep it up guys. We love you.

Popped into Louchi’s for high tea, greeted by really friendly staff. Got to choose our own sandwiches which was lovely and the food itself was lush- especially the size of the cakes! Bread was really nice too, potions were huge so we ended up taking the cakes home (as well as buying more cupcakes haha). Will absolutely be returning for the great value afternoon tea and customer service. Big thanks to the staff, you’ve made our holiday 😊

Bought cupcakes for birthday treat. 12 in box. Not so fluffy and nice since business been taken over and more expensive

Booked high tea here for my mother's birthday. Asked if I could bring birthday banner beforehand to put up which they said they would do. Arrived to find the table we were on was dirty and full of cutlery. Had to wait for it to be cleared. No banner had been put up, and when I asked where it was, I was told they were understaffed. That is not the customers fault. The food was Lovely, but at no time did any member of staff come over and ask if everything was ok. Had to ask for knives to cut the cakes as they were quite large. They said the tea was unlimited which was fine, but again I had to keep asking for things. Went to pay for the bill and asked if I could have the banner back, to which they couldn't find it, and only when I looked with the girl it had been pushed to the back of the drawer. We left with no goodbye or thank you from any of the staff , and to be honest, spoilt the whole experience.

It’s brilliant here. Staff are very friendly. Child friendly too. Nothing too much trouble. Will return soon.

We had a lovely first time visit to Louchi's. The afternoon tea was very special and everything was home made. This makes such a difference and feels like you are getting something for your money. There was plenty to eat, and even had some left over which we could take home in a box. To add to the delight .... the prices were so reasonable, and makes the experience even more enjoyable !!! ... Don't change this is fantastic :)

We went to Louchi's for a leaving celebration and I have to say it was amazing, service was fab, the cakes are out of this world, sandwiches are fantastic, I have already booked for another occasion.

Went here for a high tea for part of my daughters 21st. What and amazing time we had unlimited pots of tea and so many different sandwiches and cakes all made to perfection. Lovely staff and beautifully decorated will definitely be going again.

I was recommended this place after asking for suggestions where to go afternoon tea, so pleased I was told of this hidden gem, only 20 min from Neath but felt we were hours away, excellent food, from the sandwiches to the cakes, wow, I’ve been to a few well named in Swansea but this is by far the best, amazing service so down to earth, can’t wait to go back, thank you

My mother and I called in here while looking for a chip shop and I’d read a few reviews ages ago and thought we’d give it a try.Firstly they were fully booked with high tea reservations but this didn’t stop a bit of good business sense and they soon fitted us in.We ordered two omlettes with cheese, which came with a side salad and coleslaw.The food arrived and it looked and smelled divine. The omelette was the most light and fluffy one I have ever eaten and I aspire to learn how to do that! The cheese could be tasted without overpowering.The salad was fresh too but I personally would have preferred a different type of lettuce but that is personal preference only and no reflection on the dish.With soft drinks the bill was £9. Absolutely amazing, we will return.Thanks

The loveliest tearooms ever. Great welcoming staff. Jacket potato with corned beef and onion perfect. Cheese potato wow as well. Lots of lovely cakes. Small tearoom ideal for family outings. Baby friendly, everyone's welcome. Sensible prices, great place to relax.

Beautiful big wedges of cake, cupcakes, scones, sandwiches of 2 different flavours (or you can have a selection), pot of tea, and crisps! This is not a delicate dainty afternoon tea, but it's a very tasty one! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have toasties, sandwiches, cakes, and special childrens meals which are presented on benches, trucks and swing sets to really impress the kids! The food is great - and the value fantastic! Free parking about a 5 minute walk away. I would recommend booking in advance however, as we went on a Tuesday around 1pm and people were being turned away who had not made reservations.

My daughter and I visited Louchi’s as an early Mothers Day present. It was a Saturday afternoon. It was extremely busy so as a two we were squashed in by the window. My daughters chair was right by the door so every time it opened, in came a draft. We weren’t even given a menu when a man descended on us with a box of Mother Day cupcakes saying look at these you need to get your orders in now (this he did to all customers). I couldn’t help but think who ever as ordered those cakes they have been in everyone’s face. We did then receive a dishevelled leaflet. We ordered afternoon tea. We were asked what do we want to drink. Then the waitress just said “a selection of sandwiches?” I said yes and off she went. I found this waitresses attitude quite arrogant with a couldn’t give a damn attitude as we were outsiders. No description of what we could have and she asked nothing about the cakes. I then noticed that to all other customers they were asked what fillings, bread etc then what cakes etc. I had to go up to the counter to say no egg sandwiches then I said to the waitress you haven’t asked me about the cakes. I then told her what I would like. The tea arrived a good while before the food. The tea was lukewarm on arrival so by the time the food came the tea and coffee were cold. The selection of sandwiches consisted of 4 ham salad and 2 cheese and raw onion. I’d say quantity over quality.

The food was amazing and the service was excellent and I would recommend it to friends and family. I will be back soon.

Came here after having a voucher for Christmas from the brother in law and his girlfriend.

Wow, what a lovely little place, we booked for about 20 of us to have afternoon tea last Saturday afternoon. It certainly exceeded my expectatations. I have only had afternoon tea in posh hotels at more than double the price and no where near as good food.

Love going here for a meet up with the girls, staff very friendly, good home cooked food, good breakfast choice and not bad prices.

For months I have been hearing about this quaint tea room in Maesteg that serves the best afternoon tea, so as a birthday celebration I booked a high tea for the family.

Visited here today with my daughter for afternoon tea and it was absolutely fantastic! The choice of sandwich fillings was so good and the bread was so fresh ...and omg the cakes were to die for ......couldn't get through it all so fetched some cakes home . The presentation price and friendly service was top notch will definitely be going again.

Came back for another afternoon tea, I've already had two before this and it was amazing yet again. Lovely choice of sandwiches - all really fresh with lovely fillings. A massive slice of cake, cupcake and scone along with crisps and tea. Also had the children's options which they loved. Will definately be back again, lovely staff and even better cakes.

After hearing nothing but good things about Luchi’s Tea rooms my friends and I decided to book a visit. Well, they did not disappoint! A small tea room but by no means cramped we were greeted by friendly welcoming staff who couldn’t do enough for us. The High Tea as they call it is only £10.99!!! This includes sandwiches of your choice, crisps, buns, cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam along with a pot of tea or coffee! The presentation of the afternoon tea is beautiful with vintage cutlery to finish it off. We really were very impressed and cannot wait to return! We did see a few reviews stating there was too much food(!) however they do provide takeaway boxes for anything that isn’t eaten. We really couldn’t be more impressed with Louchi’s and will certainly be returning soon however I would recommended booking to avoid disappointment!

Been here twice in a short period of time after hearing such good things about this place. Both times we opted for the high tea and both times didn’t disappoint- though very busy, service received by all of the staff was 1st class. A different selection of sandwiches and cakes were presented both times. The quality of the high tea proved to be top class, with the food/ desserts being fresh. I would love to see you move to a bigger tea room in the future as I believe you’d be very successful

One of the most popular tea rooms in Maesteg, good place to meet up or spoil your little ones, wife takes our two girls for treats and dress up. we have know the owners for a while and they go the extra mile.

They fitted us in last minuted for an afternoon tea. Lovely food, nice choice of fresh sandwiches, lovely selection of very tasty cakes and scones with coffee. Staff were welcoming and accommodating, anything we asked for wasn't too much trouble, very helpful. They catered for my fish and nut allergies, no problems. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed and will definitely come back and recommend to friends. Just wish they had a bigger place more central in town because it's a shame to hide them away on the outskirts

Although I have been to Louchi’s many times over the last couple of years this is my first review. I visited Louchi’s for my mother’s birthday to have high tea, as it was during half term children came too. My son has dietary needs so would not have been able to have high tea with us.

Me and my wife went here on Saturday bank holiday weekend in the afternoon, the place was very busy which is not surprising in the least, I would recommend booking although we did not due to the size of this quaint little shop. I had carrot cake and a coffee and my wife had toffee cake and a pot of tea served in china cups and pots which all came to £7.80 - very reasonable. A selection of at least half a dozen cakes all home made and quiet simply the nicest cakes we have ever had. Highly recommended.

Fantastic little vintage cafe serving a fantastic range of food, we came here on the day of the royal wedding and the place was all decked out with decorations celebrating, I would highly recommend the Afternoon Tea which was wonderful and there was a slight mix up with our sandwiches which was rectified straight away by a friendly gentleman,young girls to taking orders were ok but think this cafe would benefit if there was slightly older staff who have more experience and interacted more with customers.

Been many time before, with a group of friends feel its not as good as previous visits. Service was bad, had to ask for more tea, knives and serviettes. And it wasn't until the end we were asked if everything was ok. Also the Scones were very dry, and cakes not as nice . Should have complained on the day , but was a birthday celebration hope things improve

A small group of 5 adults and 2 toddlers decided to visit here for a birthday celebration and as it was a short notice booking we didn't expect the service we had or the food but I must say it was all incredible.

I’ve been a frequent visitor to Louchis for some time now and my 6 year old daughter absolutely loves it there. Gorgeous vintage feel. Everyone is always so pleasant and helpful nothing is ever too much trouble. My daughter always has the children’s high tea and loves to go to the counter to choose her cup cakes. Excellent value, food is always fresh and so tasty and the atmosphere is great. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Went there Saturday, terrible service, booked a table weeks ago as was a Christmas present from my daughter, and there was no table for us, we were shoved on the display table up by the counter and had to wait for ages for it to be cleared, it was rammed in there and people queuing to be seated and were virtually on top of us. Although the food was really nice we will not be returning there, very disappointed with the place.

Visited for Mother's Day afternoon tea and incurred so many issues.

I took my grandsons for breakfast and we had a good time. Breakfast was nicely served and then the boys got to sit on Faher Xmas' knee and get a gift. They really enjoyed it. What a nice event. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.

We were a party of seven and went for high tea on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! A huge choice of deep filled sandwiches were available and the cakes were to die for - so light and such a variety! We are not small eaters but still came away with plenty of left overs which were shared among our party for the following day. Excellent value for money and lovely service too! Highly recommended!

Fabulous food but very disappointing service. We booked for 1.30 & wanted a relaxing family get together for 6 people. We were completely ignored on arrival & by 3pm we were being ushered out due to party booking which was not explained to us at time of booking (wks in advance) We felt like 2nd class citizens & it spoiled what should have been a nice family reunion. Shame as the food was lovely even if they did refuse to change a cake selection (no one liked chocolate cake but we we're not asked at time of order) won't hurry back sorry.

Went here yesterday with family to celebrate a birthday. Had no idea what to expect but was impressed from the moment we arrived to time we left. The place is quaint, the staff are lovely, helpful & friendly. The high tea was impressive and servings were large. They gave us boxes to bring home what we could not eat. Myself and 2 friends had high tea at louchis,we booked in advance as advised to do by other people because it is always busy.

After looking through the menu we decided on the high tea and the children's tea, the quality and quantity of the sandwiches was unbelievable, and then your eyes go up to the cakes and scones on the upper layers of the stand. Got to say it's the best afternoon tea I've ever had it's even better than the afternoon tea in a certain 5 star hotel on the strand in London who's name starts with S and ends with Y, Louchis is well worth travelling to, writing this review 12 hours after visiting and I'm still stuffed haven't eaten since, we will be back, thank you to all the staff, a great place to visit

So I'd already visited Louchi's twice before for their high tea and was excited to bring my husband. We were not disappointed. Gorgeously fresh sandwiches with a mixture of fillings, a bowl of crisps, two scones with jam and cream, two cup cakes and two generous slices of sponge cake (one was chocolate orange cake and the other was raspberry and vanilla). Neither of us drink tea so we opted for a latte and a cappuccino which were lovely. We didn't manage to finish everything so the staff kindly gave us takeaway boxes to take the remainder of the food home. My only criticism is that the tables are very close together so if you sit on the outside of the table you get bumped into frequently. I know it cannot be helped because the shop is so petite but it wouldn't stop me coming back again and I will definitely be making a fourth visit very soon.

Pretty tea room. Delicate china crockery. Delicious high tea, mouth watering sandwiches. Fabulous variety of fantastic cakes. Plentiful boxes provided for take-away food for everything uneaten, because you are too full. Amazing value for just under £10. Highly recommended.

Took my friend here this week for a birthday high tea and what a high tea it was, beautiful setting, delicious sandwiches and cakes and scones to die for all topped off with very attentive staff and great service will def be making more than one return visit xxxx

Really pretty and cosy tea room. Gorgeous cakes and lovely freshly made sandwiches. Tea served in lovely china teapots and china cups and saucers. We opted for the high tea and we weren't disappointed. There was so much food we couldn't finish it all so the staff very kindly gave us boxes to take away what we hadn't finished. I will most definitely coming back.

I can only describe the sandwiches and cakes we had here as superb.Served by the family that own it in a very attentative manner.Dont go anywhere else for that special tea but you might want to reserve a table as it is very popular. You will not be disapointed, and if you cannot eat it all they will give you a doggy bag to take it home.

Visited for my 50th birthday as a treat from my daughter and grandaughter. Excellent value for money . Very quaint in appearance and felt in character for a tearoom .Food , cakes lovely, and excellently presented , and even catered for my granddaughter whose 4 .Would Certainly visit again.

Easy to find, pot luck on finding a space on the street as it's the main town but there are car parks near by. Lovely tea room with vintage decor. Greater by staff with a friendly lovely manner. Good choice of selection of cakes sandwiches, we had a selection of sandwiches, cakes and crisps for 3 the 1st drink was included with a good selection of hot/cold drinks. The spread was to a high standard, lovely and fresh. There was plenty to go around and even boxed some to take home. Would recommend and return

Visited last weekend with best friends and couldn't believe the standard of the Afternoon High Tea it was beautiful. Lucky I don't live in Maesteg I would be huge!! We will return. Thank you for a lovely time

Visited here as a girly birthday treat, having never been before I didn't know what to expect. Wow, lovely staff, very busy and the high tea !!! I can't praise highly enough absolutely fabulous, sandwiches were all made fresh and the cakes were beautiful I needed a doggie bag as I couldn't eat it all. Can't wait for another excuse to go!! Definitely should not be missed!!!

A small, unassuming shop front hides the loveliest of old fashioned tea rooms. Visited when with family, but even the 30 min drive did not detract from the ambiance. Chintz wall papers, china crockery together with food to die for, the cakes, say no more. Keep up the good work and standards. have seen some of the comments re being cramped for space, yes it is a bit tight but that mainly occurs if you have eaten all put before you !

Had a lovely high tea today, we were a party of 4 and would highly recommend Louchi's Tearoom every time. Service is great, I visit here regularly as they cater for gluten free and my friends and I meet up here for all the birthdays. Great value, fantastic service, what more can you ask for. Anna the owner is lovely and is very helpful. We are very lucky to have this tearoom in Maesteg, it really is the best afternoon tea around. Local produce, freshly baked cakes and their breakfasts menu is also very good. 5 stars as always, well done ☕️

Visited shop on 04/11/2016 6 of us went for afternoon tea and sarnies.Great value tea shop and would visit again.Did not give 5 stars as service was very slow, don't know why shop was quiet but everything from drinks to food took too long.

What a great little place in Maestag. Staff are so friendly. All cakes and scones are fresh. I find most places have processed cakes and scones taken from a packets. I heard about this place awhile ago and finally got to visit. Travelled from Cardiff and it was def worth the trip. We will def return to this place and I will recommend to my friends. Great value for money. Thanks again to Louchi staff for making this a great experience

This tea shop is great ,such a choice of menu .The high tea is great value for money,plenty of choice of sandwiches ,which the staff will make to order,choice of cakes (the scones are delicous you can not leave with out trying one,if you have not got room after the great meal why not take one home ,they do take out as well).Shop is very popular ,so if you intend to try ,you best to book .Staff are friendly and service is great

We took our friend to tea as she is opening a tearoom of her own in Merthyr Tydfil and was looking for ideas and she certainly got plenty. What a fabulous place and so friendly. Small but bijou! Lovely little tea room, the high tea was excellent and there was lots of it!! Lovely thick sliced sandwiches, variety of fillings which you can choose or just request a mixture. The cakes are amazing and there is as much tea as you can drink!! You need to book a table- stay on the phone, they are a busy little tearoom but they will answer! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Definitely one to try!!

I've gone to different afternoon teas including those in posh hotels and this one if by far the best! Staff are friendly and accommodating. The tea is presented amazingly and they do ones for kids which are really fun too. Lots of food, well filled sandwiches, delicious tasty cakes and all home made. Love it.

Having visited several tea rooms, my daughter and I took a trip to Maesteg fir afternoon tea at Louchis. The premises was very quaint but a little squashed. Our pit if tea arrived along with the tiered plate of sandwiches and cakes ... You are given a choice if sandwiches which was quite nice. I must say though ..... The sandwiches were far from dainty! They were big thick builders sandwiches with crusts on. The cheese and onion sandwiches contained hand cut thick sliced cheese and thickly cut onion slices .... very gloopy. The cake was OK, but again cut in big slabs and thick with buttercream. Too difficult for us to eat, and it seemed everyone left with polystyrene take away boxes with the food they were unable to eat. Such a pity really. Maybe smaller, dainty sandwiches, and lighter cakes with real cream would prevent the need for expensive take away boxes being supplied. Everything was just too thickly cut and it filled you up to the point where it put you off.

I love LouChi's! I have visited a few times over the last year but most recently in March as a hen party for my sister. LouChi's is great value for money and the freshly made to order sandwiches and delicious cakes are to die for. The portions are extremely generous and they have something for everyone. I love that the cakes and bread are baked fresh every day.On this particular visut the team were hugely accommodating, even putting little 'L-plates' on the cupcakes and getting a balloon for the occasion.Will continue to come back here time and time again.

My mother and I visited Louchi's tearoom as a friend had bought a voucher for my mothers birthday. We both had the high tea, and were so impressed! The food was delicious, and serving sizes were incredibly generous. The surrounds were quirky and cute, you could tell a lot of thought and time had gone in to decorating such a bespoke cafè! All of the staff were very friendly, and made us feel welcomed. Really lovely place, I'd recommend anyone to go and have a slice of the cake here! Can't wait to go back myself!

Fantastic birthday party today at LouChi's they also made the birthday cake and sweet cones for the children, loads of food too much to eat they so they even gave us take away boxes, definitely be booking again

I had heard great reviews of louchis and have been wanting to try for a while. I always keep an open mind when visiting new places no matter what I've heard, however this place did not disappoint!! Friendly, accommodating staff, delusions cakes and sandwiches and they go out of their way to cater your tastes, also a lovely proper cup of tea. The only complaint I could make is that the place is far too small. 6 of us were crammed around a table really made for 4.I would definitely recommend a visit to all

Well this little gem is tucked away just on the outskirts of measteg but with a try I took my friend there for her 60th Birthday treat wow fab sandwiches and cake not dainty only thing I have to say is as much tea is free but 1 cup of coffee only not even a milky one so a little confusing staff were fab and could not do enough for you but on second visit with my husband not so good we only had a sandwich its all about the high tea so if you are going just for a sanie nothing special sorry guys but wish we had the same welcome on the 1st visit welldone on your high tea though

What a neat place. Great.We arrived around 3pm in the afternoon and ordered High Tea for 3 people. Wow!!!It was great. So fresh and tasty.I even gave the cake a good nudge also but didn't quite finish my third of the 3.Top place. Thank you to the friendly staff also.

Went to louchis with my daughter and her friend today and what a lovely afternoon it was ! Once of the nicest cream teas I've had . Lovely fresh sandwiches with a variety of fillings. And the cakes where superb ! We were defeated in the challenge to eat everything but we're offered boxes to bring the remaining cakes home. I am disabled but found there was plenty of room and the seats were very comfortable for me . Staff where pleasant and helpful and the prices were very reasonable . Definitely go back !!

We visited here for Afternoon Tea on a very rainy Saturday. An absolute gem , fantastic cakes and sandwiches. Spent nearly three hours here with outstanding service from all staff. Better than the Ritz and a fifth of the price!!. Would highly recommend and definately will return. Loved it..

Beautiful tearoom, staff very friendly. This was our first visit and will not be our last. We had high tea and this was worth every penny. Beautiful memories made.

Had a family tea here today wow fantastic food!! A great choice of delicious sandwiches enough variation to suit all tastes. Then the cakes oh my God they were gorgeous from a jam and cream scone to cupcakes to slices of wonderful cakes. Not the place to go if you're on a diet.

visited Luchis on a miserable Welsh afternoon, the afternoon took a quick turn for the better with the welcome of Luchis staff and a delightful high t. the atmosphere was wonderful, with lots of chatting and laughter - a perfect place for a gathering with friends old and new. attentive staff without being intrusive and great decor. thank you!

Visited Louchis today with some work colleagues. Welcoming staff and really accomadating. Ordered high tea..sandwiches delicious and cakes beautiful.Like most customers we took a lot home.Young girls working there asked on several occasions if we were ok and if everything was alright. Constant refill of tea when needed. Definitely return..was small in the shop but was ok .Beautiful vintage decor and clean . Definitely be returning when I've got over my cake coma

What a little hidden gem in amongst the boarded up windows ! It's like the Narnia of Maesteg ! The portions are very generous and the food is delicious. Really friendly service and nicely decorated with cute tea room finishing touches. Will definitely be back.

I am absolutely in love with Louchi's Tearoom. This isn't my first visit, we had the Afternoon Tea which is brilliant value for money. I don't know what bread they use but it is the best most softest bread ever. I don't know where to start with the homemade cakes. They are huge chunks of loveliness! The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

We didn't make a reservation but they did squeeze us in and we had coffee and cake which was delicious, will definitely return.

Went for a high tea with my sister and niece. Could do enough for us staff and as always the high tea was amazing can't wait to go back

We called in here for morning coffee and decided to return for a late lunch. We had two minor concerns with our first visit: there were no menus on the table or in the window and we concluded this was a coffee/tea and cake shop only until we spotted a pile on a table near the back. Why not one on each table? I had asked for a decaf latte and was about to drink it when the waitress came back to say that due to a miscommunication, it was a caffeinated latte and she offered to change it. Despite these issues, we said we'd probably come back and asked what time they closed. She asked if we wanted to make a reservation and since we didn't know exactly when we'd get back and thought it would be well after any lunchtime rush, said we'd just see what was available at the time. Big mistake! When we got back at about 2.45 pm, the cafe was full and we were told it would be quite a while before there was a table free. Fortunately, a local family of four were willing to allow us to share their table for 6We had toasted sandwiches with salad garnish and a fresh cream and jam scone. All the food was excellent. We looked at what others were eating and most popular was what the cafe called "high tea" - just a name for a cake stand with a variety of sandwiches, two cakes and a fresh cream scone per person. It was clearly very popular, well presented and looking at the menu, good value. Service was a little patchy, but the cafe was so full it was hard to be critical and any slowness was quickly solved if we asked a waitress.Well worth a visit, but go with a big appetite and make a reservation!

I've had the pleasure of going for high tea twice here , once for Mothers Day and once as a guest at a birthday tea and quite simply it's Devine. The scones are as light as a feather , sandwiches so tasty and the cakes are to die for all served in mismatched China What a little gem of a place , best high tea around by a mile. Can't wait to return.

Really enjoyed my high tea today the staff were really helpful and I received a warm welcome . my daughter and I will definitely be back next time I will book in advance it would be lovely for mothers day xx

This is an absolutely fabulous little place to go for breakfast, lunch and tea. Cakes are to die for from cup cakes to large slices of homemade sponges. And they even make birthday cakes!! The staff are so friendly and helpful and service is definitely with a smile. They also cater for people with special diets and allergies. Would definitely recommend a visit there and will be returning soon for their huge high tea.

Absolutely love Lou Chis. Hannah and her staff make it a very warm and enviting place to go. High tea is exceptional quality and value for money. I come here time and time again and there isn't anything quite like it.

Just come home from The Best , high tea in the warmest friendliest , best service tearoom that I've visited. Been locally in Bridgend, 5 Star Birmingham City Centre Hotel,Cheltenham and Bristol, they couldn't complete with fabulous quality , spotless and very good value. Great flavoured tea, home baked cake and scones, fresh , tasty sandwiches. Portions large, you have been warned, no worries mind you are encouraged to take them home and keep the enjoyment going. Oh and free parking right outside or in the town car park. Highly recommended. Thanks all at Louchi's. Wonderful!

Had a really great breakfast of local food we had a mix and match full Welsh so everyone has exactly what they liked Bacon eggs sausage beans tomatoes mushrooms toast tea and coffee all cooked fresh
