The best restaurants serving British food in Newsome Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

I've been a few times now to Kafka and went there last with my wife. It's located opposite Huddersfield Uni and opened recently once restrictions were lifted. The decor is eclectic and you can easily spend an hour looking at the various items on show. I also tried a number of beers, including Kafka's own. Very nice. The staff are friendly and the prices are cheap too with various drinks offers. They have DJs playing vinyl too on weekend evenings.

The food was absolutely excellent can’t fault it at all, attentive staff members who were extremely helpful and kind (only downside which I hate to say as I know people have different issues etc; young waiter had quite a BO stench) other then that absolutely amazing food, we will definitely be back!

Bottomless brunch was just that. Grace made our visit a very pleasant one. She was attentive and made sure we always had a drink. Chatty and friendly made us feel very welcome.

Absolutely love this place, ive been with friends family and even on my own, always get a warm welcome by all the staff especially from the manager, who goes out of her way to make sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. I have also notice that there is a no tolerance to drugs or other bad behaviour from anyone. I recommend the stumble inn to everyone families couples and anyone, they also do fantastic food at extremely reasonable prices Its a must to call in this great place xxx

Little spot of lunch whilst visiting my daughter at University. We all had something different but the food was absolutely delicious and you get a lot on your plate. From a mega breakfast too a sausage and bacon roll. Quick service and asked for my bacon well done just really tasty food. Highly recommend.

Me and my husband have just eaten the most amazing apple pie from the Bakehouse! The crust melts in the mouth. Beautiful.

The quality of the food is amazing. And such a reasonable price too. Many have said it’s a “best kept secret” sort of place and I have to agree. We went with a party of 16 for a Christmas meal and everyone thought it was brilliant. One colleague was at Eric’s in Lindley the night before and commented that the food at Landings 72 was on a par (if not better) with that. Praise indeed! The staff are a mixture of Kirklees College catering staff and students - it was interesting to see how people looking for a career in catering and hospitality can do their training. It’s only open 1 night a week in term times so booking is essential. Seriously, I can’t rate Landings 72 highly enough. We already have plans to take groups of our friends there over the coming months

Excellent place with friendly staff

Absolutely awful, Ordered a few sides, came out luke warm very small portion sizes, when called the server, he wasn't too happy said he only got two hands to take the food back!! Which I found quite rude!! Quite Disappointed over all experience, Not even asked after if the everything was OK after the fact. Cocktails were good wanted to stay for more but we left after one because of the service. Won't be coming back

Always a lovely atmosphere, and the range and quality of beers is fantastic. Bloody 'ell, they even had Magic Rock's Dairy Freak on draught the last time I was in. Simply sublime!

Very loud very busy, staff weren’t helpful and the food took forever. Was rather overpriced.

Don’t let the basic interior put you off. The food is excellent - beautifully cooked and great value for money.
