Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the Sunday Lunch The meat was very thinly sliced and very little of it The vegetables were boring, lacking any flavour and cold to taste We were first there and at least expected the food to be hot ~ as they should have been throughout the whole service We did tell the staff , but they did not come back with any reply Definitely not worth the ÂŁ23 spent

The last time I visited, I was not particularly impressed with the service, if I'm honest, but as I was meeting up with a friend who suggested here, I was willing to give it another try. So glad I did!!! We went into the newly opened upstairs area, which has been beautifully decorated and had tasty teacakes and coffee with perfect service. Loved it

We had a lovely afternoon tea, 2 of my party were gluten and dairy intolerant and this was not a problem at all!! The sandwiches were huge and full of yummy fillings! All the cakes and scones were perfect as well, our only problem was we could not eat it all so we had a doggy bag for later. It was a fantastic way to start a few days away with friends! Afterwards we stayed for a Gonk making workshop which was very successful and we all managed to surprise ourselves!

Been dining here for a number of years. The food is alway fresh, very well cooked to perfection and delivered perfectly. The chef has a great flare with attention to detail. Lovely staff and cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended

We visit the Lysander most Wednesday for coffee and or lunch. The service we recieve from both Gill and Ryan is excellent. The quality of food and service in both the resturant & bar is extremely good. We'll see you next Wednesday Jo and Wendy

Visited as a couple 7 March. We were staying in the hotel. Ambience was good. The eating area could perhaps do with a bit of updating but it is fine. Menu is a mix of pub classics and more adventurous dishes. I had one of the latter as a starter, Lamb Tagine Roll with harissa mayo and smoked aubergine purée. Very good. The roll had chunks of lamb and the mayo had a kick. Tasted and presented very well. I had steak and ale pie for main. Appeared home made with real chips. Again very good Mrs W had the pork belly which she enjoyed too. We had a very nice bottle of NZ Sav Blanc as well. Very good value.
