We were staying over in Leek on a Sunday evening, wanting to sample some Staffordshire oatcakes the following morning, but the oatcake shop we wanted was closed on Monday! Poor planning. But luckily this place was open at 7.30 am and we found what we wanted here: oatcakes with various fillings such as bacon or tomato; all with cheese. If you've not tried them, Staffordshire oatcakes are very different to the Scottish biscuit that most people associate with 'oatcakes'. Here, they are a soft, flexible wrapper like a pancake, or perhaps a chapatti, made from a thin layer of a yeasted oatmeal/wheat batter griddled until it sets, then wrapped around your chosen filling. We took a pair of oatcakes with cheese and bacon, and a full English of 2 eggs, 2-3 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 toast, beans and tomatoes, plus extra hash browns. This was all in a takeaway tray - there is no table service here. It took about 10 minutes, which is fair enough as everything is cooked to order; but we were the only customers at that time. I imagine at busy times there could be quite a wait. The food was excellent, piping hot as you'd expect with it being cooked to order; and good value too, under £10 for the 2 breakfasts described above, though coffees added a bit more. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this back street boozer out side of town and thought I'd call in on a whim, and boy am i glad i did. Real old school gem, packed out even though it was 11am on a tuesday. Very popular for food turning people away, and icing on the cake a cracking pint on dark mild! 🤩

A beautiful day matched by a fantastic Lunch! We chose the Sharing Platter and what a treat. Chicken Parfait, Warmed Sausage rolls, Ham off the bone, boiled eggs (still with a runny yoke) Salad, Cheddar and Stilton cheese Chutney and homemade Picallili accompanied by a bowl of triple cooked chops!!! A truly memorable meal overseen by Eden who was a credit to the Restaurant.

OK this isn't a fully 5 star establishment serving gastro pub food but it's come a very long way from it's former iteration as just one Leek's (the town where it's located) late night boozers with a bit of a dance floor. It now serves very good homemade food, hot meat sandwiches, haddock and chips etc with everything homemade and on good quality bread (sourdough etc). Service is great, atmosphere pleasant, food excellent, probably the best pub lunch in Leek unless you venture further out into the sticks.

We had booked for an overnight stay which included dinner bed and breakfast. We arrived in glorious sunshine (which obviously was a bonus) but from the moment we stepped into the 3 horseshoes it was faultless. We arrived a little early for check in but decided to have a snack off the menu and some drinks. From going in all the staff were very attentive and cheerful.. After our snack we decided to go into the beer garden as it was such a lovely day. Got some drinks and spent the next couple of hours chilling out - what a lovely area and with the background of the rolling countryside behind us. We then checked into our room - again this was lovely and sparkling clean. Later we went into the dining room for our evening meal - again couldn't fault this. Lovely choices and very good portions and staff were again lovely. Breakfast was great - again lots of choice and served with a smile. We didn't partake of the spa, but that looked very inviting too. We will certainly visit again. Thank you all at the 3 Horseshoes for making our stay so very enjoyable.

Called in for a drink here before going to eat after football, the building is a lovely old building, drinks choice wasn't great, the woman behind the bar was friendly as were a couple of the locals. Speaking of which, it did seem to be a kind of a local hangout for the locals, one or two seemed a bit odd.
