We held an afternoon celebration for 60 to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. Anne, the proprietor, was incredibly helpful throughout the planning stages. The venue is a very cosy barn conversion and perfectly sized for our numbers. The food Anne cooked for us and the well stocked bar made for a perfect afternoon. We cannot thank the Mitchell’s enough for making our special day everything we hoped it would be.

Recently visited for pre-booked lunch with family. Ordered 2 x Asian Salad Wraps & 1 with crispy duck (£5 extra), plus a burger. All the meals were disappointing in particular the crispy duck which was very dry and burger didn’t have much favour. Overall, a pleasant location but food overrated & expensive.

My sister had booked an afternoon tea for the three of us as it was our anniversary. We were so looking forward to it as we had been here sometime before and it was lovely. But times have changed. We were seated in quite a soul less room which had a large and distracting, television. The staff I h!ave to say were very good and attentive. The afternoon tea when it came was disappointing, there was no wow factor and looked very meagre. Because I am a veggie I had my own cake stand and one less sandwich than my carnivore companions. The shot glass with a cream concoction was lovely but the spoon given is too big to go into the glass. The cakes tasted very nice but there was nothing special about them, a thin slice of madeira, a thin slice of brownie and a minute offering of flap jack. The shortbread biscuit was nice though. The scones resembled biscuits and were quite hard. Clotted cream was nice though. All in all not an unpleasant afternoon but not nice enough to tempt me back again.

Took My dad for a meal on Saturday lunchtime, water glasses on the table on arrival one of which was dirty covered in finger prints,I gave this to our waitress when ordering, she took the glass no apology and no fresh glass to replace it. Food was lovely my dad ordered a sweet which I had to go and ask one of the five members of staff chatting at the bar for after waiting for sometime . Our waitress didn't crack a smile all the time we were there which was a bit sad really,no Christmas joy there. I appreciate people have bad days but it shouldn't really impact on anyone else. Ordered a coffee which was bought to the table and I has to ask her if I could please have some sugar which was delivered to the table without a word,oh well at least the food was good but it's not the only thing that leaves an Impression. I hope the young lady has a Christmas to make her happy.

Been using the Beehive for some time ,booked a table for Sunday lunch thought it was strange when I pulled into the car park it was empty it's normally busy, walked in and there were a handful of people normally every table Is full we ordered a carvery and was told it would be a 45 minute wait, 2 people sitting by us had their food brought to them after a couple of minutes the guy called the waiter over and told him it was cold the waiter took it away the couple walked out 4 other people sent their food back, after 1 hour our food arrived it wasn't hot the roasted potatoes were hard and raw the mash was cold the only hot part of the meal was the meat not an enjoyable meal won't be going in there again, was told it was under new management well all I can say is get your act together as this was a nice place but not anymore.

We had my sons 4th birthday party very good staff there There was an incident where my son was bit by another child we told staff member Emily she went looking for the other child's parents and when she found them the mother kicked off with my partner and the staff member I really appreciate what the staff did for my son by going to put ice on his bite mark and wiping my sons arm with an antiseptic wipe and gave him a lollipop to console him. I will definitely take my children here again

We came back (our 2nd visit this year) for my wifes birthday. Despite the car park being absolutely rammed (7pm on a Thursday night!) we got a space after about 10 minutes. This was the only bug bear and a very minor one. Our meals came promptly, and were great. Im a fussy eater and the quality was very good indeed and my meal (pork belly) was superb, and I could barely finish it. My wife had a pizza from the inside pizza oven and she loved it. Thank you to the team that served us. Highly recommend :)
