The best restaurants serving British food in Alrewas and Fradley Lichfield West Midlands

A fascinating and poignant day. Superbly laid out. So much there but ample space for quiet contemplation. Well done the Royal British Legion.

I used to live in the village years ago and used to go to the chippy as a kid and had great memories of getting a bag of chips and eating them on the park bench. Sadly it’s not how I remember, very expensive, just for a handful of chips, fish cake and small pot of curry sauce was £5.20! The chips were nice, just a standard chip shop tea really. The one thing that really disappointed me is the time it took to get my tea! I walked in and ordered straight away, then I waited……people came and went getting collection orders, more and more people came in and ordered food, but no one seemed to be getting served. Eventually after 15mins, maybe longer, I got my order. Never had to wait that long in my life for a fish cake and chips. They were cooked ready so why did it take an age?!

Just had an amazing meal here. We chose it at random , having met some friends at the National Arboretum. The atmosphere was lovely, it's a lovely pub and the food was first class . Highly recommended. We will be back. Also I have to single out the waitress , whose name I do not know, but she was first class, very helpful, easy to talk to and provided amazing service . Thank you again .Everyone should try this

Emailed to book, got confirmation, drove 15 miles there, turned up on the date and time as requested and found the place to be shut. No prior advice and no response to email.

We waited an hour for 3 meals and one was wrong. Every time we go in there the waiting time is ridiculous and you can hear people complaining. My advice to the owner do not take orders without making it clear your waiting time. We would only go back for a drink as you dont have to wait and your less likely to get the order wrong.

Best pub grub I've ever had. Steak pie chips peas, gravy was outstanding. Proper homemade, decent portion size. Excellent table staff, and cook. Also the best pint in the village. Well impressed 👏

We were in the area staying on holiday and dropped in we were shown dining and given the menu.The food was excellent and value you for money.

Fabulous night at a fabulous village pub, so lucky to have it in Alrewas. These menu nights are great value and stylish. Tonight’s was based on game, all served in many different and imaginative ways. Service was efficient, and well done. Our group certainly didn’t mind keeping the cutlery, or eating with our fingers as the courses dictated.
