Can't rate the food as we didn't stay to eat. We are new to Alrewas and wanted to have lunch. We were told cash only for food, cards were accepted for drinks. Never heard of this before. We went to one of the other pubs in the village instead.

Rundown massively from when I last visited.

Pleasant little place with standard pub food. Has the huge advantage of being the only place in Alrewas where you can get food on a Sunday Evening. Marston's.

Excellent pub 5 minutes from canal if you’re boating. We went for lunch on a Friday and the pie was one of the best ever. Beer was very good with a selection of real ales in top condition. Very friendly staff and customers. It’s nice to be in a pub where non regulars are welcome

Nice traditional village pub thar serves a good pint of beer. I can't comment on the food as just dropped in for a pint or two.

We had a lovely roast dinner on Sunday. Service was excellent. We moor our boat locally at Fradley Marina. Perfect dog friendly local for when we visit. Thanks guys

Visiting village for first time in many year. Pop in for a pint at lunch time. It was the best pint of draught beer I had had for several years. So many pubs these days seem to forgot or don’t know how to deal with it anymore. Wish I could have had another! Back soon and maybe eat as well. Peter 90 year old x brewery worker.

Popped in here with family and was shouted out over the bar by a rather rude woman. Apparently this is not a family pub you cannot take a 15 year old in after 9:30 which is fine if that's their rules however shouting like a fishwife over the bar is not acceptable, everyone was looking and made us feel really unwelcome. A polite word would have been enough for us to leave. We left and went to a lovely family pub around the corner and was made to feel really welcome so will go there in future.

A cracking pint.. A proper pub. Friendly landlord and landlady staff, and clientele. Dog friendly.. in fact Geoffrey (the dog) loves it here too.. the landlord brought him some Turkey in a bowl … fantastic! …. Eh-up.. what about me!!! .. Definitely worth a visit. We had a nice evening, some very gobby locals in, a lot different clientele since the last time i was in there, but we sat as far away from them as was possible, so it didn't spoil the night. Nice pub food with a good choice of menu. 40 odd years since I last visited when I worked in the village, will be back.

Visited Alrewas during a narrow boat holiday. Headed for the Cantonese take-away to find it's closed on Tuesdays. Fell on William IV...what a find. Lovely atmosphere, 70s prog rock playing, great beer and delicious food. Really welcoming pub. Ridiculous prices for the quality of the meals. Best steak (with the trimmings) I've eaten in a long time, all for 13 quid. Special mention for our delightful waitress. Shame we have to move on tomorrow or we'd be back for seconds.

Very Long wait for food,but it was good home cooking ,great selection of beers, music suited me but bit of a time warp.

The William lV inn was recommended to me and i was not disappointed and visited today with wife and friends at lunch time. Excellent friendly efficient service, great atmosphere, good varied menu at reasonable prices. What more could you ask for. Can't wait to return. Thanks to all the staff.

Great dog friendly local pub. Meals are reasonably priced I had Steak pie which was very tasty although the pastry was soft and did not come with home made chips as you can see.

Very welcoming pup, visited one week ago with ancient football friends. Excellent range of beers including marstons pedigree and bank's best bitter. Mainly used by locals with good friendly staff. Very traditional village pub.

We were passing through on our narrowboat and had been recommended this place by Shobnall marina. What a find!!! We were not disappointed. Food fabulous! Try the light bites! Fabulous portion of food the homemade steak and ale pie was to die for!!! Beer well kept and a reasonable price! Thank you for an enjoyable evening !!

Chose the King William for a meal while in Alrewas on our narrowboat, based on Google reviews. I was not disappointed, the beef and ale pie was excellent, absolutely packed with beef. Reasonable prices brilliant down to earth menu. Beer was very good too. Will definitely return when next in Alrewas.

We was down from Yorkshire as our dog was having an operation in the area. We called in on the off chance for a bite to eat after visiting the National Museum Arboretum to kill time. Lovely no thrills, traditional pub with very friendly hosts and locals. Food was spot on. Wife's a faddy eater and she smashed the omelette. The Liver & Onions off the special board was to die for. Will definitely bob in again if we're in the area. Cheers folks 🙏🏼

Lovely food at very reasonable prices. The lamb shank is possibly the best I've ever had. Good real ale (choice of 3). Pub and food possibly separate businesses, as had to pay for food and drink separately. Excellent service. Well used by locals, which is always a good sign. Staying at Wychnor Park Country Club which is only 5-10 minutes drive away.

Popped in on a very quiet Tuesday evening with our very well welcomed greyhound. On reading the prices we expected basic pub food but the reality was a quality generous portion of both (my husband's choice) steak & ale pie and my (special) of braised steak. In both instances the steak was melt in the mouth and served with a good helping of freshly made chips and peas. If we lived locally we would return on a regular basis.The service also was faultless.The only piece of advice for those who tend not to carry cash is that, although drinks can be paid for by card, for meals only cash is accepted , luckily for us though a Co-op cash point was a very short walk away!

lovely 4 mile walk on a mildish january day and then lunch at our favorite pub in alrewas.we all chose the beef and ale pie with mash and peas and it was very tasty.the portions are of a good size and a super pint of pedigree went down very well.as always a pleasure to go in this establishment.
