Never again! Rammed and hugely overpriced.

Whilst doing some last minute Christmas shopping popped in to Costa Enjoyed a perfect coffee , superb hot chocolate and delicious mince pie Everything perfect Despite being busy the staff were polite professional and welcoming Manager Radu ensured that everyone felt special and valued He’s an absolute asset to Costa - I hope he stays in Exeter

We ordered by phone & collected the meal, we had specified that one meal not to be spicy, of which was an option on the menu. Got it home & I couldn’t eat it as it was so spicy spicier than the meal my husband had ordered of which was a spicy meal, well it wasn’t 🤦‍♀️ my husband rang to let the girl know she just said sorry. I then rang back saying unfortunately I’ve gone without a meal now & sorry isn’t going to help the matter, I can talk to them about if you want me too. Who’s them the chefs I assume. She came back on the phone basically got the same response, I then was well that’s not good enough, and she offered to talk to them again & they offered a free meal when I next come in. I don’t want to go back there if that’s how you’re going to treat your customers. Honestly you’re just not bothered about customers experience with the shop , service & food. I will not be ordering them again! I shall be returning to happy home Chinese (old faithful) where I know they listen & treat their customers with kindness & respect & you get what you order. I only went to this place because last time that meal was really nice & not spicy.

I have read and heard mixed things about this place so thought I’d try it for myself. It’s been nearly 8 years since I visited this place but WOW what a difference. Newly refurbished in 2024 new management and if I’m honest new pub. Gone are the sleazy look’s dodgy deals and scary atmosphere. I’ve now been in several times since Christmas 2024 and always a warm welcome from the staff. Maria & Kirsty the new management have turned this place around 100% it’s now a well run safe place to go. No food but they don’t mind you having your own with one of their drinks of course. It feels like a traditional family pub should be. I was in last week and met Maria for the first time what a sweet landlady she is no nonsense take her as you find. She was working with her father-in-law and he made us so welcome a great asset to this place nice to see a family working together. I have seen the place very quiet and very busy the staff are always polite yet firm with impatient customers. Lots of students and of course locals a real mix of Exeter people. Great to see they have free pool on a Wednesday , a student discount every day and karaoke on Sunday. one night I heard the Landlady sing she was brilliant. I love watching how much the staff interact with each other and customers it’s nice to see customers shout the staff by name when they start and end a shift. All I can say is keep it up I’ll be back more often from now on. Thank you James

Things missing off our order so I called up and they would not replace the missing things. Do not order from here

Dreadful! Plenty of staff but no one seemed to know what they were doing. They couldn't find a clean glass for my drink. Very limited food. Took 30 minutes to make cheesy chips and when we got it, it was 80%cheese and the chips weren't cooked. Coffee was lukewarm. Tea was in a dirty cup. Cutlery covered in food. Sandwich was stale. Staff surly, uninterested and struggled to understand basic English.

Visitamos con amigos para tomar una copa y decidimos comer. 3 De las 4 comidas estaban bien, pero el 4 de julio de ser pescado y patatas fritas llegamos con guisantes como balas. Cuando fue llamado por miembro del personal y dijeron que los guisantes se comiera él dijo "lo siento por eso" es y no hizo ningún intento de ofrecer una solución, luego repitió que eran incomibles y su respuesta fue 'bien qué quieres hacer? 'en un camino de enfrentamiento. Me instó plato y era bastante anonadados por su respuesta y actitud así que dije 'absolutamente nada que luego respondió "ok" y caminamos lejos! Se fue a otro miembro del personal y se fueron a la cocina. Entonces fui y me dieron el director y le hicieron consciente y comentó que él fue uno de sus mejores empleados. Tomó mi comida y fue sustituido, pero acabé no comer todo como me dejaron comer en mi propio como todo el mundo había terminado su comida. No nos cobraron por la comida, pero no comeré allí de nuevo! Desde la reforma, están tratando de ser de categoría pero no! Una experiencia totalmente decepcionante y, en general, una mala relación calidad-precio!
