Both locals and tourists seem to frequent this local pub. It is reputed to be one of the country’s most haunted pubs. Nice menu selection, with various specials during the week. We had Hunters Chicken, with apple crumble, Fish & Chips from today’s catch, with sticky toffee pudding, and Steak & Ale pie made with Doom Bar. All excellent choices. They also have a nice selection of beers and ales.

Fourth year of coming here but the first time this year eating here. The food was stunning that we ate there twice. The staff are lovely especially the waiting girls. Managed to speak to the chef and tell him food was fab and about the mention the pub got in the times. Will definitely will be returning lovely village as well walked through people very friendly.

Cannot rate this restaurant high enough. Staff are friendly, helpful, cheerful and do the extra things without asking. My husband is in wheelchair which was noticed even before we reached the door. The door was opened with a lovely cherry welcome, immediately lifting spirits on a rainy day. Food was delicious and served well. Nothing too much trouble. We went back next day and hope to make many return visits when in area.

Went here for lunch with a couple of friends last month. I had the quiche & chips for lunch. The food was nice but sadly let down by the stingyest portion sizes. There were no more than about 8 chips on the plate, the coleslaw was in the tinyest pot you've ever seen (so very little). The side salad on the plate was poor. it consisted of just a few small peices of iceberg lettuice - no salad dressing or anything. The quiche was quite small too. I can honestly say i was disappointed with the food portion size and at £11 felt it wasn't worth the money. I went home still hungry. Sad to say, i will be giving it a miss from now on.

Fantastic pub in a lovely village. The licensee (James) and front of house Jake & Beth (and others) are so obliging and helpful. Food is excellent quality and reasonably priced for the area. It’s a hub of village activity and James ensures numerous events are organised throughout the year for the community from themed nights to open mic evenings. Well worth a visit.

This pub has such amazing views and so much potential, we stopped in a very quiet pub on a Sunday afternoon for a drink and snack after a walk but were very quickly ready to go. We were pounced on at the door asking what we wanted, then despite the pub being nearly deserted were told to sit by a table of two families with noisy toddlers. We were then told that we couldn't order with the staff at the table despite there being a number of them or at the bar where there were more staff despite them clearly having multiple tills. We had to order on our phones or on the mcdonalds kiosks. All very odd, like some sort of covid hangover where the owner has decided that they would prefer to not have to speak to the customers, had my children not been so thirsty and tired i would have taken the family elsewhere. The qr code we had to scan wasn't printed properly so that took as while, there is no phone reception so you have to join their wifi which is slow. After registering for their website trying to navigate the order webpage takes time as it hasn't been very well designed or mobile optimised, clunky and again slow. After about 15 minutes i managed to place an order on my phone. A few minutes later before the drinks came a bowl of reheated £5 chips and a handful of sauce sachets, after a few more minutes some tiny cups of tea in glass mugs and some £4 kids drinks. No check back, no upselling, nothing, we would have spent more had it not been so painful. The older generation wont cope with all of this for a cup of tea. Busy carpark but no apparent customers, i should imagine full of tourists in season, this place would stand no chance without the views or against some competition. I honestly don’t remember when i last felt so uncomfortable in a pub, a great example of rip off Cornwall.
