This is the second time we have had the pleasure of a roast here this year. We found the place accidentally whilst visiting Holywell beach. A Beautiful ,traditional thatched roof pub which hasn’t been spoiled in the modern day . Staff are fantastic and so welcoming. Our guests for the weekend were also blown away by the foods. Such a casual approach to great food and service ..:.. Such a shame so hard to find a place like this these days. Every aspect of the roast was to die for especially the Cauliflower purée , we can’t recommend enough….

Such a lovely country pub. It’s so welcoming and all the staff are so friendly. We’ve eaten here many times whilst on holiday in Crantock or Holywell Bay and have visited as a couple and as part of a larger family group and we’ve never been disappointed! They also have a few vegan options which is essential for us.

Lovely and friendly staff, nothing was too much, Fast service. A family of 7 our food did come out cold but this was quickly rectified with apologies and a free drink whilst we waiting for our food to come out hot and it was delicious. so much so we returned 2 nights later for another meal, very accommodating and our dog was welcome too.

Lovely welcome by staff. Food was pre-ordered as we were a party of 7, arrived very quickly, hot and tasty. Would especially recommend the bacon chicken and ciabatta with chips which was such a huge portion I brought half home in my serviette for later! Also pie was highly recommended. Great lunch after a long walk, much appreciated!

We visited this pub twice whilst on holiday in Hollywell Bay and were not disappointed. The food is amazing and the bar staff were welcoming and friendly.

Delicious food. Would recommend the steak pie and also the Caesar salad which was amazing both in taste and size!! The level of service received is important to us and the lady who took our order has worked there for as long as I can remember and she has never changed. She is so so friendly and helpful as was the young man that brought our food. Definitely recommend.

Old Worldy pub with dated decor to match, had dinner there, menu limited but food was good but some of food was warm rather than hot when it came, likewise beer was not chilled but a little on the warm side. Really wanted a Sunday lunch during our holiday to Cornwall and this pub delivered a great roast beef dinner. Thatched pub 2 mins walk from Holywell Bay beach. Food was great and thoughtfully arranged on plate, really loved the cauliflower cheese puree. Great gravy. Good choice or drinks. Dog Friendly inside and out. Worth a visit.

To give an honest review - after the starters it seemed it was going to be well worth it - main course was somewhat disappointing- My father had scampi and chips with the scampi served still frozen in the middle - given the impression that it’s home cooked pub grub it’s obviously straight out the bag into the fryer. Myself and wife had the pork belly which read on the menu a lot better than presented or tasted - it was basically pork belly on top of beans/tomato and sausage and bacon ( or effectively what felt like what’s left of the breakfast menu ) My daughter had the home made steak burger which was incredibly tasteless. Guinness is £5.70 per pint White wine £7.00 per glass A family of 4 adults and 3 children ( 2 ordering from kids menu ) was £180. Taking into account they never charged us for the frozen scampi I don’t mind paying the money if the food is good - it wasn’t - Only good thing was the lady that served us at the table and that’s it. Very poor - would swerve

We came as a family of 4 and enjoyed a fabulous meal! Mains were lovely quality and good sizes. My son and nephew enjoyed their waffles and the crumble was perfect! Lovely lady with clips in her hair, was fantastic and super helpful. Would definitely recommend ❤️

Historic building with thatched roof and lovely old fashioned feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and chatty with our young daughter. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Our meals arrived in less than 10 minutes which you'd think would be a good thing. But it was very obvious that the food had been reheated or sat under a heat lamp for some time. Overall it was a pleasant experience. We'd go back for drinks but not the food.

Went hear for drinks same time last year and left a bad review as the place stunk of wet dog. Returned this month and can see big changes. No more off putting smells. Place lovely and clean. Nice reasonably priced drinks and good friendly staff.
