The best restaurants serving British food in South East

First time visited today , will certainly come again , food was lovely, and staff very friendly, I would certainly recommend it, and will certainly go again, when I can get there my P A took me today. Thank you Mark Apted.

Este café existe desde hace unos años, pero lo acabo de encontrar ya que nunca lo había visto publicitado.  Un gran descubrimiento, el personal muy amable y buen servicio. Menú variado y buena comida tanto para mirar como para comer. Un montón de obras de arte para mirar, libros para leer y mesas y sillas bien decoradas. Mi primera visita, pero se convertirá en una visita regular, muy feliz de encontrar un valor tan bueno a nivel local, tanto en términos de precio como medioambientales.

My mother and I had a delicious lunch at Waltham Place. It’s a set menu and everything was delicious and the service very warm and friendly. We enjoyed a very informative and enjoyable 2 hour private tour (£40 total for a group of up to 4 people) by one of the estate’s very experienced gardeners, Tim. The gardens are stunning and set against the backdrop of the beautiful house. We had a fantastic afternoon and will definitely come back.

Menú de barra recta, bastante variado, desde bocados ligeros hasta bistec y papas fritas. Los pedidos son recibidos en el bar por un personal muy amable, encuentra una mesa y siéntate en ella y, si tienes suerte, puedes sentarte junto a uno de los grandes ventanales con vista al green número 18. Precioso salón, servicio rápido, precios moderados, bien servido y buenas raciones. Si lo que busca es un almuerzo de pub en un entorno encantador con un excelente personal y buenos precios, ¡definitivamente salga aquí!

Beautiful place- inside lovely tea room and outside terrace available, friendly and extremely quick staff. Tea and scones are the best ever. Highly recommend!

Excellent coffee van. Great coffee, very pleasant staff. Positioned on the esplanade, nice place to sit with great coffee.

This is one of my best coffee places in Brighton but something went wrong recently. Staff used to whip up a superb coffee, without fail, but the new person is not exactly a coffee person. She also looks as if she is there under duress, not because she wants to serve coffee. A smile and a little welcoming vibe would help. And also, if your coffee goes wrong, which can happen to anybody, maybe make a decent new one.

Kate had the absolute cheek to give me a filthy unwashed fork, however when I notified her she swiftly changed it for a new clean one! The roast chicken and salad was so good i quickly put the uncleanliness to the back of my mind.

Just had a delicious meal from Bicester Burger. The service was friendly and the food was made fresh to order in about 10 minutes. I had loaded fries and the double cheeseburger. Both were excellent. Thank you. I will surely come again next time I am in the area.

Not dog friendly as they say . Food was very mediocre frozen chips I had a pie it had no taste and the gravy tasted like bisto we was going to make a night of it but did not bother. Wife’s steak was nice cooked as she likes it but.chips let it down frozen not very warm she said .

Bistro Live Milton Keynes is the kind of place that turns a regular night out into a full-blown celebration. I went with a group of friends for a birthday bash, and it was honestly one of the most fun nights we've had in ages. The evening kicks off with a three-course meal—no need to pre-order, which is a relief. I had the Southern Style Chicken Strips to start, followed by the Chicken Supreme, and ended with their Duo of Desserts. The food was tasty and arrived promptly, allowing us to focus on the entertainment. Speaking of entertainment, the live band was fantastic, playing a mix of classics and current hits that got everyone dancing. The staff were energetic and even joined in on the fun, dancing on tables and encouraging everyone to let loose. The atmosphere is electric, making it perfect for birthdays, hen parties, or just a night out with friends. The staff's enthusiasm and the quality of the entertainment make Bistro Live a standout venue in Milton Keynes. If you're looking for a place to eat, drink, and dance the night away, Bistro Live is the spot. Just be prepared to be on your feet most of the night!

What a find! Popped in for brunch and ended up going back the next day before we left. Really lovely cafe, well decorated, light and airy, lovely location and view of the beach and pier. I had the full English and it was one of the bests I’ve had in a long time. Partner had the avo and halloumi and he loved it so much he had it again the next day. Well priced and good quality food, great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

The waitress rude no help at all just walked away the wemon that runs it awful just throw my food on table and walked away the only good thing was the bar man very welcoming and helpful will never go back

The food is excellent and there is a good selection of rather good wines ranging in price from 'sensible' to 'eye-watering' :-) We started with a bottle of the house sparkling wine (Penstock) which was all it claimed to be - light and refreshing - served in the comfortable lounge area. The dining room was a little noisy - perhaps because of the high ceiling and hard floors, but it was crowded so perhaps that's understandable. I started with the red mullet - beautifully cooked and nicely de-boned. My main of sea-bream from the grill was quite superb - and I can recommend the crispy potatoes. Dessert was a chocolate mousse - smooth and full of flavour. And this is what one might expect from a restaurant operating at this level - excellent ingredients, cooked well. What made this celebration meal special, though, was the service. I have eaten at lots of restaurants and I have never had better service. I regret I can't remember the name of the guy who served us, but both he and his colleague (she was from Hungary and was a big fan of Tokaj) were professional, friendly and contributed a lot to our enjoyment of an excellent meal - thanks to both of you!
