The best restaurants serving British food in Wickham Winchester South East

Not overly impressed for a number of reasons. 1) menu is okay if you like cheese. If not, there’s not much choice 2) service was very slow. I had to chase the food as it arrived about 25 minutes after our teas 3) cups served with the waitress gripping the rim of the cups, bearing in mind she’s serving at the till and handling money, not very hygienic. 4) had to ask for milk to go with the tea. 5) ordered a decaf and regular tea, when it was served it was plonked down in front of us and the waitress was about to walk off without saying which was which. Had it been one of these things, I wouldn’t have minded but the overall experience means I won’t be returning.

Had a great sunday lunch on their last day before closing sadly! Buzzing afternoon though!!

The staff of the Red Lion are very friendly and accommodating. Not phased by group of senior citizens descending on them for coffee every Saturday morning, we organised a lunch there today. 18 of us sat down to good food in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu had something for everyone and was excellent value. Now my lot want me to organise another meal there as they enjoyed it so much!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited The Roebuck Inn with my partner for a special occasion—my birthday—and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We started with the Spiced Lamb Cutlet, which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. For mains, we had the Specialty Lamb Madras and the Spiced Salmon, both of which were exquisite. Every bite was a delight! To make the evening even more memorable, the staff surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful touch. The wine selection was excellent, and the service was truly brilliant—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. The Roebuck is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether for a special occasion or just a great meal out, this is the place to go.

Nice dog friendly pub, had the curry it was lovely, friendly service,nice atmosphere,would recommend and will return

Meal was thrown on the plate ...mostly made up of frozen vegetables bland not appetising at all will not be returning for a meal any time soon...plenty of other places to eat
