Wonderful food stall selling locally sourced food. It operates on Fridays and Saturdays. Apart from the regular items of meat, veg and bread etc, there is always something new to be found, depending on the time of year. Star service is friendly and helpful. A great place.

Fantastic service, sadly my husband had some of the blue label in his wine which went un noticed until we mentioned it and I had a large bone in a small fillet of seabass. There was no apology, just a response from thr head chef of oh, that sometimes happens. This made me feel that we were there at their behest, not enjoying a relaxed Anniversary celebration as was intended. The waitress referred to my husband and I as guys which wasnt appreciated. Some incredibly odd food pairings of black garlic in a petit four and castel blue cheese and German sausage on a plate of Highland venison. It is the most beautiful building but I have enjoyed better tasting food in other locations. Sadly not for me, an8d I am classically trained in food cookery.

Hopefully this excellent coffee lounge will re-open soon. Visited just before the lockdown and had an excellent lunch in the sunny garden room. The staff were very friendly; the food was of high quality, well prepared and the prices were reasonable. It's well worth a visit, as it is home to a very large, fine quality antiques centre. We spent at least an hour browsing and purchased some silver (there is a wonderful selection of genuine silver and objet's d'art here). Dorking remains an old-fashioned market town and this tea-room is a gem.

I remember, think his name was Andy, guy with a beard who use to own this pub. We are talking about the late 80's. Great pub back then. Today, still a nice place. Pool table has gone.. Oh well but they did have football on so not is all lost. What happened to Andy?

Booked to have dinner here many weeks ago. Was called by the pub five minutes before are booking time to inform us no food was being served! Are friends had traveled from far and wide in difficult weather conditions! Only to find a pub whose chef can't be arsed to turn up for work!!! Wow

I think previous reviews haven’t made the distinction between the Tanhouse Cafe near Newdigate and their other branch, the Tanhouse tea bar at Leith Hill Tower on top on Leith Hill. They are associated but not same place being five miles apart.
