Wonderful food stall selling locally sourced food. It operates on Fridays and Saturdays. Apart from the regular items of meat, veg and bread etc, there is always something new to be found, depending on the time of year. Star service is friendly and helpful. A great place.

This is a market stall in Dorking that operates on Fridays and Saturdays. They provide all sorts of wonderful looking food items (cakes, honey, fruit & vegetables, sausages, meat, bread, pastries and other stuff). The service was really friendly and there was lots of chatting & laughing going on. The food I bought was super tasty. And I was able to return my marmalade jar, milk bottle and egg box for reuse next time. They really seemed focused on being as sustainable and local as possible. They do a delivery service too.

A food-stall run twice-weekly by friendly folks selling the freshest of locally-sourced goods: in summer the best-ever tomatoes, and always a changing variety of greens and root vegetables. Oh, and cheese and meat, and interesting bread from a local baker, and eggs from local ducks and hens, and jars of the finest chutney and piccalli you ever saw. Volunteers run it, and it's a real asset to the town. Give it a try!

Their slogan is "Local Food For Local People." It sounds to me a bit too like: "This is a local shop for local people," that ominous statement from The League of Gentleman! But there is nothing the least bit daunting about Tim McEntire and Phil May, the mainstays of Food Float, whose appearance on Dorking High Street over recent years has proved to be a much welcome, and hopefully, fixed addition. And welcoming they most certainly are. This mini food market on my doorstep has seen my regular purchase of free-range eggs and the occasional, duck egg. Or how about some home-made jam, bread from Chalk Hills Bakery in Reigate, or huge potatoes grown by the ladies at HMP Send!?Now, I note, (my next temptation) they may take your pre-order of chicken or other meats. But whatever you choose you can do so in the full knowledge that what you get is the freshest produce possible, that the quality is consistent with that demanded by restaurants, whom they also supply, and all of it fairly, and competitively, priced. I am delighted to be a regular customer and there is a community feel about the whole enterprise, yet with the professional approach that, perhaps, only a former chef-proprietor and a cryo-physicist can bring!

This is run by the grange and encourages some disadvantage people to cook and mix the customers. Although the choice of food and drinks are limited there is enough to choose from . Jacket potatoes were nice. It is very good value and a worthwhile cause.to support, booking in advance is essential

Yesterday I had business in the Surrey Hills and I do declare I ate the best ham, egg and chips that any kitchen ever put on a plate anywhere in the world! The winning establishment is the Abinger Hammer tea rooms. Service by the sole proprietor, Anne! I also picked up a couple of surplus squashes from a neighbour’s wall left out for passers by. Kindness and good service may still be a force to be reckoned with!

Fantastic service, sadly my husband had some of the blue label in his wine which went un noticed until we mentioned it and I had a large bone in a small fillet of seabass. There was no apology, just a response from thr head chef of oh, that sometimes happens. This made me feel that we were there at their behest, not enjoying a relaxed Anniversary celebration as was intended. The waitress referred to my husband and I as guys which wasnt appreciated. Some incredibly odd food pairings of black garlic in a petit four and castel blue cheese and German sausage on a plate of Highland venison. It is the most beautiful building but I have enjoyed better tasting food in other locations. Sadly not for me, an8d I am classically trained in food cookery.

Hopefully this excellent coffee lounge will re-open soon. Visited just before the lockdown and had an excellent lunch in the sunny garden room. The staff were very friendly; the food was of high quality, well prepared and the prices were reasonable. It's well worth a visit, as it is home to a very large, fine quality antiques centre. We spent at least an hour browsing and purchased some silver (there is a wonderful selection of genuine silver and objet's d'art here). Dorking remains an old-fashioned market town and this tea-room is a gem.
