The Parrot in Mole Valley

What a find. I so enjoyed the delicious food, I had a beetroot and feta salad with warm bread on the side, my brother-in-law had the steak & ale pie washed down with wine & Guinness. The staff really took very good care of us. Will definitely return.

Party of seven on a sunday afternoon. Mix of kids, adults and a Granny. And a dog. So we really did mix it up. Pub very busy when we arrived. But the the waitress we had gave us great service. The food went down really well with everyone. Was a little loud to be able to hear the conversation from one end of the table to the other but other than that The Parrot did us proud once more.

We have eaten at The Parrot several times and never been disappointed. Recently sixteen of us used their private dining room for an Anniversary celebration. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was great. The following day my husband and I returned for a late Sunday lunch, it was delicious and can’t recommend the place enough

Have now been a few times. Amazing Sunday roasts and last week once again was delicious even though we came late in the day. Staff very friendly and service top notch. Hubby loves the choice of beers. Easily becoming a favourite in the area - just wish we were in walking distance.

Great meal in comfortable surroundings, staff lovely but incredibly slow considering not crowded for a change. Most to be seen chatting at the service point. A glitch suffered previously but not mentioned before. Easy to solve!

Excellent find on a spring day. After a gorgeous walk. We needed a bite to eat and drink. Service was excellent, food arrived quickly as they were very busy serving Sunday lunches and we just ordered from the light bites menu.

A very spacious pub with great food, great service and a friendly atmosphere all round. I had a chicken pie which was simply delicious which it needed to be as this pub is not on the cheap end of the spectrum. We enhoyed a meal for four and the only issue was no stand for the ice bucket on a fairly small table. A bit of a first world problem to be fair. I would certainly recommend this pub for a fine family meal or a special celebratory meal as it has that extra special element that makes it more than just a pub.

We had a delicious meal here for the Easter weekend, served by the lovely Darcey! This is a warm and inviting pub with a family feel to it in a beautiful setting.

The food is good, the price is ok compared to other places and considering everything went up so much recently. The location is really nice. Worth a visit!

We’ve eaten regularly at the Parrot and it’s always been consistently good. Until today. I’d describe the food as indifferent to poor. My crispy beef salad was missing ingredients it has had in the past (cashew nuts and fresh chilli slices) and was drowning in a sickly sweet and cloying chilli sauce. Think bottled supermarket sauce. Hubby had the cheese pie and was seriously underwhelmed by it. Come on, B&P, what’s happened to your food quality?

Have visited a couple of times before for lunch and been pretty good but on this occasion the food was very disappointing. Starter of Sea Bass Taco, which was presented open style (why?) has an unlisted white dressing, which may have been some sort of soured cream, and was quite unpleasant and overpowered the rest of the completely under seasoned contents. Main course of Chicken Burger was overcooked and very dry and again, completely lacking in flavour. Friends had chosen this venue so I didn’t complain at the time. But won’t rush back. Shame - cos a nice enough pub but not worth the money.

Mother's Day meal for 5 of us - the food was excellent, well prepared, and although somewhat slow coming, considering how busy the restaurant was, amazing it was as fast as it was. the food reached the table fresh and very hot - excellent. I would love to know what coffee is used - it was delicious. I shall use the Parrot again.

Really good experience, service was a prompt, friendly and efficient, all the food delicious, especially the chocolate brownie which was the best brownie I've ever tasted and I have eaten plenty :-) Hope it stays on the menu as I will be back just for that!

Cozy country pub with hearty meal. Spent a wonderful time.

Super old. But big and high class. 4 fireplaces/woodburner stoves, comfy not pretentious styling with and eloquent menu. Beautiful back garden, friendly staff, great booze selection (both on the taps and liquor displayed), and most importantly, the inner part of the pub has reserved the stone work and hand carved beams. Also, a lovely 2+ mile walk through forests and fields from the back of this house. - John Holveck

Last two visits spoilt by barky, overactive dogs in the dining room. We will not return.

Went to the Parrot for the 1st time & wasn't disappointed. The service & food were excellent. Definitely will be returning.

What a wow! It was as a first visit and it won’t be my last. Atmosphere, food and service were all outstanding. We enjoyed traditional roast dinners to die for with all the trimmings. Perfect after a long day of tramping around the countryside.

Gorgeous pub. Lovely cosy atmosphere. Bar staff friendly. Burger was a bit disappointing as at that price point I expected it to be quite special but was just a very average burger and fries.

Great venue. Dog friendly. Staff are motivated.

Very good service and ambiance. The coq au vin pie and vegeterian were fair. They seemed pre-made, mass-produced and tasted OK, but not great. Goyza starter, sIde veg and potatoes were much better.

A great favourite among our laces to eat , t never disappoints

We have known the Parrot for decades, often eaten here, always liked it. The reason I've given only 3*for service is not because of our table service, which was fine, but because we had received, before Christmas, an envelope wishing us merry Xmas and saying that if we had a meal before February 13th, that the bill would be reduced by ¼, or ½, or completely; the idea was to only open the envelope when the bill was presented after the meal, to find out then which fraction of the total was to be the Xmas present. So, on February 9th my wife and I came with son and daughter and their partners, and we had a lovely meal and time together, and when the bill came, and I opened the envelope with the waitress beside me, it announced a ¼ reduction, which was fine, gratefully received. But after a few minutes the waitress returned and said that the offer excluded meals on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The 9th was a Friday. I had not seen this information on the envelope. I asked the waitress if it was on the envelope. She studied it carefully for a minute, and said "no, it's not here. But it would be on the website" Now, like everyone else, we get seemingly attractive offers all the time, and, like everyone, we've learned that there's always something to prevent one actually getting the benefit. But I'd believed the Parrot. I thought they wouldn't stoop to being semi-deceptive. So we were disappointed in them. Hence the 3*service.

don't be put off by the price of the soup! we popped in for a early afternoon snack and a beer and tried the soup....deeeelicious! seriously substantial and came with a massive warm crusty roll.... really good value for money 😀

I cannot thank all the staff at he Parrot enough. We were in Surrey for a weekend break from the city and booked a table at 2pm for Sunday lunch before the drive back to North London. We were just over an hour hourly but were still seated. We ordered our food which arrived in just 15 minutes!! The staff were all so friendly and the atmosphere was just so lovely, being sat next to the fire pit as well. Given how delicious the roast beef was (cooked to perfection - one of the best Roast Dinners we have ever had) we simply had to try the dessert which was equally as tasty and fast-arriving. Overall we were in and out with 10 minutes to go even before our original booking time started which allowed us an earlier departure back home. Thank you so much for an incredible time to round off a really lovely weekend.

Very well run pub with good food and service. I called and was answered in less than 3 rings - yes I could eat in 15 mins. Lovely pub, large but cosy. Good selection of beers. Good food and friendly staff. An enjoyable experience that shows how running a pub can be done. I returned a number of times, always a good experience. Expect to pay around £200 for a 3 course meal for 4. Default tip is now 12.5% 😱 which I was not happy about, this will deter me from visiting in the future. Would far prefer higher prices to enable better paid staff and lower (or no) tip. We are not America!

Only had a drink, lovely setting. Need tonlearn to limbo as i bashed my head in a few times on the beams!!!

Been here a few times now over the last few months (including Christmas eve) and every time been amazing. From the welcome at the bar, service throughout, atmosphere and the food itself. Can't be faulted. I realise there are always a few reviews directed with an agenda but this, currently, is up there with the best (only rated 11th right now). And it's not that expensive either. We'll be back soon

It's a Brunning and Price pub, if you know the pubs. Really attentive and helpful staff, which was great. The pub has a very nice ambiance. The food was, of course, very good.

Boxing Day treat- excellent food and great service

Five of us went for a New Years Eve dinner and all of us had been there before. We were greeted at the bar by a smiling barman and got our drinks. Our table was not ready but we were early so no problem. When we were shown to our table we were greeted by Grace, a lovely happy smiling waitress. She looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the whole evening was splendid. Thank you Grace and all the staff you really do know what hospitality is all about.

Although I’ve visited this pub several times and given it favourable reviews, going there with friends for dinner on New Year’s Eve was a new experience. One of the outstanding qualities of this pub is the wonderful staff - highly efficient and very personable. On a very busy night, this was still evident. Front of house, Suzanne, was very welcoming and gracious and our server , Grace, was brilliant. She was very attentive and always smiling. She helped us to have a memorable evening. Another outstanding feature is the food. It never fails to impress and the fare on this occasion was fabulous. Tasty nibbles and main courses were all great. Good music on offer too. Nice food but very expensive, and 3 of the 5 foods we asked for were small portions like the hake, or the stake. The nut roast was delicious and so the lamb.

Fantastic meal and lovely staff. The best pub meal I've had in ages. Unfortunately our table was near the door to the car park. Although this was supposed to be just for disabled it was in regular use. Every time it was opened we were treated to a gust of freezing wind and the door would not close properly afterwards. I would happily eat there again but request a table away from the door.

Great staff and ambience, fabulous kitchen, menu, spaces and furnishings , best pub for miles including cranleigh and rudgwick.

Bad experience last Wednesday. We had to wait 45 min for our food. They had forgotten about the order and it took reminding them twice before the food then arrived. The risotto dish I ordered was bland, barely cooked. I ate it because I was hungry, such an expensive dish when I looked at what was on the plate and how awful it was. Normally the Parrot is better than this, or maybe things have changed. We work nearby but will stay clear for a while.

This was our second visit to The Parrot, we experienced the same fabulous level of service, quality and range of food and excellent atmosphere. The pub is over an hours drive from home, but as we happened to be in the area, couldn't resist another visit. We will certainly be returning.

Such a superb pub in the middle of nowhere. Always make a point of visiting if within 20 mins of this pub. Loads of tables and and a lovely restaurant, a great welcome and plenty of outside space in the summer to watch the cricket.

Excellent food which looks attractive on the plate and tastes great. Service is excellent even in busy periods and the staff are polite and helpful. Parking is limited but you can park easily on the road too. Lovely view across the cricket field in summer.

A great traditional ole English pub great service fantastic food

Met a business colleague and we sat next to a perfectly prepared central open fire. Good Guinness & beer, fish & chips followed with impressive service by a charming waitress. I wish every time I went out it could be like this. Thanks for a memorable meal.

I started going to the Parrot with friends for lunch a few years ago. It is an excellent lunch venue, outstanding menu across the board. The food is expertly chosen, cooked and presented. Delightful staff, all making for a superb experience.

A family lunch for 7. The pub is welcomed no warm and has the feel of a real local institution with comfy seating areas, big open bar, large dinning area and lovely garden. Food was amazing and my Spiced Cauliflower Pie was the star of the show

Wonderful character pub, so well located, view over the green, and Surrey Hills, even a game of cricket to watch on occasion, very popular with classic car owners, walkers , and so atmospheric! Well worth a visit. Revisited November 2023-it’s even better now, superb food, everything spot on as it should be. Definitely the place to eat , drink a little , and be very merry.

We had a really great experience at The Parrot this weekend. Even though it was busy it was really cosy and all the staff were very welcoming! The food was fantastic, chef has put together a really great menu which exceeded our expectations! We’ll definitely be recommending The Parrot and returning soon.

Brilliant food, wines, friendly professional service, and dog friendly too, with treats on the bar. What's not to like?

We were really hungry and the service was excellent, despite the fact that The Parrot was very busy over Sunday lunch. Food delicious and nice atmosphere. Lovely spot. Book ahead in the restaurant for busy periods. We were able to find a walk-in table in the bar area.

Big old pub that still manages to be warm and cosy probably on account of all the open fires. Modest selection of beers and a huge menu (with appeared to have a German theme?) which to me is always a red flag and so it proved. Fish (great) and chips (soggy) was ok but a chicken schnitzel thing was most unappetising. Service good but food let it down on this occasion.

Great country pub, excellent food and wine, and it's also very roomy!

We had specifically booked to eat from your OktoberFest menu and having checked that the menu would still be available yesterday we arrived having decided what we were eating to be told it was not available. One person said due to Fireworks and another said you had run out of the food. We were really disappointed and feel that anyone that had booked a table in advance should have been sent an email to say that the Oktoberfest menu would not be available.

Great menu in a lovely country pub with a fantastic history and setting. Very good selection of ales and friendly locals. Particularly enjoyed the Oktoberfest menu options. The only thing missing on a cold weekend was the warming effect of the log fires but the armchairs for post dinner coffee were great.

Always has been a place to go we were all (8 )so disappointed with the food being local always recommended Not the same quality as before and very expensive. I had half a shoulder of lamb very small and over £26 Can no longer recommend to people very sad

We were a family of four with two young children who went to the Parrot for Sunday lunch, on the recommendation of the owner of the rented cottage we were staying at. We ordered the pork belly roast, steak and mushroom pie, and chicken wings for the children. The well staffed bar was attentive and helped me navigate the good selection of local real beer. The food was outstanding, particularly the home made gravy. You couldn't get a better location as we watched a game of cricket in green opposite on a glorious Sunday in early October. Will definitely go back if in the area again.

We discovered the Parrot while looking for dog friendly pubs but the quality of the food and overall ambience / experience has had us coming back every few months. Service was superb - very friendly staff, quick and efficient and all courses arrived quickly and together. It's a fantastic location with miles of great walking nearby. A lovely spacious feel inside and plenty of room to move around if you've got a buggy or dogs. Plenty of tempting dishes to choose from on the menu. Think I'd have been more than happy taking pot-luck on anything on the menu. On the table, we all had different mains and deserts and everyone commented on how good the food was. I'd really struggle to think of anything I could ask to be changed or improved. Whether you're out walking with a 4 legged friend or just want a really good country restaurant to relax on a Sunday afternoon, this is a great spot. I'd unreservedly recommend it to anyone and would struggle to think of any other restaurant we've become such happy repeat customers

This is Brunning & Price so our expectations are high, especially as we frequent the Highdown in Worthing often. This is no comparison and is so far away from the standards and expectations of the brand. We had the Halibut and the Lamb shoulder, both although cooked, were uninspiring ans tasteless. Lamb was fatty and potatoes were anaemic and would have rather spent £50 o. 4 pub grub meals elsewhere. We didn’t get a check back so couldn’t say anything and weren’t even asked how our meals were once we’d finished. Customer service = rubbish. Value for money = rubbish. Will stick to Highdown and Chef & Brewers in future.

The food. The staff. The vibes. Just amazing. My mum in law is in a wheelchair and they gave us a corner table out of the way of other guests. The loos are wheel chair friendly. Its just such a lovely pub. The best thing about the Parrot is having your dog with you. I wish we had one of those here in South Africa.

Incredible little bar with the biggest selection of rum in London. Very knowledgeable bar tenders who make the most delicious cocktails. Fabulous place for a birthday party and you can order in your own food.

What a lovely experience for us! Celebrating our wedding anniversary was made even better through the great food and wonderful service at The Parrot. Your waiting staff were vigilant but not intrusive, and always knew when to come to our table! Worth their weight in gold! (So is the chef!)
