SMOQE is an absolute gem on Rochester High Street. From the moment you step inside, you can tell this place is something special. The restaurant is spotlessly clean with an amazingly designed interior, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Clare and John are so attentive and created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere perfect for a Sunday afternoon meal. The menu boasts a fantastic selection of food options, catering to all tastes. Their focus on great produce really shines through. I opted for the Korean chicken salad, and it was a perfectly balanced meal with the right amount of everything! My partner tried the Smoqe and bacon burger and it was cooked to perfection. We also had a side of slaw and cajun fries, which again, were great. The portion sizes are incredibly generous. The drinks selection is also excellent, offering a variety of choices. It’s clear that they prioritise quality in everything they do. Overall, SMOQE provides an exceptional dining experience. The combination of delicious food, friendly service, and a clean, inviting atmosphere makes it a must-visit in Rochester. I can't wait to return and try more of their menu. Five stars without a doubt! Thank you so much for a great meal we will be back.

This place provides a good selection of breakfast and lunch time meals and drinks . The food is nicely cooked and they will cook it as you request. The drinks too are good , as are the staff who are pleasant and helpful

Booked for 8 people the day before for Sunday roast and was not disappointed. The staff (especially Claire) were so friendly and helpful. The sharing board roast was delicious and the meats were so tasty. The cocktails were scrummy and all in all just an amazing atmosphere 100% reccomend!

1st October. Absolutely FANTASTIC. Tasting menu Loved all of it. Paris was a star!! Our son started college here & wants to be a chef. He will be in very good hands.

Proper pub, say no more as most other pubs are turning into restaurants with a bar.

Just had a Roast Chicken and a Roast Lamb Dinner delivered. It was still piping hot and delicious. Great price and value, 1 meal had 3 slices of Lamb, 2 nd meal had 1/4 Chicken with both having:- 3 roast potatoes, carrots, peas, Yorkshire pud and gravy. Apple Pie and Custard for Desert.

On 20th July 2024, my husband and myself had paid for ourselves and our two daughters to go on the Call The Midwife Tour - we were celebrating our eldest daughter's birthday and because we are all MASSIVE fans of Call The Midwife my husband and I bought the tour tickets and at the time of buying the Tour tickets we also bought the Cream Tea £6.95pp. We had bought the tickets weeks prior and were so excited when the actual day arrived. After the Call The Midwife Tour (which I do NOT recommend - see my review) finished we walked along to The Mess Deck Restaurant to enjoy our Cream Tea. We were greeted by a member of waiting staff. My eldest daughter showed her the tickets whilst saying "Hello, we are here for our afternoon Cream Tea!" and the waiting staff snatched the tickets out of her hand (literally!) then counted to confirm the number (4) and very heavily threw them on the counter and turned towards the fridge. I looked at my eldest daughter and she looked at me. (We are being served by the most unhappy, miserable, bad attitude member of waiting staff). The member of waiting staff turned to place - two at a time - our Cream Tea all on ONE tray. The waiting staff simply looked at my eldest daughter and said "hot or cold". My eldest daughter said "excuse me". The waiting staff then sighed, took a deep breath and repeated her question very angrily "hot or cold? do you want the scones warmed up or left cold?. My eldest daughter replied "hot please, thank you very much". The waiting staff then continued with our request and literally "threw" everything on the tray together. What a bloody mess! One strawberry fell on the floor for which my eldest daughter had to ask for another and when the waiting staff asked why, my eldest daughter said "because it fell on the floor" and the waiting staff was NOT happy with this and "huffed" whilst placing another one on the plate. As the tray was "overloaded" and "unsafe" to carry, my eldest daughter fetched another tray and split the Cream Tea in half. Well, bad idea, the waiting staff wanted us gone! As we picked up our trays the waiting staff said "we shut at 5pm and it is 4.30pm now. We said "OK" and found a table. Would I recommend Cream Tea - No Would I recommend The Mess Deck Restaurant - No Today was about celebrating our eldest daughter's birthday. Our eldest daughter had been saving for quite a while to go on Call The Midwife Tour and whilst booking for that we noticed Cream Tea for £6.95pp and thought - why not! birthday treat! My husband and I did pay for both events as her birthday present for which my daughter has since apologised for "wasting our money". What we have taken away from our day is the lasting memory of the waiting staff and the way in which she served us and again , our daughter has apologised for her too! All in all a complete waste of money!

Went for lunch and they gave what we ordered to another table and then brought us the wrong order so had to go and re do mine. My partner had finished her meal by the time they managed to get mine out. The food itself was nothing special one small burger patty that was dry and less than a handful of small thun fries. Was not good value for the money and not great service. Will not be visiting again anytime soon

OASIS CAFE in gillingham is The place to avoid. This is not Sunday roast is a frozen slobber trying to get covered by gravy, which I have specifically requested to be added on the side But the cook decided he was not in the mood. Extremely rude staff that do not care about any dietary requirements, and are extremely rude , actually raising their voice to The Customer and second One putting The Phone down when you complain. Just Eat UK should remove this nonsence of Cafe from their platform P.S Even my Dog refused to Eat it
