Overpriced food. Pathetic portions. A huge amount of money for tiny portions of food. We went for lunch and came away hungry! Wouldn’t go back. Massage with Jane was lovely though. Lovely lady. We were here in October. This was a gift so I’m glad I didn’t pay!

What an amazing experience - stunning food in lovely surroundings with such a friendly team! Love the sustainability ethos and learning more about each ingredient, along with the merging of various styles to create some truly brilliant dishes. Loved having the chefs come out to introduce us to dishes, and giving their own stories about what the dishes mean to them. Overall service was out of this world - we were so well looked after!

Fabulous meal using quality ingredients, an inventive menu, outstanding staff and service. We have eaten at many Michelin* restaurants over the years, but this is one of the best! We particularly liked that we were seated at a table with a good view of the kitchen, so were able to watch our meal being prepared and plated. Each course was then brought to the table by either Ben Wilkinson, or one of the team who explained what everything was. Each course on the tasting menu was very different so the totality of the meal was well balanced. The flavours within every plate were complex, sometimes surprising, but always a delight. We loved the way the flavours in a single mouthful changed as it was chewed and swallowed. Staff achieved the perfect balance of efficiency and friendliness. The wine flight was on the expensive side, but we are not big drinkers so shared one between us - which the sommelier was happy to accommodate. My biggest regret is that this restaurant is not closer to where we live. Thank you to everyone who helped create and serve this meal - you are a credit to your profession and well deserving of your accolades.

Had high tea with my sister ,as it was a belated christmas present from her son who happens to live just down the road from you as i was over from Australia on business, the high tea was lovely ,service good ,but the price which we were charged for a bottle of RVs sparkling Rosa wine was deplorable and a bottle of sparkling water the bill for the wine and water came to just over a hundred pounds ,i did a bit of research and found that was double the price of the wine, needless to say i will not be recommending your hotel anytime soon and will let all my business partners know

We went for a Sunday roast to celebrate my birthday never having been here before. When we got out the car there was a nasty sewage like smell and saw the chefs smoking outside the kitchen. Walking in, there was a nice greeting from the bar staff. We ordered drinks and went into the garden but the smell was out there and the furniture is really old and tired and not very inviting so we opted to eat inside. We ordered two roasts and a fish and chips for our son. The roast wasn’t cheap at nearly £22 each and it was a good size but it was inedible. The meat was so chewy and the potatoes were really hard. I did speak to the bar staff and they swapped the beef for lamb but that was just as bad so I left most of it. My son loved the chips but the fish wasn’t nice so he didn’t eat it, it was all soft and runny like it had been frozen. We cut our losses and went to get dessert elsewhere. The loos are also really tired and outdated. It feels like it needs a lot of love and maybe a reality check on the pricing.

3 of us went to the Hornbrook for lunch , myself, my friend and her disabled brother who uses a wheelchair, it hadn’t been the first time we had been there, it was a few occasions, we had asked for a child’s meal for the brother as he doesn’t have a large appetite despite him being an adult and due to him having a high palate he can only eat certain foods, we were told by the landlady that as from October we would not be able to order from the children’s menu and they would offer lighter options, we explained the situation to her and she didn’t appear to be interested, we have made the decision to never go there again, the landlady is very up her own backside and it’s been noticed that she treats some people differently to others, also they do not take cash anymore and when asked why she said it was the brewery’s decision which I know is a lie because the Goffs Manor in Crawley who are owned by the same brewery do take cash . So basically I do not recommend it to anyone let alone someone with a disability

Scruffy interior - not clean. We ordered lunch and sat outside. Was given a box of cutlery condiments with various sauces to carry to our table outside. , the dispenser lid of the mustard was black with ancient sticky dried on mustard and dirt. i told the one member of staff who apologised, took it away, threw it in the bin behind the bar, but did not replace . No salt or pepper. Waited nearly an hour to be served.. food was dumped on our table with no apology. My sea bass was served swimming in oil. No waiting on tables ourside so not easy to complain after such a long wait. Moved inside as we were cold and asked for a coffee - the same one member of staff who was behind the bar as well as serving food, looked shocked and seemed nervous of such a request but agreed to try to make us one coffee and one tea but then came to our table o say she couldn't work the machine - so no hot drinks!! We left and will not be returning.i regretted paying up front for such a poorly cooked and presented and delayed lunch.

Saw an advert on Facebook for Sunday Dinner with "Kids Eat Free" so decided to take advantage, and take the family. My wife, 3 children and grandparents had a fantastic Sunday Roast and look forward to returning in the future. At £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 courses, the meal we enjoyed today offered exceptional value for money. Between us, we enjoyed 2 starters (both had smoked salmon), 7 main courses (4 x Roast Beef, 1 x Roast Chicken and 2 x Fish & Chips) and then x6 desserts (a selection of ice cream sundae's, chocolate brownies and cheese and biscuits). Given the quality of the food, and the service too, I would be very pleased to return on a Sunday when the kids meals are to be paid for...... it was that good. We already can't wait to return.
