Wonderful hospitality and wonderful food!! everything was great but the chocolate mousse desert was absolutely sublime!! It was possibly the best pudding I have ever had - certainly the best I can remember - it was one of those things where you have to stop and just savour every mouthful! Silky smooth chocolate mousse with a quenelle of cointreau Chantilly cream and a fantastic chocolate crumb! Words can't do it justice you must try it !!

A veggie and a vegan had lunch, open sandwiche with cauliflowet and chick pea bajis, absolutely delicious and good size portion. Other food that was being brought out looked equally as good. Being mid week it was quiet, so service ok but i can imagine if it was busy, it would be a long wait. Could do with another veggie/ vegan option on menu, main courses, as this is limited Woman serving, i believe is manager not friendly, didn't smile back when i smiled at her, no idea why she dies the job as clearly doesn't do people!

I ordered the liver and Bacon, the meal was incredibly bland and the liver itself was practically raw - more grizzle then anything else. I have been here twice and was disappointed by the food both times. Won't be coming back.

Trevlig miljö i typisk engelsk landsbygdsstil. Väldigt trevlig personal och riktigt god och vällagad mat.

1st off let me say the staff are lovely, they are friendly, warm and welcoming. The property is picturesque, quaint, filled with old world charm. Unfortunately the food doesn’t match as it is below par vs surrounding pubs in the area. Going there for Sunday lunch, the restaurant area was packed with dinners, they weee probably on their 3rd sitting of the day. Starters of deep fried Camembert was good, the nachos were a bit sad with the topping of only a hard melted cheese, tomato salsa but then we are used to Mexican food in the US. The main courses were the disappointing part, the fish and chips, the batter was oily and flat, not chips but potato wedges that were soft but without the crispy edge and rock hard peas. The roast lamb that was ordered tasted more like roast beef and it was chewy and stringy with hard veins of fat. Cold hard roast potatoes that also had no crispy edge, the award winning gravy was watery and tasteless. Accompanying vegetables were good, soft and hot. Cheese board was okay but expensive at 10.95. The whole meal for 2 came in at just over 100 pounds which is not cheap for a pub meal

We had a really lovely roast dinner here! The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. Before lunch from the carpark we did a 2 hour walk through green meadows and woodland. This pub is a great spot for food and a beautiful countryside walk.

We felt so welcome and taken care of! Such a cozy pub in a gorgeous location and lovely surroundings. They have an extensive beer list and it's such a good pit stop if you are in the area!
