Lovely pick me up after a trip to the Undertakers. This is an awesome coffee shop with little nooks and crannies to eat in, indoors, out under the warmth of the long table with hot water bottles, blankets and patio heaters and then over the little bridge onto the grassed area too. Great menu choice attentive staff too. Gonna try the mixed platter next time.

Group of old friends from far and wide reunited here on Friday lunchtime, unfortunately for a sad occasion. Landlady could not have been more understanding and welcoming and did all she could to make us comfortable. Food was lovely, atmosphere friendly and relaxed. A lovely place to spend time with loved ones and enjoy their company. Thank you.

25th May 2025 Another excellent visit, the staff are so friendly and helpful, we sat in the garden by the river it was bliss, the hunters chicken schnitel was lovley 8th January 2025 we saw the light lunch offer on facebook so thought we would pop in and give it a go the food was good portions as advertised, the main meal is small but starters and desserts make up for it, the service was excellent as always. Russ and his team did a really good job. 19th September 2024 we saw a new menu advertised, so popped in the sad thing is chicken in a basket has gone, so we had katsu curry instead which was really good, staff were as good as always however Russ looked a little stressed think new menu teething problems were getting to him. June 2024 garden packed and pub full service a little slow but worth the wait, this is one of our favourite pubs March 2024, free beer when it rains, wow my husband loved his IPA the service was impeccable as always and the food was good. 2024 Jan great lunch at the fish, we really enjoyed the beef and ale pie with mash and veg, Gareth was welcoming and the service was good. 2022 Been using the fish for years just keeps getting better, love sitting in the garden in the summer, cold drink, hot food great environment. original review First day back in the pub, we have dined in the garden over the last 2 weeks and that was nice, but cold, today we booked for lunch and thank you Boris we were allowed to sit inside doors and windows open to let fresh air in but still warmer and drier than outside, staff all wearing masks but you could see in there eyes they were happy to be back to some sort of normality. food and drinks were all excellent but they always are here, Thank you for making our day special;-)

Went for lunch with friends on a Saturday and although it was very busy there are a lot of tables with a steady turnaround so we managed to get a table very quickly. The system is to order at the counter then food and drinks are delivered to the table via an electronic tag that they give you at the counter, which is very efficient. Two of us ordered sandwiches and two jacket potatoes and the portions were ample and the food tasty. The only minor negative points I have is that the drinks arrived quite a while before the food so our teas were cold before the food arrived, but in hindsight I suppose that we could have asked for them all to be delivered at the same time. Also all sandwiches included fries in the price and we would have preferred the choice of just a sandwich with the option to add fries if required. All in all though a nice lunch at a reasonable price.

Staff (Matt) very friendly and helpful, good service, good vegetarian options. The bar is also dog friendly area.

Amazing service, lovey staff. The room however, let them down. The mattress was awful, could feel every spring on it. The shower leaks at the controls and there was very thick dust on the radiator which you could smell while heating was on. The staff were awesome but unfortunately can't give a high score. We regret paying for 2nights as only stayed for 1 but if the issues are sorted, would love to try again.

Expensive for what is clearly budget supplied food for a standard breakfast. For £1.50 more you could have their top meal treble most items but too much to eat. I had finished my breakfast and went to the toilet leaving my cup of tea to be finished on my return and my coat still on the chair. On my return the table had been cleared by a rude waitress. To be fair, the proprietor did offer me a replacement tea but it shouldn't have happened in the first place being so eager to clear an obviously occupied table. It is a typical roadside caff but expensive and rude service.
