Titchfield Mill Pub in Fareham

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Excellent food, decent price and very friendly and helpful waitress. Will recommend and return in the near future

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received today by Matt and manager Lauren. I ordered from the set menu 2 course. And ordered a starter and a main £25. The starter I ordered was the cambert to which matt said do I want this for 1 person or 2. I clearly told him it was for 1 person. Then my friend ordered off the set menu a starter and a main for £25. She ordered chicken bites. Once it came to the bill matt told us verbally a price to which this came to a higher amount than anticipated. That's because matt didn't put our food through as a set menu price. So once again he came back with another price but again this was not what we anticipated. He then went off and decided to finally give us a receipt to show us what we was paying for and it turned out that the cambert starter classed as both of our starters. Serves 2. so the receipt was telling us to pay for the extra starter. This was NOT the option that was given to us when we ordered by Matt. He asked us if the starter was for one person giving us that option and not clearly telling us that if my friend ordered a starter aswell that it would be extra and the cambert would class as her starter to. We asked to speak to a manager to which a very rude lady came over with attitude and said abruptly the menu says cambert serves 2. But we had already just told her that matt gave us the option for 1. Also just because the menu states it serves 2. That doesn't mean 1 person cant eat that to themselves which is why we thought matt gave us this option for.1 person. . It does not clearly state on the menu at all that the cambert is a starter for 2 people only and you cannot order this alone for 1 person. Lauren was so unprofessional. Rude. Argumentive. And didn't not understand why we were mislead by Matt. I was not happy being forced to pay for something that was not clearly stated to us by Matt and was not clearly stated on the set menu! It also did not state a supplement charge if 1 person was to eat this and giving the option that matt gave us for 1 person to eat. Overall my experience today has left me feeling upset and embaressed by the way we were spoken to and treated by Lauren!

Attended with some work colleagues, on a Friday evening, our server was Matt who was delightful, he was helpful and polite, we all had three courses some from the standard menu some from the weekend menu, all the food was tasty and well presented and the plates were warm, the staff bringing the drinks were polite and engaging, the atmosphere was chilled and it was nice to sit and eat and be able to hold a conversation, and all round lovely experience, I cannot remember the chef for the evening but he did an excellent job and will be going back with family

Mathew gave us great service and the food Connor in the kitchen made was delicious.

Food was not a good as it used too not very tasty veg under cooked potatoes very dry meat not a lot and a bit dry

Order was late and order was not complete. Just Eat offered refund but only as a credit on my account. Not happy!

Fantastic Sunday roast, food was delicious and service from Zoe was fantastic! Would definitely recommend.

We were tempted to have a midweek outing because we were offered a 50% discount on our main course. We enjoyed our food and our waiter Matt was very nice and patient with us. By the way, I tried to enter my date of birth but couldn't get it register, it is 25/01/1946.

Visited today (02/02/2025) for a Sunday lunch, party of four adults. We were served by Matthew & the chef was Connor. Had a fantastic afternoon, food was delicious and Matthew and all other staff were great! Catered well for one vegan and one vegetarian guest too! Thank you very much, we’ll definitely be visiting again.

The garlic bread was extremely burnt, to the extent it was inedible and I eat most things. It was really unpleasant. The halloumi fries were really nice and delivery was quick.

Have been to the Titchfield Mill a number of times and they never fail to disappoint. We were served by Matthew who went above and beyond with his knowledge of the menu and recommendations. The food was delicious, cooked by chef Gary. A lovely warm restaurant serving great food and with a great atmosphere. I’m sure we will be returning again soon.

Great customer service and delicious food.

Went with a friend for a substantial lunch. Last time I went here was many years ago but it hasn't basically changed. Nice ambience, the seating is in many "rooms" so it feels cosy and never too noisy. The staff were very good, we were served by Bryony. I had one of the specials, pan fried lamb on potato gratin, tenderstem broccoli and roasted carrots with a rich jus. It was excellent. My friend enjoyed her haddock and spinach fishcakes. We both had the salted caramel profiteroles for dessert, which were also very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, good food and very good service, can't ask for more.

Harry the chef cooked the most amazing meal, I highly recommend dining here. Matthew our waiter was the most polite gentleman who had manners and respect for our table. Matthew saw that it was my mum's birthday and organised a complementary ice cream with chocolate written happy birthday.

This place is so lovely and definitely good value for money the food and service was amazing, me and my familiar had the streak pie , mac and cheese, lasagna and lamb shank all amazing with so much flavour! And our waitress Bryony was the kindest most politest person, I do not usually tip or leave reviews as most waitresses/waiters are not always this polite but she she went above and beyond and constantly checked if we was okay and apologised if it was to long, which is wasn’t to long anyway! I could not of asked for better service, Thank you so much Bryony!

Ths used to be a great place with great food unfortunately this has changed the food was ok but not the same from when I last came a year ago and we were left waiting to beserved for 10 minutes and after our drink order was taken I took another ten to get them. I could understand if the place full but it was fairly quiet.

Good prices and food was lovely

Very happy after my first visit here and will definitely be returning. Lovely and very friendly service from Matthew. He told us our chef today was called Gary and I wish I could have thanked him personally as our food was incredible. The atmosphere inside is cosy and homely, especially after being lucky enough to sit next to the open fire. Looking forward to coming back in the summer to sit in the garden next to the mill too. Came to the titchfield mill in fareham for my mother in laws birthday. We left ballons and banners 2 hrs prior to the meal. Zoe are waitress set up before we came and it looked outstanding. Food , service was all amazing! Will defo be back! Zoe went above and beyond!

Excellent service by “Matt” who was a great host, he had a good sense of humour and great people skills. He explained the menu and the specials to us and was able to answer any questions regarding the dishes. The food was lovely! Tasty and served hot, so many restaurants do not serve the food hot enough, this was perfect. Will definitely return.

A friendy welcome and great service with reasonably priced food delivered in a timely manner during a very busy lunchtime period.

Waitress was new, very polite, very diligent but clearly rushed off her feet and appeared to be on her own with little or no support. Service was slow and drinks took 25 minutes to arrive. Food when it came out had clearly been sat on hot plate waiting to be brought to us, both lasagnes had to be sent back as luke warm. Rest of food okay. Won’t be in a hurry to return to eat.

My partner told me when she booked that it was my 75th birthday yesterday and it was on the confirmation and asked for a small cake with a candle but nothing very disappointed. This was last night.
