Lovely looking pub was looking forward to Sunday roast given all the rave reviews. I ordered the beef and really wish I hadn't completely inedible. Even my non fussy husband had a go as he felt a bit embarrassed with me not eating it but even he couldn't eat it. This must be the worst beef I have ever eaten or attempted too couldn't even cut it with a knife it was that tough. As previous poster mentioned the waitress was not pleasant and seemed to have a sour undertone. She must be fun to work with! Obviously won't be going back.

Ordered beef Sunday roast. Huge Yorkshire pudding that was burnt, beef completely tough couldn't even cut it with a knife so had to leave the whole lot. Worst beef I have ever had All served up by some strange elderly lady who appeared to have a huge chip on her shoulder. First and last visit.

After reading all the fantastic reviews we were keen to try out the newly owned queens head. What a total disappointment it was. We’d booked a table for 10am and at 10.50 we were still waiting for our cups of tea and definitely no sign of our much awaited breakfast. The waitress was quite possibly the most nonchalant bordering on rude server I’ve ever encountered. After an hour and 3 enquires later with no sign of our food or drinks we left hungry, thirsty and disappointed. I understand sometimes there’s a wait for food when things are busy but there’s no excuse for the bad attitude of the waitress. Personally I wouldn’t bother going there again.

Group of three, following long circular walk from Titchfield, opted for lunch in the village and chose the Queens Head as it was open with a blackboard advertising food. Found out there was a new landlord, only on his tenth day. The staff were very friendly and had printed a lunchtime menu with good choices. The special of the day was lamb shank which two of us opted for. It was superbly cooked and served with veg, mash and excellent gravy. There was also a good selection of drinks and beers on tap. We sat outside, but could have chosen either the bar or the restaurant (another bar really) to eat. Having never been in previously, partly because the pub looked rather dated from the outside, this turned out to be a great experience; internally it is lovely and other guests were complimentary about the food. Cant speak for previous times, but the new landlord is clearly doing a great job and deserves the support of locals and visitors. I thoroughly recommend and hope business picks up and the Queens Head thrives once more. Long live our well run pubs!

Today we went as a family of 5, had a very nice roast dinner. It's the first time of visiting the Queens head, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We were told that they were two staff down, which I have taken into account. The food was plentiful, hot and very tasty. The owner was lovely and very helpful, the young lad Sam looked scared and very new to the job. This is why I put 4* not 5* he just needs a bit of time & knowledge. Overall I would recommend the food in a lovely setting, in the wonderful village of Titchfield

If I could give a zero I would! I went in there with my partner, asked the barmaid for a vodka & Diet Coke which was delivered. My partner asked to smell the bottle of the Tikki mango & pineapple rum to see if he would like it. She said we could look at the bottle, partner said he wanted to smell it in case he didn’t like it, didn’t want to touch it etc. Landlady butted in saying “you can’t talk to my staff like that “! We had done absolutely nothing wrong, we were polite and were only asking! Landlady is the absolute most rude bar person I have ever come across! She had no idea what we were talking about . She had no eye contact and absolutely NO customer service at all ! Why on earth is she in a public facing position? Titchfield is a wonderful and friendly community spirited village. The Bugle Inn Hotel and The Wheatsheaf pubs (in Titchfield village) are warm, friendly and welcoming, however The Queens Head should be avoided at all costs if you want an enjoyable evening. I will never go there again! What a waste of what could be a delightful pub, run by a nightmare of a landlady!

I would just like to give a big shout out to Mike at The Queens on a Thursday evening. I don't think I've ever met anyone who goes so far above and beyond for his customers. He works his socks off! Not only does he serve, single-handedly, behind the bar, he also: serves the food, clears the tables, rearranges tables and chairs to accommodate everyone, makes sure that everyone is happy and comfortable and have all that they need, but he also finds time to host the music section of the Thursday evening quiz! It can get very busy in there but he's always calm and friendly, he remembers peoples names and their tipple of choice, he asks how you are, or how was your meal, and seems genuinely interested in your reply. So all in all a great guy and an absolute credit to the Queens Head. Thanks Mike!

I had been asked to arrange a meal out for a large group of work friends. We all wanted to sit together as we hadn't met in person for a while. The staff in the Queens head were very accommodating laying us a huge long table in a separate function room to the bar. We all pre-ordered our meals and when we arrived they were ready for us piping hot and the portion size was really generous. The quality of the food was excellent and even though we were a large group we were served quickly. This was a Tuesday evening and there were only 2 staff running the pub and looking after us at the same time. A huge thank you to both of them and the chef as we were well looked after nothing was too much trouble and they worked their socks off making our evening a great success. A big thank you to the team we will definitely return.

Hubby and I search the surrounding areas for fantastic food served for Sunday lunch, we came to Queens Head after seeing someone had posted that there was a new chef and the food was top notch! They weren't wrong, this is our go to place in between finding other places to eat, we could easily eat there every week, the roast potatoes are incredible, the Yorkshire pudding is colossal and crispy, the veg is piping hot and not over cooked, the meat is in abundance, lashings of gravy, ticks every single box! The puddings are amazing too! Really they are! 👏 Highly recommend this lovely cosy place, the staff are brilliant and very attentive at the right times, love love love this place, if you haven't tried it, you don't know what you're missing! We popped in for Sunday lunch after our camping trip and so pleased we did. The meal was fantastic, one of the best I've had. The beef was tender and Yorkshire pudding was massive. The veg was served separately and enough food to satisfy anyone's hunger. It was all extremely tasty. Service was fast and very friendly. We even entered the weekly meat raffle and won. All in all, a great experience and so pleased it's on my doorstep.

The Sunday roast is generous and filling. I don't have a large appetite but even the children's portion was still a little too much for me. All the elements of what you would want from a decent roast dinner were there. The beef was cooked just right. The roasties tasted great. Looked like the Yorkies were cooked to order. The gravy was good. Then came the Veg ! Can't fault any of it.

I have used the Queens head for many years now. But I wouldn't say I'm a regular visitor. When ever I do, I always get a warm welcome from the staff. There's always a great selection of real ales "my preference is H.S. B." And it's All kept and served in excellent condition. There food go'es far above usual pub standard's, can be served at the bar or in there charming restaurant. The chef clearly enjoys his work, serving meals he's proud of, that would put many a local restaurant to shame. Tasty with huge portions. There's, a function room and bar up stairs, that I have hired in the past. That in some circumstances is Free. Let's just say we drank there bar dry, big profit"s for the pub. No charge for the hall. With a free car park out the back. It's all there for you, a good old local, traditional village pub. "Cheer's"

One of the worst meals I have ever been served!I I was staying at the hotel over the road who don’t offer food on a Tuesday so was recommended 2 local pubs in this village, unfortunately I made the wrong choice and came here. I sat in the restaurant tucked out of the way, I ordered the steak with hand cut chips. The service was quite efficient, however, when the food arrived my eyes were immediately drawn to what I can only believe was the peppercorn sauce, it resembled microwaved mayonnaise that the chef had tipped a whole pot of peppercorns in, looked disgusting and was completely tastless. The description of hand cut chips on the menu, turned out to be frozen, not hand cut and hardly contained any potato. I hadn’t been given a steak knife by the waitress, so started to eat the steak with the standard cutlery, the steak wasn’t too bad but half of it was inedible fat. When I complained to the waitress that the food was terrible, she just looked at me blankly and then just walked off, no apology, nothing. I went up to the bar to reluctantly pay for the food, given I had complained I wasn’t offered any sort of discount and in fact waitress tried to over charge me, when I questioned the bill she rectified it. Had I not have been travelling n my own I would have definitely refused to pay for this meal, I had no option on this review to upload photographs Terrible food, terrible service

Firstly I love The Queens Head! I’m in there all the time, Sunday roasts, weekday meals and pub quizzes. We were at a gig in Stubbington but still wanted to see the Whitney tribute act at the Queens so we got a taxi to take us there. On arriving we went upstairs only to find that Whitney’s set had finished and she’d left. So we asked for a drink at the bar upstairs and the bar person said have you paid £5 for a ticket. We said no obviously, because Whitney was no longer there. The bar person wld not serve us upstairs unless we paid £5 each for an act that was not even on the premises? She was unfriendly and rude towards us, we’re 2 middle aged women for goodness sake, not exactly trouble makers! We would have spent over £50 on drinks had we been ‘allowed’ to buy them? So we went to the Wheatsheaf instead who seemed to understand the basics of running a business and actually let us buy a drink!

Very disappointed. Visited for a quiet drink and was refused service as I was paying with a Royal Bank of Scotland £20 note. Unfortunately this type of attitude still prevails. Yes, I know it is up to the establishment what form of payment they accept, but this is 2023 and I was attempting to use Pound Sterling. It is so sad when customer facing staff look weirdly at your money. Imagine the same happening when visiting Edinburgh or Glasgow and a Bank of England note being refused. Funny thing is, the Queen's Head are happy to sell you Scottish whisky, but not take that old fuddy duddy money from 'up there' as Scotland was described. The Titchfield Mill welcomed me, accepted my dreaded £20 from Scotland, provided a very comfortable chair and plenty of delicious beer. It's nice to feel welcome and I know where I will be returning on my multiple trips over the next year.

Sunday lunch had beef which was ok vegetables as well, roast potatoes x3 2 were over cooked the 3rd was so black it should of never left the kitchen. Other meal fish coujons...they were not like the normal ones that would have more like fish in batter although 3 which was generous, so called chips were well over cooked and very dark tarta sauce was underneath most of the meal which I think should of been in ramikin separate. When plates were collected and mentioned all this just got a blank look and said would pass onto chefs,1 chef came out but went to the other table (think it might of been someone connected to pub) and asked if all was OK reply was yes so I would think that they didn't want to speak to us.Just before leaving another member of staff asked about the meals explained to them the situation but only got a sorry manager not here and will speak to chefs. There was not even a gesture of good will like a free dessert.Pretty poor in my view.

Local pub for local people. Got ignored trying to get a pint. Got looked at like an alien for asking where the toilet is. Had to force myself into this gap in the bar to get served. Sort your locals out, they make your customers feel uncomfortable

For a typical local GreenKing pub the meal we have just had truly merits the five stars. The service was prompt and friendly. The food including a roast dinner was excellent. Especially good is the gammon steak which is always melt in the mouth juicy and tender.

Service is very friendly and they provide newspapers, magazines and board games so this is a good place to sit and nurse a cup of coffee. Food is good value for money.

Forget the pub - the food here is really very good and they sell beer! The food is freshly cooked, well presented and quickly served. We were four adults and two children and we all chose different dishes ranging rom the quiche of the day to soup, a Full English, chilli, fish and chips ........ no complaints from anyone. Service is excellent. A gem of a place!
