Came here on Wednesday 19th march for a meal for my partner's birthday, brilliant service, food was fantastic and although we don't live close by, we will definitely be coming back for another meal.

Friendly staff, food good value for money! Nice atmosphere with lots of locals. Clean and tidy, overall a pleasant experience.

First time for many years. Sunday lunch looked great. Visited with family. The only ale available was Timothy Taylor Landlord as the other 2/3 pumps had run out by mid-afternoon. Pleasant experience all the same.

Finally a gluten free roast dinner in the SO31 postcode! Amazing value for such huge portions (both adult and child) good choice of meats, with roast potatoes, steamed veg, enough gravy to have a bath in AND you get Yorkshire puddings AND stuffing! Very nice to have a roast that is of equal quality to the gluten-containing one. Desserts are the classics, very happy to see a sticking toffee pudding on the menu also. Service was swift (very handy when you have a little person with you) and we enjoyed the garden and play area afterwards too. Looking forward to returning!

We have had a girls football event in the outdoor room and the staff, facilities and food were great!

We came and hoc without booking and on a Sunday lunchtime and they were able to fit us in. Thank goodness as the food was fantastic, very tasty 😋, plentiful, cooked to perfection and all fresh veg too. Even came with a full gravy boat with our Sunday roasts which is a great touch. Staff all very welcoming and friendly. Even though football was on it didn't distract from a lovely Sunday lunch. We'll definitely be coming back. Thank you!

Just had our baby shower at in the outside event space. The space its self was beautiful The food was absolutely incredible. Hand made finger sandwiches, hand made cakes. Beautifully presented. People kept going back for 4th and 5th through out the event. The staff were attentive, lovely and so friendly. Thank you so much to everyone!

Fantastic pub. Friendly and welcoming. We took our two lab dogs inside and they were so looked after. Food was quick and excellent. Decent portion sizes also. I highly recommend this place!!

Lovely local pub just round the corner from home. Food and staff are fab. Brilliant menu and loads of Gluten free options.

First time here for a takeaway roast, you can eat in of course but takeaway suited us better. Ordered is WhatsApp the day before, communication was spot on, very responsive and helpful. Picked up the meals, freshly packed and portioned, piping hot. Really impressed as it was a proper home cooked roast with all fresh veg and roasties plus the best yorkie I have ever seen. Home made gravy too. Very good size portions, very impressed. Forget deliveroo and plastic roast dinners that are cold and twice the price. Go here to eat in or collect it, so worth the effort and cheaper too if you collect.

A chance decision to book a table for Sunday lunch at the joe, following a local FB group review. Booked about 10am via WhatsApp and confirmed immediately. Great welcome, great friendly service, lovely food and homemade puds. A proper local pub serving great food. We were lucky with the booking and timing as lots of tables reserved after 1pm. Walking distance and we'll be doing this a lot more.

Gorgeous roast dinner. Best I’ve had when eating out in ages. Puddings were pretty scrummy too!!!!

Some of the group had a roast and some ate off the menu. It was all delicious. The roast was just lovely. Highly recommend.

Had a great Meal with a colleague who lived in the area and dispite running late than expected due to traffic they were most accommodating to fit us in for a Table before the venue was fully booked for a Charity Quiz.

Went for a meal on sat 12 oct food great but think we chose wrong night very noisy birthday party could not carry on a conversation staff were great i think we will try again on hopefully a quieter night

Went for a quiet meal on Saturday night couldn't talk to our friends as they couldn't hear us 21st birthday going on really bad language not just from the men .but food was excellent really enjoyed it but evening spoilt by pub goers who also hogged the bar so we couldn't order our food and drink But as food was really good it hasn't put us of going again .

Grandsons birthday celebration, 28 family and friends turned up, all had a roast dinner which was lovely and the service just as good, lovely family pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Awesome hosts who go out their way to make those special occasions amazing. We recently celebrated a 50th birthday in the side wooden enclosed area, which has heating for those cooler evenings. They had a karaoke speaker so you could play your own music. We had dinner, and all the food that came out was so fresh and tasty, and the portions were very generous. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting to try their roast dinners, which look wonderful.

We've just had an amazing family dinner. Service was spotless and very quick. An important addition to the menu for us are gluten free options. As Coeliacs we felt safe to eat here and the food was absolutely delicious! Would recommend to anyone!

Going to the Joseph Paxton on a Sunday afternoon was a lovely experience, food was beautifully cooked, service was exceptional, if you haven’t been I would suggest to go , bar staff , Sarah and Crystal amazing staff

This establishment promotes itself as a 'family' pub. Good god I'm not sure what type of families they are trying to attract. The language was disgusting, loud and continuous. No attempt was made at any time , by the staff, to intervene The only saving grace was the food. Sadly, we won't be back unless the owners address this unacceptable behaviour.

We hired the side wooden area for my son’s party and had access to beer garden :) the kids loved the play area. Vicki and the girls done the buffet for 35 people and smashed it! Great food , great service , anything we needed they helped and got it . Friendly team and great communication. Would definitely come again! Made our day perfect 🤩

Took 2 takeaway roasts home and had the next day due to work commitments. Food was still fresh had so much on both plates that I had enough to portion up another one up for my mum which she loved. Was Absolutely amazing my other half ate the lot and he has a small appetite Definitely recommend and value for money

As a vegetarian I always find it hard to find a pub that has a good vegetarian burger. The vegetation burger was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend coming here to try it. Very welcoming atmosphere and lovely genuine people. We will be visiting again!

We were a party of 9 adults & 2 children. All the food arrived at the same time even though they were mostly different. Everyone remarked how good the food was. The children love running around the garden & playing on the climbing frame & slide. Nice secure garden. Fantastic food, can't fault it. Excellent value for money. Friendly staff & quick service. This is a great little pub, proper old school kid friendly pub. We love coming here for a Sunday dinner with the Grandkids, also love coming here for a drink without the kids 👍

I've been to the Joe for many years now. Sunday roast is great. However, I've been complaining that the price is too low!! At last they have increased the cost of the Sunday roast to a slightly more realistic amount, but still too low in my opinion. Will continue to visit until they outprice themselves... which on past performance will be a very long time. Carry on Vicki and team. Love you loads.

Great place, was quiet when i went there. Had a game of pool and darts (which was free) on the day we went, a few beers. The girl behind the bar was polite and friendly. Need more places like this!

First time eating here with friends. What an amazing place. The food was all yummy with huge portions, all home cooked. The staff are all super friendly and a special shout out for Grace. Having noticed the boards outside the Sir Joseph Paxton advertising gluten free food, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The pub serves traditional favourites like lasagne, chilli, sausages, and fish and chips, all safely gluten free, in addition to steak pie and other non gf dishes. Desserts are also gluten free, and the chocolate brownie is delicious! The pub is a 'local' and as such offers events such as pub quizzes; hence it can sometimes be a bit noisy, but the staff are welcoming and helpful.
