The Sir Joseph Paxton Pub and Dining in Fareham

Some of the group had a roast and some ate off the menu. It was all delicious. The roast was just lovely. Highly recommend.

Had a great Meal with a colleague who lived in the area and dispite running late than expected due to traffic they were most accommodating to fit us in for a Table before the venue was fully booked for a Charity Quiz.

Went for a quiet meal on Saturday night couldn't talk to our friends as they couldn't hear us 21st birthday going on really bad language not just from the men .but food was excellent really enjoyed it but evening spoilt by pub goers who also hogged the bar so we couldn't order our food and drink But as food was really good it hasn't put us of going again .

Went for a meal on sat 12 oct food great but think we chose wrong night very noisy birthday party could not carry on a conversation staff were great i think we will try again on hopefully a quieter night

Grandsons birthday celebration, 28 family and friends turned up, all had a roast dinner which was lovely and the service just as good, lovely family pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Awesome hosts who go out their way to make those special occasions amazing. We recently celebrated a 50th birthday in the side wooden enclosed area, which has heating for those cooler evenings. They had a karaoke speaker so you could play your own music. We had dinner, and all the food that came out was so fresh and tasty, and the portions were very generous. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting to try their roast dinners, which look wonderful.

Was there last night for a gathering in the amazing outside area. Was a great vibe, fantastic food, all reasonably priced. Would totally recommend.

Going to the Joseph Paxton on a Sunday afternoon was a lovely experience, food was beautifully cooked, service was exceptional, if you haven’t been I would suggest to go , bar staff , Sarah and Crystal amazing staff

We've just had an amazing family dinner. Service was spotless and very quick. An important addition to the menu for us are gluten free options. As Coeliacs we felt safe to eat here and the food was absolutely delicious! Would recommend to anyone!

This establishment promotes itself as a 'family' pub. Good god I'm not sure what type of families they are trying to attract. The language was disgusting, loud and continuous. No attempt was made at any time , by the staff, to intervene The only saving grace was the food. Sadly, we won't be back unless the owners address this unacceptable behaviour.

We hired the side wooden area for my son’s party and had access to beer garden :) the kids loved the play area. Vicki and the girls done the buffet for 35 people and smashed it! Great food , great service , anything we needed they helped and got it . Friendly team and great communication. Would definitely come again! Made our day perfect 🤩

Took 2 takeaway roasts home and had the next day due to work commitments. Food was still fresh had so much on both plates that I had enough to portion up another one up for my mum which she loved. Was Absolutely amazing my other half ate the lot and he has a small appetite Definitely recommend and value for money

As a vegetarian I always find it hard to find a pub that has a good vegetarian burger. The vegetation burger was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend coming here to try it. Very welcoming atmosphere and lovely genuine people. We will be visiting again!

We were a party of 9 adults & 2 children. All the food arrived at the same time even though they were mostly different. Everyone remarked how good the food was. The children love running around the garden & playing on the climbing frame & slide. Nice secure garden. Fantastic food, can't fault it. Excellent value for money. Friendly staff & quick service. This is a great little pub, proper old school kid friendly pub. We love coming here for a Sunday dinner with the Grandkids, also love coming here for a drink without the kids 👍

It’s a proper local pub, can get a bit noisy but staff are super friendly and the food really good and great value. Quiz night on a wednesday. Roast dinner on a Sunday, can even order as a takeaway

I've been to the Joe for many years now. Sunday roast is great. However, I've been complaining that the price is too low!! At last they have increased the cost of the Sunday roast to a slightly more realistic amount, but still too low in my opinion. Will continue to visit until they outprice themselves... which on past performance will be a very long time. Carry on Vicki and team. Love you loads.

Great place, was quiet when i went there. Had a game of pool and darts (which was free) on the day we went, a few beers. The girl behind the bar was polite and friendly. Need more places like this!

First time eating here with friends. What an amazing place. The food was all yummy with huge portions, all home cooked. The staff are all super friendly and a special shout out for Grace. What a lovely young lady super friendly. We will defo be coming back for another meal. Also never been anywhere with such an extensive Gluten Free menu , will bring my mum here for sure

Having noticed the boards outside the Sir Joseph Paxton advertising gluten free food, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The pub serves traditional favourites like lasagne, chilli, sausages, and fish and chips, all safely gluten free, in addition to steak pie and other non gf dishes. Desserts are also gluten free, and the chocolate brownie is delicious! The pub is a 'local' and as such offers events such as pub quizzes; hence it can sometimes be a bit noisy, but the staff are welcoming and helpful.

Ordered a Sunday roast takeaway after visiting for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago - thought we'd give it a try! I rang to order and left a message. Five minutes later I had a call back - so I could place my order. The lunch was was absolutely brilliant. Plated up with tons of meat and perfectly cooked veg and roasties. Separate yorkshire puds wrapped in foil and a separate container with gravy. All piping hot and thoroughly delicious. And no washing up apart from cutlery! We will definitely be ordering the takeaway again and returning for Sunday lunch at the pub before too long.

Decent pub grub, little expensive but tastes good. Nice for a burger and a pint or some chicken and beer. Sometimes does bbqs and that outside PS see my dinner in the pic below tells you all you need to know

It’s the first time we have visited in recent years, as we saw the board outside advertising a large selection of Gluten Free options! We had drinks, including a few GF beers…… and the GF fish and chips. The others in our group had homemade chilli, homemade lasagne and shredded chicken strips. Everything was cooked to perfection. Portions were generous, and the service was great. Really friendly staff and good atmosphere. Nice touch that we were able to put a pound on our card so that we could have a game of pool as well. All in all, a lovely evening. We will be returning soon 😊

Superb food again, Excellent selection for Gluten Free eaters. Kids menu very good and pizzas were enjoyed by the kids. Great selection of beers including Flower Pots brewery. Definitely will be back.
