The Silver Fern in Fareham

We have been up there a few times it's reallt good.We come from Netley one in few pubs that I have nothing bad to say. Give it a try

It used be a nice place but the new manager Sarah told me I can’t order any drinks because I’ve been at the pub down the road ( the hook) and apparently I spent too much money there. After I told her that I was happy to place a bigger order for 13 people she refused because I had been attending the venue mentioned above baring in mind that the pub was absolutely empty and lifeless and my friends were the only revenue. Then she shortly told us that we are no longer welcomed to stay in the smoking area/ garden and that she was going to kick us out. I have never felt so unwelcomed in a restaurant/ pub. I will never attend again and my friends( a group of 13) will never do so. We hope Sarah further develops her management skills for the better

Friendly, welcoming pub with a great atmosphere. Lovely food. Great outdoor space - both covered and open - for the summer evenings. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely spot for a bite to eat – both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are really pleasant and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great place to unwind with friends or enjoy a quiet meal. The service was absolutely delightful – the gentleman who served us was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. It’s clear that they genuinely care about their guests. Would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back!

Really enjoyed our visit to the Silver Fern. The staff were warm, welcoming, and really looked after us. Great food and selection of drinks. Relaxed atmosphere and a lovely place to spend an evening. Will definitely be back

Loved our visit to the Silver Fern Pub! The place is really nicely decorated and has a great vibe. Food was amazing, came out super fast, and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. The garden’s awesome too — plenty of space and a brilliant play area for the kids. Definitely coming back!

We were lucky to win the Burn a Bill competition we were so pleased as we never win anything the food was great and the staff were very friendly we would certainly recommend the silver fern warsash

We came today for Mother’s Day lunch, I haven’t been since the refurbishment but was really impressed with it. Looks great inside Food was really nice and very friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend .

We are so lucky to have such a great pub on our doorstep. There are so many great options on the menu, and prices are so reasonable. The food is great and a nice little play area for kids. It's our go-to place on a sunny afternoon.

Another lovely lunch celebrating an 81 birthday. Food excellent especially as 2 main courses were on £15:99. Staff very friendly. A great place to enjoy a meal or drink

Lovely local village pub that’s clean and has a nice family atmosphere. Always have nice evenings here with the family and dog. Highly recommend and the landlady is wonderful and super helpful, never felt uncomfortable taking my dog chihuahua with me because she’s part of the family. Keep up the good work Silver fern for being a nice mix of chilled at one end and more hectic at the other end of the pub.

Liverpool vs everton. A mixed group of Liverpool fans and Everton fans and mutuals all family got together and had a lovely time. great atmosphere and lovely staff. Buffalo chips and hot chicken wings went down a treat with fresh lovely beer. Definitely coming back for a footy/ foody night

Second visit here in 5 weeks ..both times very good service and lovely food.menu choice is great and the pub has a really friendly vibe.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We had a laugh with them and we just felt welcomed!!!

We opted to sit outside in the advertised heated area but were told the heaters couldn’t be switched on as they’d not worked since the terrace had been refurbished. Ordered via the app but staff seemed reluctant to serve us outside. Food came but no cutlery or condiments. Drinks were delayed and came after the food. Dirty table that we ended up wiping ourselves. Food mediocre. Overall not a great experience.

I absolutely love this pub for good quality food at a very reasonable price. Since the refurbishment it has become my local even though I have many others closer to my home.

Just returned from a lovely lunch at the Silver Fern. The food was gorgeous, the service was peerless and the pricing keen. Will be returning for a re-run very soon. Marvellous.

After our last fantastic experience at The Silver Fern, we decided to pre-book & revisit for Christmas Day & what a fantastic experience it was too! Luke, Sarah & all the team were so attentive to everyone. The Christmas menu was fabulous & plenty of it, all hot & most enjoyable. Compliments to the Chef & his team. All tables were safely spaced out & not jammed packed in to try & take advantage of the day. I was on double crutches & there were other guests in wheelchairs or using walking sticks. Very well catered for with people having disabilities. There was no rush to vacate the tables as there was a staggered, one sitting only with their ethos of quality as opposed to quantity. Well done to all the team! This was our first experience of doing this on Christmas Day & definitely to be repeated.

Three of us had the Christmas meal today at lunchtime. Top marks for food, price, service and atmosphere. And a very good choice of beers.

Post dog walk pint (or two!) and a small snack plate too. As always, friendly staff, good atmosphere - nice selection of beers/ales and the food is consistently good and provides decent value too. Landlady is lovely and helps make the place even more friendly. Such a dog friendly pub too - went back for the festive dogs photo shoot the day afterwards too! Love having this as our local.

Came for a Christmas lunch with family. The table was very well decorated and the service was great. The food was very good for 3 courses for £20 a head - nothing to complain about for this price. We don’t live in the area but will definitely return the next time we visit.

Bright spacious pub. Wasn't that busy (7:30 pm on a Thursday) so service immediate. Just had drinks.

Just come back from a lovely get-together lunch with 20 of our Warsash u3a Breakaway group, proir to a Turkey & Tinsel break in Llandudno. We had a lovely discrete area just to the side reserved for us, which is ideal for groups of 20-30. The service was excellent, the various menus offering choices to suit all size appetites - can recommend for decent food at an affordable price in a nice environment. If you haven't visited since the refurb - it's well worth a try!!

I booked a buffet meal for 15 people for my mums 70th birthday. We didn’t want anything to crazy just a gathering for family and close friends. The staff at The Fern were all so helpful and friendly to enquiring, phone calls and service on the day. the rest of the pub was busy with the rugby showing they put us in our own snug area away from the busyness of it all. Food was great and plenty of it. All round great service.

Went to Silver Fern for evening meal tonight after reading latest reviews. Ordered lasagne and meat pie. My lasagne was over done, too long in microwave and really tastless. My husband's pie was OK, but pastry was hard. Rather disappointed, would not eat here again. On the plus side, drinks were well served and reasonable price, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be in for drinks in the future.

Lovely friendly staff especially our young server Jess, very attentive and engaging, good food, some of our group tried the burger offer. Nice friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening.

Booked a month ago, preordered the food, arrived 10 minutes early. Still waiting 2 hours later. I’d give zero stars if I could. The worst service I have received in my entire life.

Went for a bottomless branch this weekend will definitely be coming back! The service was really quick which is always good for a brunch! The manger was lovely and welcoming and the two staff behind the bar Will & Shanna gave amazing service. Nothing was too much for them! Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

Friendly atmosphere in this pub, customers young and old and the people behind the bar are very nice. The place is spacious and clean. There is a garden at the back which in the summer gets packed with people.

Lovely Friday night vibes, very civilised and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend to many for its enthusiastic vibes. The live music was great.

Called into this local pub and was overwhelmed with the transformation to a Greene King pub. Shana served us, very friendly & polite. The pub was very clean & inviting & the food was very wholesome & excellent value for money. Well done to the team there & to Greene King for the fantastic refurb.

took my partner here for his birthday and i mentioned to them it was his birthday when booking a table and they put up balloons and a happy birthday sign on the table which made him smile. we was then met with amazing friendly staff and an incredible meal. over the moon with how it went for his birthday meal.

Greene King pub, so you know what to expect. I went on a Saturday lunchtime, and it was very busy, but the restaurant part was OK. Quite a small car park, but public one across the road. Staff very friendly, and food was good.

The Sunday Roast was very good. The beef and turkey were tender and tasty. As well as all of the fixings. Will was our server very friendly, professional and attentive.

Great spot to stop off at on our walk. Fantastic service from start to finish as they told us about a wait on food and when it got delayed even more they gave us free desserts for keeping us waiting. Staff are very friendly and polite would highly recommend

A great experience and lovely atmosphere since the refurbishment! Food was delicious and big portions with a great amount of variety and meals for both kids and seniors, and the staff were only too happy to help. The only thing that could be noticed was that the food took a little while to be served despite it being quite an empty restaurant but it wasn’t a problem for us. We will definitely look forward to coming back!

Went for an anniversary meal on the 16th August. 730 we booked for. Ordered our food. Eventually after many visits to the bar, and a young girl named Ellie being sent out to us to explain why our food had not arrived. What an amazing young lady she was. We finally got our food at 930. There was only 5 of us. 3 tables were waiting for food for hours too. Very disappointed with the so called management. Won't be going there again .

Lovley pub! we came in for a Sunday roast and was pleasantly surprised. Decided to come in and try the breakfast at the weekend, Amazing! And at a great price. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

I am leaving this review to give feedback for the “burgers of the month” having eaten “the Swiss”. I eat out regularly including multiple burger specialist resurants. I would gladly reccomend this burger, taking into consideration cost, taste and overall satisfaction.

Went there for Sunday lunch. We had our dog with us and could have eaten inside, but as the weather was so nice we ate outside. The outside area is quite large with the kids' play area, plenty of tables, and an under cover area. Staff were friendly and efficient. We all had the Sunday roast, two turkey, one beef, and one turkey and beef. Good size portions, food was tasty, but all our meals were only Luke warm and the roast potatoes were very pale. It was almost as if they had been boiled, then placed in the oven for 5 minutes. All in all a fairly pleasant experience

Love the refurbished. Cosy and peaceful. Food was excellent apart from the garden peas which were hard and luke warm. Will come again.

Visited this recently refurbished local pub at lunchtime. Bright, friendly, spacious main area with large gardens and covered areas. Ideal for both cold and hot summer days. Chose the Seniors menu, which provides a 3 course light lunch for £8, which was outstanding value, hot and tasty. Particularly enjoyed the Jam Roly Poly with custard as a dessert.

We were served by Holly at The Fern - excellent service and food!

7 of us out for birthday lunch. Love the new look of the pub, done to great standard. Pensioners lunch good value, all came together, nice and hot. Friendly barman, can't ask for more.

Had a lovely meal, hadn't been here for a while so inside was lovely and modern and very full for lunch time, very popular. Menu was all changed , but very good choices and didn't have room for a pudding. Definitely won't leave it so long.

1st time used since refurb,awfull ambience,place now set up for noisy younger set,if you want a quiet meal with friends go somewhere else, great difficulty ordering with people leaning on the bar infront of the tills,food and service was fine but will not be using again,due to disapoinment of refurb not impressed at all

Service at the bar was very poor. This was due to the football being on. However, no provision was made to deal with the higher quantity of people. A drive for you to order on the phone. Not always possible. Possibly not a fair evening to judge the pub in general. Decore was nice, and the staff were in general polite and cheerful. I'm sure on an average day it would have been better.

We have had 2 meals at this pub and it was lovely food. However the second time we went it was extremely busy and we had to wait 45min for our food. We did receive an apology.

Great place for lunchtime meals. Get served quickly they have range of cask ales. They have free WiFi via Cloud.

Recently refurbished and it looks great. Good selection of food on the menu with good deals available. Large outdoor seating area and play area for children. Parking on site and further parking available in car park across the road.

Shame they don't put the sound on for the football instead of the jukebox.

Recently refurbished to an extremely high standard, it is beautiful, and the ambience was lovely. Can't fault the food, it was delicious, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend a visit.
