Slightly off the beaten track but well worth the detour, you need a car really to get there but good free parking onsite. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a Friday night so we got a nice table in a window alcove. The meal is varied and our food was very good. I would recommend

No closed signs or apologies , all doors locked outside hours said was open as did online . We traveled for lunch and breakfast with friends and was very disappointed

We eat here regularly as it's a short walk down the river for us, and often pop in for drink or lunch during a weekend walk on the Hamble. Dinner is when it really comes to life though. It's always very good, with great service and atmosphere. It's sometimes noisy & bustling but with a great vibe, especially during the summer in the gardens overlooking the river................Yes, it's a little pricey, but has always been worth it. We hear that it will change hands soon, and that some of the key staff will be moving on, which is a great shame. We hope that whatever inevitable changes happen at Bistro 8 with the new management, that they maintain the quality in the kitchen and front of house, and that they continue to provide the area with something a cut above the rest in a great location. Our worry is that it will just become another average yachtie hang out. Fingers crossed that it wont.

First time I had been to Bistro 8 was on a Friday afternoon and it was lovely. But my second time on a Saturday evening was far from enjoyable. Staff seemed rushed off their feet, flustered and stressed. We felt forgotten about, took ages to take our order & some orders were wrong and the chicken burger (for the price is charged) is not worth it! The tiniest piece of meat ever where we even had to have it sent back due to first small piece of chicken being overcooked and incredibly small-didn’t even fill the burger bun!! No discount or apology was given. Very noisy atmosphere! Fish board was nice however this time really let it down. I won’t be returning.

We came as a party of 14 to celebrate a significant birthday for one of our number. We were given the upstairs seating area and it certainly was a day to remember. Our host was incredibly helpful and informative and the food was very well presented, tasty and good value. Sadly, it got quite warm and one of our group fainted and we had to call an ambulance - the staff were incredibly helpful and waited with us for over 1.5 hrs until the ambulance arrived - the ill person is now fully recovered thankfully. WE gather the hosts are relocating and we certainly will be visiting their new location.

Fabulous Sunday roast. Upscale setting. Excellent pizza and salads. Friendly service. Unique setting with seating inside and out. Good value for high quality, fresh and delicious food. Very busy. Reservation recommended.

My wife and I walked over from Warsash along the river and arrived slightly after 9pm. They stop serving food at 9 normally but the manager asked if the kitchen would do us pizza which they thankfully agreed to as we were famished! The pizza was amazing, cooked in a traditional pizza oven and really good value too. The place had a lovely atmosphere and good drinks selection. We will definitely be back 😀

Definitely give this restaurant a miss it is overpriced with small tasteless food. It might explain why the restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday night and to top it all you have to pay for parking.

My wife and I had just got back from a busy long weekend away and just needed a relaxing drink in great surroundings. Bistro 8 is our go to venue. When we arrived it was obvious they had had a busy Sunday and the kitchen had just closed. Cheekily I said it was a shame as I would have had a pizza, when Sharon went above and beyond again and got us two duck pizzas. This place and its staff is a gem!

A friendly welcome and a nice window table started us off nicely. The seafood sharing platter for starter was superb - shell-on crevettes, cooked perfectly, clams, smoked salmon, mousse (crab I think) served with fresh sourdough bread. All delicious. Needed more napkins and a bowl for shells, which were quickly brought when asked for. I had lamb cutlets which were beautifully cooked, just pink, and as tender as could be. The chick pea mash was nice but could have been more flavoursome - some garlic & chilli would improve it for me. Green beans “al dente” but not squeaky - just right. My son enjoyed his steak burger and the chips were excellent - golden, crispy & piping hot. I had the house red, a very palatable Pinot noir. All in all a delicious lunch in a busy, friendly atmosphere. Not my first visit but my son hadn’t visited previously and we would definitely come again. (Btw, beware parking charges recently come into force. You need to get a voucher from a member of staff, and stop to pay at a machine near the exit barrier - bit of a pain! )

Bistro 8 is a nice little bar/restaurant to visit if you're at the marina or taking a walk along the shore. The inside is nice and modern and the outside area is very spacious an has plenty of shade for those sunny days. Has a reasonable range of beer and wine.

This is the best place to eat in the local marinas. The food is good although we have only been here for lunch. There is plenty of space in the garden and a large number of dogs enjoy the space with their human families. There are a supply of clean metal bowls for fresh drinking water for our beloved pets. In the evening the dining experience is much more sophisticated with a variety of dishes executed to a high standard. As this restaurant is very popular we always book at least a day in advance.

Stopped off today after a walk along the river. Friendly staff and lovely place. We sat outside, blankets are provided if you get chilly.

Lovely surroundings, we visited during a downpour so couldn’t enjoy the outside areas. Service and food was fantastic! Amazing chips, fresh pizzas, massive pieces of fish. A bit pricey but worth it for the quality. Will definitely return!

I’ve had a few really great visits to Bistro 8, but they weren’t recent or indeed predictable.

Enjoyed a lovely lunchtime meal here with my teenage son. Fish sharing board was delicious and good value, idyllic setting on a warm summers day with the River Hamble sparkling in the background. Service was a little slow, perhaps the waiter serving drinks could also take the food order as it appeared only certain waiters could take food orders. Otherwise highly recommended.

Long wait at the bar, staff behind the bar didn’t even acknowledge me even though I was the only customer waiting to be served. Finally got served and found a seat. Whilst trying to enjoy my drink witnessed a very rude employee bellowing information at customers and shouting well you will need to wait at least an hour for food. Needless to say we had one drink and left.

Visited here numerous times over the last year, can honestly say I’ve never had good service. Every time I’ve been I have waited and waited at the bar, I was effectively invisible most of the time as far as I can tell. There’s been times when there’s been 3 staff behind the bar and I’ve just been ignored, it’s not a welcoming environment. The food has been good when I have dined however there are plenty of places around the area with equally decent food and better service. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely setting!

Miserable welcome and service spoilt a relaxing lunch. When asked maitre d' admitted wasn't happy and looking elsewhere.. leave, let someone else bring some cheer to the place.

I very rarely write reviews but I feel this is a must. Business table for 12 people and 50% are unhappy with their meal. Steaks over cooked, surely not hard to do a medium rare fillet steak? Chips over cooked. I did highlight the problem with the steaks but got told that they couldn't replace them as they had no more. We didn't bother with the chips. The staff were nice and refunded one of the meals but that's not the point. The food should have been better. Shame really.

Didn't feel at all welcome. Was with a visitor after a walk, otherwise would have left before ordering. Cake good,though. Will not return in a hurry, or recommend.

I have visited Bistro 8 several times. Sadly we will not again. Incredibly rude owner and manageress. Avoid!

Went today for lunch at Bistro 8. Weather let us down but the restaurant certainly didn’t.

We ate inside on a round table with views of the marina.

Booked three weeks in advance and requested a window table for six people , was over the moon to get what we asked for , the staff were excellent , friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu , the menu is varied with plenty of choices and specials , we will be back very soon !!

Went here last weekend for a meal and was a tad disappointed. Food was great but the attitude of the waitress left a lot to be desired, I felt like we were treated like an inconvenience and being snapped at which was a shame as the other waitresses later on were very good. It may also just have been our table but the music was very loud we had to shout to be heard and ended up leaving with a headache!

I can’t believe we didn’t stumble across this gem sooner. A great alternative to the nearby Boathouse Cafe. Equally charming, beautiful views, a friendly welcome and superb service.

Looked good from the river path. Welcome, greeting form the owner/ manager good. Attitude of bar staff not so good. Went up the bar twice and twice received our drinks and a surly attitude both times. Oh well shan't be stopping by here again.

Finally took my husband to eat here on a warm summers evening after returning twice before with friends. On entering we were asked if we had reserved which we had not. The Bistro was fully booked so I asked if we could eat at the bar. We were told no followed by "would you want to cook in this heat?". We were astounded by such a rude and unnecessary comment. If in the catering trade, you would fully expect to be busy on such a night, an element of grace along the lines of 'so sorry we are fully booked already" was all that was needed. As if this was not bad enough once back in the car park we could hear the owner slating us to the people (customers, staff, we do not know) sat/stood at the bar, along the lines of 'stood there looking surprised, fancy thinking you can turn up and expect a table etc etc'. Well not to worry, I will never return and we will make sure we tell everyone of your disgraceful greeting to customers. There are plenty of other places to choose from in the area. Shame on you.

Thursday night, spur of the moment, ten friends having dinner. We did book, but only earlier that evening, if they didn’t want our booking they could have said no. Location was lovely, restaurant itself was really nice, food was OK, table service was friendly.

We had a lovely birthday celebration for 20 of us. From the time we arrived to the time we left all the staff at Bistro 8 were so attentive and ensured we all had an amazing time. Great views of the Hamble river, outstanding food and impeccable service from the team especially Abby who went above and beyond to ensure our Mum had a great time. Would highly recommend for a family event. Thanks Bistro 8

We visited with 5 VERY animated 11 year olds after a paddle boarding session nearby. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and great with the children and us. Service was quick and food was great. We sat outside and the setting is lovely by the river.

Although we live locally we decided to call in here for the first time for coffee and ended up with a bacon sandwich too! Breakfast is a do it yourself affair although the coffees were brought to our table by Giselle - a lovely chatty young lady who told us all about her favourite subjects at school and that she plans to take Maths at A level! She apologised at the beginning for being new and maybe not as efficient as her colleagues in remembering what guests order. As they have wi fi they need to equip the staff with iPads to take orders and send direct to the kitchen. The prices are a bit high (£12.45 for two cappuccinos and two bacon sandwiches) but you are paying for a beautiful location amongst the trees and close to the river and the yachts. Bistro 8 was a surprising find amongst the industrial boat units. We must try their lunches and dinners.

Good evening on a table outside. Service was ok. And food was wonderful. We had a sharing starter pigs on board. This was really good, and quite large portions. It contained lovely sausages, and ribs and pork scratchings! All was delicious! I had sea bass and my husband had fish and chips all was really enjoyable and we would go again. We sat outside and it was lovely! Just watch out the drink prices are difficult to find as there is no menu. We asked for cocktails and these we put on the bill as all separate drinks, and it ended up very pricey.

Looked really good as we approached after a long walk from Warsash.. friendly at the door and sat in the beautiful garden. I drank my whole drink within 2 mins of being there (a small Diet Coke) and staff walked past me I’d probably say 30/40 times whilst I ate etc, was never asked if I wanted another. Ordered the tuna salad, the tuna steak was so overcooked it was such a shame, really really dry. The service was so slow, I don’t know whether we just got forgotten about but the bill was on our table for 25 minutes with my card on it ready to pay (I literally timed it because the printout time was on the receipt). My partner really enjoyed his pizza and the halloumi fries were honestly amazing - but we were just so let down by the service. Wouldn’t return to be brutally honest

We visited Bistro 8 for the first time at the weekend for a family meal.

We went for a birthday meal for a friends 70th, didnt know this place was there. The staff are lovely, food served quickly and was very good, we all had different dishes and all looked lovely. The staff couldnt do enough for you and all had smiles on their faces. We sat outside afterwards, which is very pleasant surrounded by trees, dog and children friendly and views across the water.

My second time in Bistro 8,I had Lamb,someone could say ,,it's a little bit chewe''but fore me was delicious,perfectly served dish nice garnish,as I didn't ask for table in the restaurant just sit on the bar and enjoying the semi bussy restaurant atmosphere,didn't expect best service but received more than that.from lovely welcoming lady Sharon and always Smiling Mark,Finely arrived ROMAN aka IRONMAN congratulation for the 3 place Roman.

The signs said take table number and order at bar, bar staff said no wait for waitress outside, waitress said go inside!! Eventually ordered from very pleasant waitress who told us about the specials so ordered poached salmon salad with new potatoes. So what actually arrived was very small, just green leaves and salmon salmon flakes with half a baby potato my friend had two halves in her bowl!! not much for £14.95 two salads and two spritzers came to over £50. Very overpriced. Have eaten here many times before and the food is of good quality but the portion sizes are just getting smaller and the drinks more expensive.

This is a local for us and Mark and his staff always make us so welcome if you like a bit of fizz their prosecco is one of our favourites

Dropped in for early dinner. Fabulous setting, but dirty tables, slow service, mediocre food and incredibly rude staff prompted us to leave after main course and finish our dinner elsewhere! I can’t understand how establishments like this survive with this type of performance. Learn some manners!

Have been here a number of times but sadly it’ll be my last.

We came here as a group of ladies, after a wonderful previous visit last year.

Had a nice dinner here. Seabass and fillet steak. The seabass was good although the whole dish was a little too oily for me. My husband said the steak was very good. Service was efficient and friendly. Will no doubt return as it's quite local for us.

Popped in bank holiday Monday on the off chance of having lunch, we hadn’t booked and they were busy however they found us a table after a short wait, Sharon is always so lovely and goes out of her way to make us feel welcome!

Went here with friends and truly amazed. What a beautiful setting over looking the water. We had a sharing starter which in all honesty was enough but as we didn’t know what to expect we ordered burgers for our main. Both delicious but couldn’t eat it all. Very relaxing and beautiful location, although you would never know it’s there. Will definitely return

With friends we stopped for a mid week lunch and did not encounter any problems with anyone front of house or those serving the meals. We have eaten here several times in the past and sorry to say the food was better then than now.

Esta fue nuestra tercera visita y, lamentablemente, será la última. La ubicación por el agua es agradable, pero la comida era horrible. Tuvimos un "langostino" y una ensalada avo. Las pequeñas gambas pálidas parecían casi descongeladas. La hamburguesa de mi marido estaba cruda. La carne apenas había sido cocinada. El camarero se ofreció a reemplazar el plato, pero cuando otros están comenzando su comida, es incómodo, por lo que se negó y les pidió que restaran el costo de la factura. Lo que hicieron. El servicio es increíblemente rápido. Los langostinos llegaron a la mesa un par de minutos después de que se tomó la orden y las hamburguesas llegaron en el instante en que terminamos el primer plato. Estoy de acuerdo con una crítica anterior, es muy ruidoso principalmente porque es un restaurante familiar. Si tienes niños pequeños y no eres quisquilloso con la comida, entonces es un buen lugar.

Un entorno precioso para una cena de lunes por la noche. Nos recibieron y nos sentaron rápidamente. Se ofrecieron aperitivos con un buen conocimiento de la selección de ginebra disponible. El menú es pequeño pero las opciones fueron variadas para todos los gustos. Una vez que se ordenó la cena llegó rápidamente y el personal no se había dado cuenta de que nuestros vasos estaban vacíos u ofrecían bebidas adicionales. Rectificamos esto al captar su atención y completamos nuestras comidas, que estaban deliciosas. El restaurante se vació rápidamente (a las 8:45) pero no nos apresuramos. En general, una buena experiencia y lo recomendaría.

Mi novio y yo a menudo tomamos café y pasteles o tomamos una copa temprano algunas veces antes, pero esta fue la primera vez que cenamos. Tomamos una bebida afuera con vista al río y los yates como lo hemos hecho antes, pero esta vez decidimos cenar. Era un sábado y estaba muy ocupado con muchas reservaciones previas pero lograron encontrarnos una mesa en el área del bar. Mi novio pidió la pizza de pepperoni y cohete y yo pedí el pescado y las papas fritas, junto con una botella de vino blanco. Se podía ver cómo se hacía la pizza y ponerla en el horno de pizza desde donde estábamos sentados. El personal era amable y muy eficiente, y ambas comidas eran extremadamente buenas, pensé que el pescado y las patatas fritas era probablemente el mejor que he comido. Sin duda vamos a comer aquí de nuevo.

The food may be good but you have to like a very noisy restaurant to get the best out the evening. It is not that there is a good atmosphere its the fact there is a cacophony of noise as there is nothing to absorb the sound. The main courses were very good but the sticky toffee pudding was more like a treacle sponge. I will avoid this restaurant until its a bit quieter

Had a amazing visit with my starter being garlic mushroom and my main being sea bass all Cooked amazing and the service was pretty good but definitely be returning.

This was my second time here, the first time the meal was disappointing but thought we would try again with friends visiting us this weekend. I emailed and reserved a table several days before to book but on arrival my booking was lost. Instead of having a nice table in the main restaurant we were placed on one of two tables by the main door so had plenty of passing staff and guests taking their seats, also cold by the door. The lighting in that part of the building is bright and not dimmed as it is in the main area. I had the fish and chips as from previous visit as knew that was OK, last time I had the special and it was tiny. Meals were Ok but no more then that. I did email today to complain but frankly got a poor response just saying mistakes do happen regarding my booking. I was informed that the two table outside the main room are part of the restaurant so no real uunderstanding of were the customer was coming from. Frankly if their response was more understanding I wouldn’t be writing this review. I have tried there twice now and came away disappointed so I think we will not be returning again. A great same as lovely venue. I must say the two staff serving our table were good.

Popped in last Saturday AM for a coffee and what i can only describe as frothy milk was served up.

Never disappointed. Fantastic here, especially in Summer! Great menu which changes regularly, staff are fab! Would recommend booking.

Have visited many times, but not sure we will be rushing back, has it changed hands? Because very disappointed with breakfast today, £12.95 is ok if the 'all you can eat' breakfast is something special but this wasn't, would have expected a bit more attention to detail, like hot plates being readily available, and the quality food, the sausages were compared to school dinner sausages!!

Love this place for its coffee, most weekends in fact! My birthday evening meal was exceptional on this particular visit. All our food was cooked to a high standard. We weren’t disappointed with our choice of red. The staff were welcoming and attentive. We have had the odd hiccup on some visits but nothing that wasn’t rectified immediately and certainly not worth writing a negative review about. Did the mention the coffee!

We were recommended to the restaurant. To be honest I was a bit disappointed sadly. Don’t get me wrong some of the food was lovely, the pig board for instance was very tasty. Some enjoyed their meals but my steak was bit disappointing. Overall it was ok. Most of the service was efficient and friendly. Don’t think I’d return, sorry.

First time I’ve ever written a bad review but a member of staff (blonde hair) was rude about not bringing my dog in today, which I had no problem about as I wasn’t sure before turning up & wasn’t like I was kicking up a fuss to prompt such a rude attitude, came across very stuck up. Before I even got chance to ask where my friends where seated she immediately shouted you’d not allowed dogs in here so much so people looked up to see why she was being so rude. I wouldn’t mind but there where dogs outside so she could have put it across in a nicer & more helpful way. Think she might need to work on her people skills.

We visited bistro 8 today for lunch with our two children. The staff were so helpful and welcoming, we were able to order the children’s food first. The food and drinks came in perfect time. Lovely atmosphere. The resturant was extremely busy, we were seated upstairs which had a beautiful view of the hamble river. Drinks and food were outstanding. I am vegetarian and had a lovely Thai vegetarian burger, my husband had a steak burger. The children had pizza and chips. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and the service was great. We will most definitely be visiting a lot more over the summer this year.

We walked from the pink ferry for hot chocolate and cake, there were pastries laid out, but only a piece of broken cake and a few small cellophane brownies, overpriced and not that great. We have been before and enjoyed the cake, but not impressed this time.i had to toast my own crumpets... On the plus side staff were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome

Wasn’t sure whether to try this place based on mixed reviews, but we gave it a go, unfortunately this was a decision we have come to regret. The food was unsatisfactory and even had a short hair in one of our meals. Unpleasant food, won’t be returning.

Winters day lunch, lovely food, lovely views, lovely building, and one of the nicest toilets I have seen!

Eleven of us were there today for lunch/early evening meal. The roast dinner really wasn’t very good at all. The beef was advertised as roast Rump but the look, texture and taste was more like Silverside; it was so tough it was inedible. We were offered lamb as a substitute, simply because we couldn’t eat the beef. Although the lamb was a little better it was not cooked well enough, on mine blood was running, which is great for beef but a bit longer in the oven would have been good for lamb. The sprouts were very hard and undercooked, now we like our veg barely cooked especially fresh veg, but if they are frozen sprouts as I suspect these were it really doesn’t work. On my plate I had one slice of parsnip and two slices of carrots. All in all no-one enjoyed the food, which it has to be said is not cheap. The waiting staff and the people taking the money at the end of the session were fully aware of the issues we had had with our meals but no attempt was made to try to make amends to a disasterous meal. We have left the restaurant all feeling that the management really didn’t care that much.

Not the best meal out, ordered braised beef which was lukewarm, very dry complemented by mash potato better suited to be used as glue....very sticky and starchy.

The location is perfect, overlooking the River Hamble and marina. This was our second visit and once again it didn’t disappoint. Food and service both excellent, can’t rate highly enough. Will be back!

Come here every year and the place is still excellent, this time met a new person "Abby" she was great very helpful indeed.

We stumbled across this by chance what a find, tucked away but with lovely estuary views over the water, lovely and cosy even in the chilly weather.

Visited this Restaurant for my mother's birthday . Party of ten. The food was really nice. Presented well. The prices are high but the quality of the food outweighs that. Best beef I have had. Scallops were divine according to the grandad .The staff are really friendly, bantered well with the party. Wines are nice. I can highly recommend this place especially in the summer when you can watch the boats sail by. Our party ranged from 3 years old to 74 years . The staff accommodated all of us. They were superb.

Nuestros amigos reservaron este lugar, comedor para 9, creo que en general. Una oportunidad para que podamos cenar, charlar y ponernos al día después de unos veinte años. Esta era una ubicación central con lo que entendíamos como un lugar con gran reputación, y puedo ver por qué; agradable. Y situado en el río Hamble en el país de la navegación. El lugar es compacto, lo que significa que cualquier mezcla en la barra antes de sentarse solo sirve para obstaculizar el equipo de espera en la mesa, esto frustra a todos los involucrados, aunque de corta duración. La comida estaba pre ordenada ya que eran un grupo y, en general, la comida cumplía con las expectativas, por lo que era de destacar que la comida al horno no era algo digno de contemplar, de hecho, era más bien hecha y difícil. El curry de lentejas con pollo fue excelente y los comentarios sobre las otras comidas fueron igualmente buenos. El spoiler fue la mesa adyacente donde un grupo de “niños ricos” de finales de 20 a 30 años sintieron que habían corrido y se hicieron dueños, se pusieron borrachos y esencialmente arruinaron nuestra noche, bueno, no puedo decir que se echó a perder totalmente como pudimos escuchar algunos de lo que cada uno decía. Fue una decepción que nos afectó a todos. Aunque recibimos una disculpa por nuestra partida, una mano más firme temprano en la noche se habría apreciado mucho más. No fuimos los únicos afectados por el comportamiento egoísta de este grupo y es de esperar que el negocio de este excelente lugar no se dañe demasiado como resultado, ya que estoy seguro de que se escuchó la reputación que realmente existió.

Después de haber tenido un agradable paseo por el río Hamble a Warsash, fue agradable detenerse para almorzar tarde con vistas a los yates y sentir como si estuviera en un bar mediterráneo en algún lugar. También obtienes 3. 5 horas de aparcamiento gratuito si avisas al restaurante.

You would never thought that this was down in a marina but you do not need a sea craft or a car to get here. The place is modern and the Toilets are out of this world. The Food was excellent and will return

Fui con mi hermano para la comida de cumpleaños. Comida encantadora Ambos terminamos con burgueses (aunque el menú es mucho más amplio que eso). Comí un pollo y él comió carne. ¡Dijo que era el mejor que había probado!

Llegamos al puerto deportivo y tuvimos una cálida bienvenida en el momento en que entramos por la puerta. Nos preguntaron si queríamos una bebida en el bar para comenzar, o si queríamos ir directamente a nuestra mesa: una vez en nuestra mesa tomaron nuestra orden de bebidas de inmediato y mientras se hacían nuestras bebidas, otro miembro del personal nos preguntó si queríamos pedir bebidas (eran extremadamente atentos, amables y bien educados). El servicio fue rápido, pero no apresurado, y la comida era muy buena, optamos por el postre también! (¡El mejor crumble que he tenido!) Tengo alergias y fueron extremadamente útiles, lo cual me tranquilizó. En general, una noche muy agradable, y sin duda volvería!

Rarely have we encountered a restaurant with such pleasant and welcoming staff. Although we were wind swept and in walking gear they were only concerned that we feel relaxed. “There’s no dress code here honey, just relax and enjoy” was the reply to my concern about being a bit under dressed.

I like it here as the staff are very friendly and they have a lovely seating area outside. the food is good and a nice range of drinks etc etc i like it a lot

We had my sons 18th meal here on Friday, from the moment we arrived our waitress went over and beyond to make us welcome and to ensure everyone was enjoying themselves, unfortunately they had some issues in regards to being short staffed so my meal came out cold 2 of the main courses late, but they owned it sorted it were honest which is refreshing as everyones human! It didn't spoil our eve and everyone in the party said what a brilliant night we all had!!

the last time I visited this place I said to myself I would never come back but there you are, anyway nothing has changed so felt compelled to share my experience with the hope that the management actually care enough to make changes.

The staff are really friendly, the food is lovely. The views are great as it’s right on the waters edge. A lovely evening celebrating our 24 year wedding anniversary.

Very disappointing experience at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago - the place looked good when we walked in, but the positives faded quickly when the food and service proved to be terrible. Staff were rude to the point of coming across as obnoxious and arrogant, particularly the guy in charge. Food was very average too. Avoid.

We had the sharing sea food platter which was a variety of delicious morsels. The service was friendly and attentive. It was very busy at lunch time so lots of people are in the know.

Good for dinner, lunch, drinks and breakfast. Nice outdoor seating if the weather good although can be very busy at weekends which pushes staff very hard to provide service in reasonable time

We went here on 23/12/2017 and my younger brother asked for ham, egg, and chips because he didn't want the Christmas roast. After waiting over 45 minutes, what can only be described as 11 chips, 2 slices of sandwich ham, and an egg was produced on a plate. The picture speaks for itself really, but I can't believe that THIS cost £10.41.

Hi all. Sorry this review is slightly late however I couldn't pass off from writing a good few lines. This was an afternoon out with my partner and two of my good friends.

A meal for my wife and I. Lovely setting with great friendly staff. Food was good. The night we attended the place had a large party upstairs so their was no gap between starter and main crse! Appreciate the place was busy but our meal etc should have been managed better. We still made a night of it with dessert outside over looking the Hamble. Would recommend to all and we will be back!

Visited on a Friday evening with friends. A cosy atmosphere and all our food was perfect. The service was good and the staff very welcoming. We will visit again.

Had previously been here back in April and had a bad experience, but returned yesterday and saw the waiter who previously had served us,I mentioned the last experience we had there and he offered us 20% off the bill, the food was so much better this time and the waiter was most welcoming, he definitely made the visit there worthwhile.
