Forget the pub - the food here is really very good and they sell beer! The food is freshly cooked, well presented and quickly served. We were four adults and two children and we all chose different dishes ranging rom the quiche of the day to soup, a Full English, chilli, fish and chips ........ no complaints from anyone. Service is excellent. A gem of a place!

We love it here, a bit pricey, but the food is of a high standard We ordered our drinks and food, and our server was polite and very engaging .We sat and watched an array of amazing meals being served. Generous portions, too,and we were so looking for our order! We waited and waited and waited and on and on. After an hour, we had had enough! We didn't make a scene but told our very young front of house that we were not happy with the service,we even paid for our beverages and left.Im sorry, but this was shocking service! The management must take full responsibility! You're taking your custom for granted and basically employing kids! They need supervision and guidance it's not their fault! A mature, safe pair of hands needs to be in attendance to oversee your covers!! It's such a shame

Great place to stop for drinks and cakes. Up from the beach front itself, but there are several useful paths up the low cliffs along the shore. Views over the Solent are blocked by the (currently demolished) Osbourne View pub. Which is going to be rebuilt. Great choices for cake or scones.

Unaccommodating and inattentive I can’t eat bread or potatoes so asked if instead of a fishfinger sandwich with chips could I just have a fishfinger with salad and was told that the chef won’t make any changes to menu items so had to go for the brunch and just leave the bread and hash brown - sad and unnecessary waste of food. Wasn’t once asked if everything was ok. When my water arrived it was just in a bottle and I had to ask for a glass and felt like I’d asked for the earth. Will not be going back.

With a couple of other local cafés closing down in recent months, We wouldn’t have been surprised if this venue had become a little complacent. Far from it. Straight up I will say that the coffee used in my cappuccino was possibly the best coffee I’d tasted in months. To accompany my coffee I also had a piece of banoffee pie that was absolutely gorgeous and had clearly been made freshly. The fact That so many people were in there for breakfast mid week is a real testament to how good this cafe is and we will definitely return at the next available opportunity.

After a long walk we found Breezes and thought it looked lovely. We went but I don't know if it was a bad day but we felt like we were an inconvenience and the server just seemed unhappy. We assumed it was because it was the lunch period. The menu looked good and we were going to get the all day brunch but after slow service we decided to get a drink and move on. Both the younger lady and older lady just seemed annoyed but there was a younger man who I couldn't fault. He was cheery, friendly and was quick with our bill when we went to pay. However, the two ladies put us off enough to not want to order food. It may have been a bad day but it did make us find somewhere else to eat as it gave a bad atmosphere.

Considering that this is a very popular venue we were somewhat underwhelmed by the “Breezes Brunch” we ordered. The sausages were dry and tasteless, the fried eggs were solid and the chunks of granary toast were buttered sparingly for us before we received them. The bacon was good, the tomato well cooked, the hash brown was wonderful, the mushrooms were well cooked, if dry, and the beans were piping hot. The sachet of tomato ketchup was the most generous size I’ve ever seen in an eatery 40 grams! The wait between ordering and the food arriving was about thirty minutes. Unfortunately we had finished our generous pot of tea for two long before the food arrived. Looking at other customers’ food we’d wishes we’d ordered something like a jacket potato that looked wonderful and the cakes on view were fantastic to look at (no room left to attempt to eat one though!) We will give Breezes another go, especially as it is dog-friendly, a rarity around the Gosport/Fareham area.

Little gem in Hill Head, across the road from our favourite pub The Osborne View (to be rebuilt). A lovely cafe, with an upstairs, it has a seaside vibe, light and airy. We both had a delicious sandwich, which to call a doorstop is an understatement, was made with really nice fresh bread, and they did not skimp on the filling, served with a small sideboard salad and crisps. Really good value. Will be visiting again soon for an afternoon tea, but I've also heard their breakfasts are very good, so give it a visit at any time of the day, I'm sure you won't be disappointed! #suppportlocalbusinesses

Update. Disappointed. I checked they closed at 4 when I arrived. At 15.29 i was told (politely) they would now shut at 15.30 so I was unable to finish my work 🙄 Although open for coffee n cake, I was told "the kitchen closes at 2pm" so there is absolutely nothing savoury available. Not even a sandwich or a filled roll. It transpired there were a few sausage rolls and the one I had was yummy 😋 This place is always friendly and relaxing. Unfortunately I was hungry today and when this happens again, I need to go somewhere else for savoury food if its after 2.

The first visit was lovely, tasty food and accomodating staff. However, I've been on 4 separate occasions since, during main lunch service times and they had stopped serving hot food each time for undisclosed reasons so the journey was wasted. I recommend trying to call ahead otherwise you'll probably be wasting your time, it's a nice enough place but I'm not rushing back for this reason.

You have to book for Sunday breakfast as it’s such a popular venue. We were there for 9 o’clock and had a cappuccino while we chose what to order. On a recent visit, I was sat across from an old gentleman 83 i think he said, a delightful cheery chap. And he said how lovely the decor was and wanted to take a few photos, memories he said, he first visited this cafe on the day his wife had been cremated 3 years ago. So this day, the chap took some photos and I believe a member of staff may have been in the photo. He was ordered most rudely, by a female staff member to stop taking photographs and to delete them with immediate effect. The old guy, was visibly upset by this outrageous attack. To the point of repeatedly apologising and saying he would delete the pictures. The male server thrust the bill in his hand, (he hadn't asked for the hill) and was told never to come back. I went outside when he left and he was shaken beyond belief and was jot feeling well. What sort of staff does this to customers?. I for one will never go back, and I'm sure he won't either. I am disgusted..

A really lovely great to look at cafe, inside is quite unique, and you have space to move, not packed in like sardines. Menu good, varied, and reasonably priced. We had a seafood platter, ham egg (cooked to perfection) and chips, and a coronation jacket. Water was available. All the staff were friendly too. Only one toilet, but it was clean. Tables could have been cleaned between sittings a bit quicker, I would definitely visit again. Importantly the cafe allows dogs on a lead, so great if your on a coastal walk.

Absolutely appalling treatment from the staff!!! My uncle took a photo of the cakes and accidentally got the girl in the photo by mistake..before he could delete as he knew it was wrong a lady from the kitchens came storming through the café demanding he delete the picture.. now bare in mind my uncle is 85 yrs of age.. can you imagine how he felt.. he was beside himself!! He apologies and deletes the photo to then have the bill slapped on the table demanding he leaves and as he leaves the very rude young man say ‘AND DONT COMEBACK!!). My uncle has now been having heart palpitations and has not been well since the incident.. HOW GOD DAM RUDE ARE THOSE STAFF.. Would never go back there again and suggest nobody else does!!!.. they don’t deserve any customers after their actions.. not the way to deal with a poor 85 yr old !!!.. We are local and visited for their festive afternoon tea. It was fairly busy so we waited a while for the food to come out but I think the sandwiches were freshly made so we didn’t mind. Fabulous assortment of sandwiches, cakes and scones. Good quality bread, fillings nice and the cakes were excellent! Far far too much food so we took some home. Definitely recommend. It would have been nice to be able to specify for example no salmon, I’ll have say ham instead (one of the other fillings, not something completely different) and the butter was spread extremely thickly so I would ask next time for much less. These are small points but would make a difference and maybe something for the cafe to consider next year? However, we both thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and will definitely be back next year for another!

Booked a Table for 6 for 12.30. It was on the 29th and appeared to be full. Turned up on time and stood by the sign requesting to wait to be seated soon joined by loads of other people. We did not mind waiting as it was quite busy but it took at least 5 mns for any of the waiters to acknowlege us and only when my husband said" May be someone will come and speak to us in a minute". At that point the mature lady waitress finely spoke to us and said we would have to bear with her as they were very busy. Eventually we were taken to our Table and told that the service would be quite slow and she appeared very stressed. In all fairness the main course came quite quickly and was well prepared and tasty. However the young male waiter taking our desert order was rather uninterrested and a member of our party described him as aggressive. He did not even bother clearing the Table before bringing our pudding and we had to push our crockery to one side . We were overall disappointed by the poor service resulting in our opinion from poor training and bad organisation.

Each year I arrange a Christmas party for friends and neighbours and this year we decided to have a lunch rather than a dinner as most of our friends are retired so no problem in attending lunchtime festivities. Breezes is usually closed on a Tuesday in the winter but Nicky kindly agreed to open the restaurant for our private lunch. As always Nicky produced a superb menu with the option of two or three courses followed by mince pies and coffee. The food was fantastic with most choosing the lamb shank for main course which was very large. Starters and deserts were also delicious. Nicky organises things so well with a spread sheet of people’s pre-orders so it’s never a problem for people to pay individually or as a couple with drinks included. Nicky is also good in choosing staff so Eli and Sam gave us excellent service. A wonderful Tuesday lunchtime!

By the time we ordered, ie after 20 mins, there were no sausage rolls, and only a small selection of cake. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t consider sandwiches or scones, cooking, and wonder why these were not available. Perhaps if you do not intend to offer anything other than what is left of your cakes, you should show your closing time as 2 and not 4. Have never come across this sort of lack of service in any other cafe, especially one that advertises afternoon tea. Very disappointed Breezes management.

Clearly pushing to be a place of choice to book near the beach and RSPB area here. Clean and tasteful beachy decor to greet you. Staff attentive and keen. Bit disappointed with the attitude on the menu to allergies and intolerance. Felt a bit hit and miss and not valued as customers because of this even though they did offer to swap some items like bread it ended up being without the salad and fruit that standard breakfast option had... Needs more thought IMHO or not keen to go again. All cooked well and no complaints overall. Everything felt to me like it needed that last push to get to five stars. I've visited Breezes in the past and enjoyed the food. I decided to pop in after a long walk to pick up some cake to take away. I noticed on the chalkboard it said large slice for £3.75 so I was looking forward to a naughty treat when I got home. The cake was whole and when the server lifted my slice and put it in the box I couldn't help but say 'that's a large slice??'! It was a disappointingly small slice, she simply said they were pre-cut to that size. I did feel shortchanged. The cake (banoffee pie) was very nice but it was gone before I knew it. Maybe change the chalkboard to a 'slice' so people don't get their hopes up!

Really nice refuge close to car park on way to the beach. The photos of the area that are used as decor are really amazing. Very friendly team serving you lovely food. The large bowl of soup kept us fed for the whole day.

Friendly, fast service, great food and coffee. The inside is prettier than the outside.

Four of us went to have dinner before going to the theatre but due to us having a rather late breakfast (I guess I should rename it lunch!) when we got to The Buccaneer we were still rather full. However, the fresh salad bar is a winner in this sort of situation and very tempting - so that's we had. Us two ladies found enough room to have the sponge pudding and custard ...... BEAUTIFUL ...... so light and fluffy. The staff were all very helpful and jolly with it and we'll definitely go back again as this venue is easily going to replace the other eatery up the road a bit more that we used to go to but have given up on as it has 'gone down hill' quite a lot! Excellent value for money with a good extensive menu. All the food we saw appearing at various tables made us wish we'd had 'breakfast' earlier ..... or not at all !! Another PLUS POINT for us is that they do NOT serve halal here.

Some of the group had a roast and some ate off the menu. It was all delicious. The roast was just lovely. Highly recommend.

I visited today after being on the road for a while and asked the staff behind the bar if it was ok to use their toilets - I noticed that it was customer only toilets so assumed I'd either be allowed or told no but thought I'd still try. The lady behind the bar was lovely and advised it was ok too. TMI but I was desperate for a wee but also wanted to know if they sold coffees to go but thought I'd ask after. Before I got to ask, as I came out of the toilet - I was immediately screamed at by the 'owner' who told me that I'm not 'in the real world' and 'do I know how much toilets cost to pay for' and that it's 'common decency to offer to buy a drink' as I'm 'clearly an adult' - as you can imagine, I was in shock and never once in the 20 odd years of my life have I been spoken as rudely as I was today. The 'owner' was pointing in my face, storming over to me whilst her staff and the little customers she had (not surprising) watched. The 'owner' advised I was told yes by Jane as she's nice, but she's (owner) not so nice and runs the place. I offered to buy a drink and was about to tell her that I was going to ask for a coffee to go, and explain I was too desperate to use their toilets before I could ask, but I was told no and to leave, whilst she shooed me off with her hands in my face again. I'd like to say, no wonder you moan about the cost of your toilets if your pub is as dead as it was today, every day. Maybe work on your people skills and manners, then you might have a few more customers and you won't need to belittle or be nasty to new potential customers that you could receive, that pass by. I'd also recommend enforcing your rules onto your staff, so they aren't put in this predicament in future. To be screamed at and embarrassed in front of people, whether their customers or workers was not okay, and I dread to think how you treat your staff - maybe you should get in the real world yourself or do something that makes you happy because you're clearly miserable and obviously need to learn how to treat other human beings. Owning something has clearly given you a superior complex that makes you feel like you can speak to people like crap - it is a human right to use a toilet, and I shouldn't feel wrong for doing so. I could've had a medical problem or suffered from mental health issues and being spoken to like that, and in a situation like that could've triggered me - luckily, I don't. I dread to think how they'd feel, being treated that way for politely asking to use the toilet. Overall, I do not recommend and will never recommend. Whether the 'owner' was having a bad day or what, I do not know - but if you are an 'owner' of a business, you should learn to put that aside. I say owner in quotations as that title for you is not believable. Go to another job if it makes you that unhappy - instead of spreading your horrible, bitter, and awful nature to everyone else.
