Visited this pub by chance as diwn in the area and meeting friends. What a great find! I had read the reviews and everything positive I read about the food was true. Lovely home cooked food, and very decent portions and prices. Can recommend the pie of the day, the steak and kidney suet puddings and the chicken tikka masala. The service was excellent too. We chose to have puds as we couldn't resist. The traditional steamed puddings were light and tasty. All in all we had a great time. 100 % recommend. Wished I lived nearer. Thank you.

Great pub which is clearly valued by the local community. Food was excellent pub food and the portions were huge. Was busy when we went (reservation recommended). We did have to wait 40 mins for our food but had been told that would be the case so chatted in a lively atmosphere over drinks.

Came here for family get together. The food was not great. The liver was so over cooked it had all turned to a mush no actual pieces of liver. The steak and ale pie was good.

A proper pub, not a gastro pub, that also does really good, inexpensive food. Beers are a well kept London pride and a guest ale. Dog friendly in the bar and garden but not the carpeted lounge so specify dogs if you're booking. Very small car park with street parking nearby. We had steak and ale pie, liver and bacon, and scampi and chips. Generous portions and tasty. Various chocolate sponges and brownies, and a cheesecake were also excellent.

We have visited here several times now. We sit in the bar as we have a dog, so this area is dog friendly, we can't comment on the restaurant. The food is always hot, fresh, and plentiful. Always served with a friendly chat and news about the menu specials. The pies are great! My Dad had the steak and kidney pudding yesterday!

My wife and I went to the Miner's Arms with a couple of friends for Sunday Lunch. The Roast dinners we had were delicious and the service, considering the barmaid/waitress was working on her own and it was fairly busy, was excellent. There was a nice homely atmosphere in the pub as well making us want to return again at a later date. Highly recommendable.

When foreigners complain that English food is bland, they obviously haven't tried it properly cooked as it is at the Miner's Arms. I may have had better liver and onions during my 68 years on this planet but I very much doubt it.

We made a last minute decision to go for a Sunday roast, and what a great decision it was! The pub has a proper ‘local’, comfortable feel - it is not trying to be anything that it isn’t. It’s divided into two parts - the bar, and the restaurant, and was bustling. They accommodated a family of 5 within 2 hours which is pretty amazing - being able to find somewhere on a Sunday in such a short time frame. There were a selection of roasts and all the trimmings on offer, plus the normal menu. We all opted for roast. 4 beef and one pork. We have never been given so much food - cauliflower/brocolli cheese, carrots, red cabbage, green beans, leeks as sides, with tender meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, stuffing and parsnips on the plate, and jugs of gravy. The food was nicely hot and beautifully cooked. And so much of it. We all agreed it was the best pub roast we had ever had, and although would like to keep it as a ‘hidden gem’ , this pub deserved a huge shout out.

Ate Sunday lunch here today as a family of 4 adults and one baby. All the adults had roasts. Food came quickly and was piping hot. 3 of us had chicken on the bone which was delicious. Vegs came separately and there was plenty of them. Loved that the cauliflower cheese was also in a separate bowl as I hate the sauce on my plate. Sophie served us and was lovely played with grandson. The young man also serving sorry didn’t get his name was also very friendly. Would recommend the roast here and will be returning. Toilets were amazingly clean! Thanks.

Warm welcome at the family run pub Terrific food. We just had a three course Christmas lunch. The best I’ve ever had. Ham hock and chutney starter was very tasty. The turkey roast was exceptional. Large thick slices of turkey, a slice of stuffing, bacon wrapped sausage. Massive roast potatoes, roast parsnips, all topped by a Yorkshire pudding. Caramelised carrots, Brussels sprouts, red cabbage and mashed swede. Lashings of gravy and cranberry sauce. Of course there was Christmas pudding for dessert but I had pecan pie and ice cream. Finally mince pies and coffee. This pub is a gem

A village pub with a long history. Mostly adorned by locals, sits on a busy road. Fairly tight car park, and limited on-road parking. Saloon and lounge bars, but neither are large. ‘Cosy’ best describes. Food is reasonable, has an extended beer garden under a marquee since the late spring. I visit fairly regularly but largely because of good friends who live locally.

My family and I booked a Sunday lunch at short notice and chose to eat outside under cover with Covid in mind. I ordered a roast beef with all the trimmings. Visited purely based on other reviews. It’s a small pub on a housing estate. The wall of the “beer garden” 🤣🤣 is the side of a Lego-house from the estate. Dogs were peeing around us off their lead as we waited almost an hour for our below average food. I can’t understand how this place had so many positive reviews...but it did seem popular with tattooed builders effing and blinding while sipping their lager-tops . Not for us. Won’t return. Plenty of other decent pubs in the area.

Went with my twin sisters to our village pub from when we were children. First time i had been through the doors in 50 years. The first thing of note is the building hasnt changed a bit either inside or out, except now you could actually see it. All was clean and bright and fresh and not yellow and nicotine stained as it was in the past. A lovely experience and i would recommend it, but sadly the village and our house has changed so that i dont think i will return. The pub itself perfect.

Lovely looking pub was looking forward to Sunday roast given all the rave reviews. I ordered the beef and really wish I hadn't completely inedible. Even my non fussy husband had a go as he felt a bit embarrassed with me not eating it but even he couldn't eat it. This must be the worst beef I have ever eaten or attempted too couldn't even cut it with a knife it was that tough. As previous poster mentioned the waitress was not pleasant and seemed to have a sour undertone. She must be fun to work with! Obviously won't be going back.

We love it here, a bit pricey, but the food is of a high standard We ordered our drinks and food, and our server was polite and very engaging .We sat and watched an array of amazing meals being served. Generous portions, too,and we were so looking for our order! We waited and waited and waited and on and on. After an hour, we had had enough! We didn't make a scene but told our very young front of house that we were not happy with the service,we even paid for our beverages and left.Im sorry, but this was shocking service! The management must take full responsibility! You're taking your custom for granted and basically employing kids! They need supervision and guidance it's not their fault! A mature, safe pair of hands needs to be in attendance to oversee your covers!! It's such a shame
