Really good Friday night spent here with a great traditional pub vibe. The staff are very helpful & friendly...also good to know its a dog friendly pub

We love the atmosphere in this pub the location is great and the staff really friendly will definitely be making it a regular place to go. So much character in the bar and the outdoor garden is great.

Just a great pub, location and dog friendly

After being something of a regular haunt pre Covid, it was great to go back again. Got a really friendly reception from Sharon behind the bar who went out of her way to make us feel at home. Made us feel really welcome. The food was delicious and great value for money. We'll be going back again really soon. The Tuesday evening quiz sounds very tempting.

First time visiting and wasn’t disappointed. The staff were very friendly/helpful and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The pub had a great country vibe to it and the food was spot on. We had starters which was steaming hot and as for the mains it was probably the best meal we’ve had in a long time so compliments to the chef. Definitely couldn’t fault it for the price either and will 100% be back soon. Thanks again Ronnie.

First time we’ve ever been here and the food was absolutely spot on. Best beef/chicken burger we’ve had in years. The starters was also pipping hot and tasty. The staff are great and quick service. Can’t recommend enough.

First time at the castle in the air . We went for a meal for my birthday after being recommended that the food was good. I had Katsu curry and my husband had a mixed grill. The service was excellent and so was the food. The two ladies working behind the bar and on the floor were very busy but still had time to make you feel welcome. We will be back and recommend them.

Lovely little pub on the marina. Great choice of food and drinks, our food (vegi burgers) arrived quickly, cooked perfectly and all served with a smile by the lovely Dean. Would recommend this pub to anyone, from a quick pint whilst out for a walk or a family lunch. Thanks for a lovely meal

Booked for sunday lunch for 7 adults, food was great, service was amazing nothing was too much trouble. We all had roasts and then puddings. Will be back for the roasts again that's for sure Oh and the Guinness !

Very nice pub. Food was amazing amd came out very fast and was piping hot. Even better with defence discount. Beer usual pub prices nothing amazing. Overall very happy. Will come again.

Food was vile. Server was abrupt and rude, and did not understand her own menu. Atmosphere was full of chavvy people. Would not recommend.

Came in today, thankyou for my amazing coffee, love the new lay out, has a great atmosphere and I will definitely be back again soon!

Popped in as my daughter asked to go dancing. The band started early so she could dance and started and as she woke she asked to go back to the pub

I am deeply concerned about a recent experience at your pub involving a staff member who displayed unprofessional behavior. During my visit, I encountered what I later found out was a staff member whom was massively under the influence of alcohol and was exhibiting disruptive and abusive conduct towards members of the public. This not only tarnished the atmosphere but also created what felt an unsafe environment for my family. Such behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on your establishment. I believe it is crucial for your management to address this issue promptly, ensuring the safety and well-being of customers. I hope you take this complaint seriously and take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future, maintaining a welcoming and secure environment for all patrons. I’ve never written a bad review before but it is not the first time this lady has caused me to feel unsafe in this establishment. I queried who this person was after I found out she also works at this establishment & her name being Rowena. I sympathise massively with the other members of staff who had to apologise of her behalf after she walked out.

Lovely pub with a good choice of beers with draught ale too. Live music is great to see as well. The TV situation is not for me but seems to be more common these days, showing my age perhaps. Have not tried the food yet but if the rest of the pub is anything to go by I'm sure it will be good.

This is a grotty little pub that serves up indifferent grub, the burger is absolutely vile but the scampi are ok. Chips are hot but tasteless. The beer is fine and well kept. The staff are rude and unpleasant , we went up to place a food order at one minute to midday and were told abruptly to go and sit down and wait until 12. It’s not that there was going to be a mad rush for food as the pub was almost empty. My advice is avoid this inferior establishment.

Always enjoy the food and services here. The prices are good too. Will continue to visit.

Very nice Friday night atmosphere, food was served quickly and was very nice would eat there again only 1 niggle thet were out of coke a cola , but sure that was just a 1 off and didn't retract from a very pleasant evening at the venue

What a lovely little pub. Came in for some lunch after starting teaching at a nearby school and I can definitely say this will be first stop on my way home. Ordered a steak pie wich was great and came out quickly. The real superstar however was the lady behind the bar. It’s so nice to be treated by a smile and a positive attitude. Locals were known by name and had small catch up chats and you can see they have a strong bases of loyal regulars and you can certainly see why. Thank you and see you soon!

Nice pub close to the water. Good beer selection and camra discounts. Seniors menu too. Nice pub. The only downside was the swearing from some regulars old enough to know better. Shame but I'd still go back

Lovely little pub with a nice view of the harbour Will be back again to try a Sunday roast after the Xmas rush Staff are very friendly and polite too Just be aware that if you don't like chillies when ordering a pulled pork taco then ask for no garnish as wife had to pick them out as she didn't know about this addition to the meal and is not mentioned on the menu either But it didn't stop her enjoying the meal once they were removed! 🤔😉😁😋 Like I said we will be back in new year

Absolutely delicious!!! We tried the Sunday roasts (one turkey one sirloin beef) and they were both so so good. Meat was soft and tasty, as all the other ingredients. Quality was great for very reasonable prices, staff was lovely and we got our food so quickly. We also got garlic bread which was very good and fresh. I highly suggest the place, loved everything about it and definitely will go back!! Such nice atmosphere.

I may only have been a couple of times but it is a old fashioned pub , which is a good thing to sit in its charming atmosphere ,not rowdy but very nice to be able to relax and enjoy your time in there ,sat just across from fareham creek ,so a decent place for a walk before going in ,food was great ,good size for the price ,bar staff very friendly ,did a lunchtime visit so not too busy

Called into this charming little pub to kill a bit of time. We decided to have 2 ciabattas. I had steak cheese and roasted peppers, my wife had bacon avocado and chicken @£6.99. Plus a shared side of chips. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again. Great menus to suite all ages and pockets.

Generally a good visit by music a little loud for a food pub.

A curate’s egg of a pub. Parking is always problematic. We have driven off because no parking is available. Although, if you can park there is more cars in the car park than customers. Food is not reliable when it comes to quality. Sometimes good to terrible. A one occasion, the roast only contained frozen items and prepared poorly. Staff and beer normally excellent.

All we order was 2 rolls off the lunch menu tool over an hour to come out and when did wasn't great at all

Had to wait well over 45 mins the starter of chicken wings were greasy and not worth the wait. The chips were nice not sure why a steak would take that long to cook. The bar service was slow probably because bar staff was eating. People smoking outside right by the where we were eating. I noticed that people were being serve before us even though we ordered before them. Would not recommend at all

Great little pub to go to for a drink or a meal !! I came in here last week to have a meal with my sister in law. She has learning disabilities and the staff couldn't have handled it any better. The food was brilliant and quick to come out and the service was outstanding! Thank you to your team :)

Pub was ok, but they stopped serving food 30 mins before they were supposed to.

Staff are friendly, good smoking shelter, smelled of piss tho. Still as above but less pissy so I've added a star Edited to add: practically no smell of piss but not quite worthy of 5 stars I reckon it's 4.5 stars now

Great pub but unfortunately bad experience with food. The chef managed to cook all our starters and mains at the same time, we were asked if we wanted all the food brought out at once. I said not really as by the time i eat my starter, my main would be cold. So we got our starters (pulled pork tacos) very nioce but hardly any meat. And then the main was clearly what had been cooked earlier and just left on the side to go cold and dry out. How hard is it to cook a decent burger. Harldy and cold chips on my plate and my friend had lots more, also cold. Sadly, i will never eat there again, it's not that hard to make good food, no passion chef!

Great pub. Beer Garden/Patio which is great. Atmosphere is lovely. Staff were warm and pleasant. My food arrived quickly and my drinks even quicker. (Maybe it was just when I happened to order, but pleasantly surprised.) Whilst I didn't have any of my own, it seemed very youngster friendly.

Popped in tonight, totally unplanned and just driving by back from Gosport First impressions were of a proper locals pub at the heart of its community but at the same time welcoming to strangers. We had a lovely couple of meals, classic pub food done...

Consistently good food served by a consistently over worked under staffed kitchen crew . Expect long waits for food consistently or at least for the last 3 months I've been visiting.

Visited on a weekday late morning with son. Nice little spot just over bridge from Fareham t'wards Gosport. Want to mention excellent VFM on burgers. So overpriced almost everywhere but here, fairly simple but good tsste and good price too! X

Always visit this place when I meet up with my parents. It is clean and the staff are really friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. I have never had a bad meal here, would definitely recommend this place.

With the walking group ..popped In for a coffee ..Nice pub .. We used the seating area outside at the rear of the pub One of our walkers had been for a meal recently and said it wS a really nice dining experience . We were there too early for that sadly ..

Perfect food, Perfect staff, great atmosphere. The food may just be pub grub but it's cooked so well and the staff go out of their way to make you happy. The pub may be full of locals but you feel so welcome.

Cracking pub with a warm friendly welcome, food was fab too! Loved the quaint, olde world style inside couldn't really see much of the outside because it was dark, which means I'll have to go back - ooops 🤣

Took my 87 year old mum for lunch. Lush scampi and chips and we were looked after beautifully by the manager/landlord. This is a lovely pub by the water in Fareham. Recommend.

Always have a cracking night at this venue its a gem tucked away by the creek! Staff and service I have always found to be excellent, there's a lovely atmosphere and vibe from the minute you walk in and we always have fun here. Love the Castle and will happily repeat visit!

We came across ‘castle in the air’ during a short stay at Rookesbury park. It was raining hard and we were looking for a good pub lunch. The pub did not disappoint, polite staff, good food, relaxed atmosphere. They were busy but well worth it. Sadly no photos, a very enjoyable stop for excellent value and friendly service.

Very friendly with a nice warm atmosphere. A good rotating choice of beer, even some good no-alcohol options.

1st time in this pub what a great place atmosphere is wicked friendly . Pub is immaculate clean .food was tasty . Dog friendly .highly recommend
