Where do I start….. food was 20minutes early and cold. We informed the restaurant to leave food at the back of our home yet the delivery driver continued to bang on our front door until, I believe, he actually read the note and left the food at the back. Meat in the starter was undercooked, naan was undercooked, potatoes were over cooked and the chicken was undercooked and not fresh (had a greyish look about them). All our food was inedible, resulting in organising a dinner before the football! We’ll be applying for a full refund!! First time we have ordered here and it was the worst Indian take out we’ve had. Never ordering here again!

Booked a table for my husband and I on a Friday evening. Pub has a lovely buzz about it, and each and every staff member we spoke with was polite, friendly and helpful. We ate squid and mushrooms to start and burger and fish and chips for main. All the food was super tasty. Such a gem of a pub in the village centre, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food.

Three elderly gents arrived on Saturday at 1:40pm looking for a pint and a meal during the lunch break at a cricket match at Amersham CC. Only after ordering our drinks were we informed by the barman that food could not be served as they stopped serving at 2:00pm. Despite the pub being virtually empty, apparently food orders would take about an hour so he was not going to take any new orders despite the fact that technically they were still serving for another 20 minutes. We were very disappointed but we sat in an empty bar to drink our now irrelevant pints. I took a seat that gave me a view through the bar to where I could hear washing up being done in the kitchen at the rear. During the 15 minutes that we wasted in this pub, I am fairly sure that no food emerged from the kitchen for anyone in the garden at the rear. Just as we were about to leave, a gent (presumably a local) ordered a pint and one other drink together with a food order. Do not waste your time with a pub that simply can't be bothered to serve its customers. Judging by the recent comments on here about the poor quality food and its inflated prices, our party didn't miss anything by instead buying prepacked sandwiches from the local Tesco instead! A pub that can't be bothered to serve its guests is not fit for purpose. Now I understand why the bar was empty. AVOID

Went for a casual lunch after walking the dog, having moved to the area recently. We went in expecting to just have nibbles, but the menu sounded great so we decided to splash out a bit. What we received was very disappointing and definitely not worth what we paid for it. Service at the bar was very unfriendly to the point we felt the staff would have preferred us not to be there. Starters weren't bad, I had the chorizo scotch egg which tasted nice, even if the egg yolk was a bit gelatinous. My wife had the croquettes which were also tasty but a very small portion. Main course was very poor. I got the Pollo picante, which is advertised as half a chicken in a spicy marinade. The chicken was dry and the marinade was very bland - what flavour it did have was not spicy and not even very pleasant. The amount of chicken provided was also not great - half a chicken suggests at least two very large chunks of chicken, what I received were two meagre breasts which had dried out under the grill. The chips were also poor - they had an unpleasant floury aftertaste and weren't very crispy- I'd expect better in a pub geared towards food. My wife had the pasta calabrese al forno, which was also somewhat dry and the sauce tasted burnt. It had only a small amount of chicken and practically no chorizo. We had thought about pudding but decided not to in the end. We live locally and had thought this might be a good place to come with friends and family but might not bother, given the overpriced and mediocre food and unfriendly service.

The Limes cafe is decorated with quirky artefacts and was quite busy on Saturday lunchtime. On arrival we got shown to a table and given menus. There was a large choice of dishes all competitively priced. It was hard to choose. Our order was taken promptly and the food delivered in an acceptable time. The food and wine were all excellent. A tip was added to the bill which you can have taken off. There are toilets in the garden centre and wheelchairs available. The garden centre area is wheelchair friend,y. The ironmongery section is being refurbished to accommodate wheelchairs. Interesting stock in both sections.
