We’ve been dining at The Star Inn for many years, and it never disappoints. The food is always delicious, and the service is consistently outstanding. On our latest visit, my husband and son had the fillet steaks, which were cooked to perfection. My daughter enjoyed the classic fish and chips, while I opted for the chicken curry. We couldn’t resist the chocolate fudge cake for dessert. It’s clear why this place has become a firm favourite for us. The Star Inn always delivers. Safe to say, we’ll be returning again and again!

Been to this pub many times over the years and it has been excellent. However in expecting the same service ( which was very good) was not match by the meal we had. Beef and ale pie was horrible, the meat was very tender But spoilt by the whole dish being far too unreasonable salty. Offered a quiet complaint to a waitress, who naturally apologised and said she would tell the chief. I do not think this was done nor did any of the management come to explain what the chief 'thought'. So if any meal is not immediately to your liking - make a complaint after the first mouthful, do not wait for the forth / sixth time of teasting to be convinced the meal is bad. One might assume the management has a different opinion, to deal with a disappointing meal. This may have been a one off experience but I'd be more cautious; I know people's individual teast differ but try taking spoons full of salt half dozen times and enjoy, most unlikely.

very nice tearoom pleasantly decorated even though it was a wet weekday the place was still quite busy . the prices are about right. portions are also good , we had a combination of the tuna cheese ,bacon &cheese melts paninis and the dirty fires along with coffee and hot chocolate .the wait time was about right. all the meals where nicely resented and very good

We haven’t been here for a while … had a last minute late Sunday lunch. It was really lovely … piping hot, tender beef with lovely veg and roasties. Excellent service by Charlie … a star!!!! Thank you.

Have always enjoyed this place until Saturday, very disappointed now the starter of Pork belly bites (around £8) was 3 very tiny pieces of pork with no crackling! it came with some leaves and i had to ask for the caramelized onion chutney that had been missed off! come the main I ordered the chicken and bacon ciabatta which was quite a large ciabatta with 1 tiny piece of streaky bacon and 3 pieces of chicken that barely covered 1/2 of the ciabatta! When i pointed this out to the waiter even he was aghast at the sandwich and had it remade. This time it had about 3 pieces of bacon alot more chicken , tomato and lettuce. If you are going to charge the prices you do to try and skimp on the quality is a mistake! After being a regular for years now off my list

Shocked at how much my total was for 2 "pots of tea for two" £11.80 The pot of tea isn't that big and between us got 3.5 cups between us out of each pot. I'm a big tea drinker and been to many lovely cafe settings and had bigger pots for cheaper. Disappointed

Not very impressed with the Barn today. They have really let it go. It opened at 10am, we got there at 10.30am. It was freezing!!! Warmer outside!!! Ordered 2x toasted tea cake and coffees. It was cold and over cooked, butter frozen. How can you mess such an easy order up??? ☹️ The toilet had a full bin, come on. 😱

Credit where credit is emphatically due! We popped in for breakfast the other morning, only to be met by what can only be described as a phalanx of the friendliest staff you could ever wish to encounter. And, my word, what a breakfast it was! A truly resplendent English spread, in a pub that exuded charm and individuality. None of this soulless, microwave 'ping' malarkey you get with the dreary chain establishments. No, no, this was the real McCoy—proper British hospitality, by Jove! An absolute triumph and a welcome respite from the mundane. Bravo!
