Shocked at how much my total was for 2 "pots of tea for two" £11.80 The pot of tea isn't that big and between us got 3.5 cups between us out of each pot. I'm a big tea drinker and been to many lovely cafe settings and had bigger pots for cheaper. Disappointed

Excellent farmhouse café, staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, food was served fast, reasonably priced and good quality (we had the breakfast). Overall very enjoyable and impressive visit. Only 2 criticisms the first: the sachet condiments let you down as there not great quality and the second was the irritating 'elevator' music being played on repeat in the background, but not enough to detract a 5 star review.

Arrived afternoon about 2pm. Ordered coffee and cake inside the premises. Was asked where we were sat, my disabled father had sat on a table that apparently is too far for the serving staff to manage. Had to order the food to be delivered to a table of the waitresses choice, then go and collect it and take it to my father. No sugar with drinks, no napkins and the cutlery was unclean, so had to struggle the 25 metres back to the cafe. The coffee n cake were lovely, let down by a strange service system. Wouldn’t bother going back unless I want to get my steps in for the day.

Disappointing doesn’t cover it! I’m so glad I was visiting an area 15 minutes away for another purpose, because I’d have been mighty fed up had I made a special trip. NOTHING to see here! I had expected to be skipping through lavender fields yet there was nothing of the sort - not even anywhere to walk the dog except a wet field (and NO lavender). I found a couple of unkempt poly tunnels hoping they’d be full of lavender but aside a few scruffy plant pots, they were all messy inside - hardly a visitor attraction! There’s a cafe, a dog accessory shop, a dog hydrotherapy pool place, a gift shop, and a vintage bicycle shop. Unless you specifically want to visit any of those shops, or they’ve got an event on, don’t go out of your way, it’s not worth it. Rubbish.

Previous visits to this place were enjoyable. This was market day and arriving by bike we were instructed to order at the hatch in the courtyard. Staff were lovely and quick but put us off dining inside. Some items were missing off the menu probably because they would take longer to prepare. I settled for a bacon bap and an Americano coffee hot milk on side. The bap was produced immediately and then I realized why. The bacon was barely warm tough, and looked like it had been on an all-night stay. The coffee was in a carry out cup but was excellent. Cycling there made us rapidly very cold sitting outside. The score is 3 of 5. Very generous in my opinion but that is down to the lovely staff and coffee. A fresh bacon bap could have made it 5/5. Probably we won't go there again and definitely not on a "market" day. Fir Tree Farm is much better for food. Saw they charged £1 for car parking. I'd have been really peeved if I'd paid that as well.

My partner had two large chunks of Lancashire cheese, two portions of pate, large salad, chutney, coleslaw, potato salad & pickles, served with toast & butter. 100% recommend! I didn’t have any cake but try all looked homemade. Someone was having afternoon tea & it looks fab! All in all a lovely lunch. 👍🏻☺️

Attended the monthly Artisan Market. Second Sunday of the Month...Excellent as usual. The variety of stalls and stallholders is fantastic. The music played by Dapper Dan...Id challenge anyone not to tap their feet or break out to a little dance when walking about. This time the board was down and they were jiving to the music. Both me and my Bullie Dottie enjoy our time there always. The stall holders are friendly and knowledgeable about their wares. The food on sale on the stalls may appear expensive but you only get what you pay for. Excellence!. The staff at the Cherry Orchard tea rooms are always helpful and being dog friendly it makes the day for us. However on this visit we came home with icecream. One for me and a doggie one too. After not seeing a good friend for some time, we decided on lunch at Inglenook Farm. Arriving without a booking we were promptly shown to our tables, by the radiator on what had been a fairly cold day - nice touch. It was lovely inside with a cosy atmosphere despite being rather full. Our waitresses Ellie and Eve were incredibly accommodating and left my friend and I to a well-needed catch-up, subtly giving us occasional looks to find out whether we were ready to order or not, rather than interrupting to rush us into ordering food. When we did decide on the food, after sinking the first pot of tea, we both had the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap which was delicious! Very quick to arrive after ordering with our empty plates being almost immediately taken away once finished. We treated ourselves to some cheesecake and a final pot of tea before going into the village for a stroll. Could not recommend this place more, and we will be coming back!

The lines were terribly long. A few short films played: Olaf's frozen adventure, stickman, gruffalo's child and, a family favourite, snowman. Food; pizza, hot dogs and hot drinks. Just my opinion but I wouldn't go there again because there wasn't much too see, no farm animals or christmassy reindeer just hay bales. I wouldn't reccomend going before your time slot or you'll just get bored because they don't let you go into the area where the good stuff are (like Santa's grotto and christmas hat making were you decorate a Santa hat with stickers) because we went into the queue but then an elf came up to us and told us we had to wait a bit to queue. They also said when we could rejoin the queue than the line only takes 10 mins. It took about half an hour (because they sold too many tickets). Sorry if this sounds like a complaint 😬

Four other tables came in and ordered and got there Breakfast quite quick. A gentleman came out and asked a gentleman are you still waiting,my husband said we are to. Carried on waiting as gentleman got served so I knew we were next. How wrong was I,waiter came out with barms which I said are they ours? with a reply no yours will be soon. I had had enough by then 40 min sat in 31 degrees so got up. Went to the kiosk to be told by a lady with short blonde hair,I'm giving you a refund in a loud mouthed way. Also telling me how hot it is.... I know love I nearly got Sun stroke sat there. If you are a manager I suggest you get some more training on how to speak to your customers. I understand it's hot and a kitchen is not the best place to work, but that's got nothing to do why I waited 40 mins for my order and 4 more tables got theres way before us.It was a sham, staff not knowing who or were they were serving,I suggest some training would be a start.....

The positives are: beautiful location near to Lavender Fields which are stunning and the scented aroma adds to the atmosphere. Food was good, my husband had a Breakfast Bap and I had a croissant, very fresh and tasty, coffee was a little on the strong side. What spoilt it for us was the odd service, bearing in mind we are still in current Covid times/restrictions, but their administering precautions were rather peculiar. We sat outside as it was a warm morning, drinks came first followed by food, without cutlery, when I asked the young lady for a knife, she looked bewildered and replied “have you not got one” when it was clear to see there were no condiments or crockery on the table. Waitress then returned with a knife and fork on a dirty tray and beckoned me to take them off the tray. My husband then mentioned he did not have any either, so another waitress came with the cutlery wrapped in a serviette in her hand and placed them on the wooden table we were sat at. Odd how one waitress asked me to take cutlery off the tray, yet the 2nd waitress brought them in her hand! After viewing the lavender, I returned to the café area to use the inside toilets when the male waiter asked me where I was going, when I replied he said I was to use the outside toilet, when previously he had said earlier the toilets are inside! The outside ones were neglected looking with over spilling tissues and unclean floors. Finally, when I went to purchase a lavender plant from the fruit and veg shop, I was asked by the gentleman inside ‘have you got cash” when I replied No, I am paying by card, it seemed to be an inconvenience to him, so I added that “I don’t tend to use cash since covid as we were advised not too” he then replied “Really a lot of people still do, and we are advised on lots of things”. I felt it unnecessary to be questioned like that during these uncertain times. It is important for all staff to be appropriately trained in customer service and covid compliant, you can’t half-heartedly put some covid restrictions in place and not others. It’s a nice place to visit, but could be made better by trained staff.

1st time I've been here, even though it's only 15 minutes from where I live. Met up with my sisters for first time in over 12 months to have some dinner. Food was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is easy to get to, being literally just next to the Rainford bypass. They have a Facebook page and the Cherry Orchard Tearoom, which is at the farm also has its own Facebook page. They have a re-imagined furniture shop which sells all kinds of interesting bits and pieces. There is also a Dog Barn shop for all things for your dog's like treats, harnesses, toys and even ice cream for dogs. Owners of both shops were lovely. There is a bicycle repair shop there but wasn't open the day we were there. Overall, a very enjoyable afternoon. We're planning on going back in a couple of weeks as they have an Artisan Market every 2nd Sunday of the month.

First time here today. Only stopped along the Rainford bypass to get my little one an ice cream while it was so hot today. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found. In a farm setting there was ample indoor & outdoor seating, restaurant serving hot & cold meals etc, farm shop, antique bike shop & craft shop. Absolutely gorgeous grounds leading to a pond with ducks & little wooden childrens characters lining the pond area including the famous "The Gruffalo!" Events are advertised here including a kids pantomime in late summer! Fantastic hidden gem. St.Helens best kept secret!! 👍🌻😁

Fantastic place, lots of little shops, the cafeteria is brilliant and not expensive, lots of good free car parking space, they have disabled parking and facilities. See the hand carved Gruffalo family and a Triceratops for the children to enjoy. There are also Artisan markets and outdoor shows coming soon. Nice for a trip out anytime but, especially on the market days.

Lovely day at the inglenook artisan market (every second sunday) my daughter loves seeing all the wares, the market was good at observing social distancing with a track and trace check in and sanitizing station at the entrance. The place is very dog friendly, we got some treats from the dog barn for our pup. Check out Alam on the market; his chili chutney is to die for and we had some amazing beef vindaloo from him whilst we were there.

I have only ever been there to play bowls or for a bowls meeting but staff seem helpful.

Excellent little cafe. Lovely soup with a fresh buttered barm. Yummy. Egg mayonnaise sandwich - fantastic. Only minor negative were the chips. Cooked to perfection, but alas, the oil was burnt, giving them a greasy taste. Will definitely recommend.

Good chippy overall, nice and clean premises, fish, chips, mushy peas were all decent. Fast service. A larger fish option would be welcome.

Long wait to be served at bar but the Fish & chips was well worth the wait, lots of drink selection in a well supported pub & restaurant.

We booked and paid £50 to use the room above the pub for our daughters 5th birthday in July. Turned up yesterday to put decorations etc up before the guests arrived, walked in the door by the beer garden to be met by what can only be described as what I imagine the bog of eternal stench smells like, coming out of the mens toilets. It absolutely wreaked! Then got told by the new manager, Rebecca Atherton, that she had forgotten we were coming and that there were no tables etc out and that we'd have to do it ourselves. Bit disappointing as wasn't expecting to have to lug tables and chairs round, but we did. All the tables were sticky with drinks spilled on them so had to wipe them all down as we set them up, the bar top was a mess so had to tidy that up too. No table cloths anywhere, so went down to ask for some. Was met with a look of disdain and was told I'd have to wait for her mum to bring some. The entertainer we'd booked arrived at 2.30 and was as surprised as we were that we were lugging tables round as it should have been done for us. Went back up to finish putting tables and chairs out and put our decorations round. Table cloths eventually turned up at 2.55...party started at 3.  The upstairs ladies toilet was absolutely disgusting.  I have attached pictures of it. Rubbish all on the floor, cubicle doors didn't click closed or lock. There was urine all over one toilet and the loo seat was actually on the floor next to the loo. Had the party, tidied up at the end and went down to speak to Rebecca about a partial refund due to the disappointing room and cleanliness issues, to be screamed at by another woman behind the bar (turns out she was Rebecca's mum, Karen). She screamed at me to f*ck off, that I'd done nothing but cause trouble and be rude to staff (which I hadnt). Told her I wasn't speaking to her and went back to speaking to Rebecca, again trying to explain why we weren't happy and again got screamed at by her mum, swearing and shouting.  Rebecca's excuses for the cleanliness issues were that theyd had functions on all week, but surely the loos must get cleaned every day? Bearing in mind, my kids were with me and the pub was packed due to the England game being on. Every one was staring at us. Quite honestly, it was embarrassing that a woman in her 50s was behaving like this. I told Rebecca I'd come back after the game to speak to her on her own, to again be screamed at to f*ck off by her mum.  I walked away from the bar, and one of my friends was queuing up to be served, got told by Karen that she couldn't serve her because she was shaking due to my behaviour and that she was going to kick my head in. This was infront of a bar full of people.  I had people I didn't even know coming to ask if I was OK as they had seen this display at the bar and had seen I had done nothing wrong. My friend came over and told me, so I went upstairs to get the remaining things of purs from up there. As we were putting them in the car, Rebecca came out and apologised for her mums behaviour and said it was unacceptable and that nothing I had said or done had warranted that behaviour from her. I accepted the apology, and said it would be nice if her mum apologised too.  My husband went back in to get the rest of our things, and was screamed at by Karen from behind the bar that she was refusing to serve us and instructed her husband to throw him out. Fortunately, her husband had seen everything that had occurred as he was sitting at the table directly in front of that bar, and didn't move. I assume he must be used to this behaviour from his wife.  We left then, as did the rest of the people we were with who were going to stay for the rest of the game, but said they refused to stay somewhere that treated paying customers like that.  We have been drinking in the Eagle for 13 years and I can honestly say that while these people are running it, I will not step foot back in there, and all of our guests said the same thing. The behaviour displayed was abhorrent, with no care for customers or that there were children there.  Karen is lucky I'm not going to the police as there were many witnesses to her threatening me.
