Sunday dinner is on top best I have ever had from a cafe try it out won't be disappointed I would go back again and again all the time

Grew up in the area. Good food but your typical pub grub. Service is friendly and has a good warming atmosphere.

Went for lunch yesterday for my sister’s birthday. I’ve never been before, but was really impressed. The food was delicious (with huge portions) and Tanya the waitress couldn’t do enough for us - she’s a credit to the pub! Great music, great food and brilliant staff - what’s not to love? Will definitely be back.

Booked for 11 adults. Fabulous meals, all home cooked and delicious. Would highly recommend, the staff that looked after us was very courteous, nothing was too much trouble. Will be going again very soon

Went for lunch with my sisters for my birthday. A lovely meal and very substantial. Tanya served both the food and drink and she really was lovely, there was no one in but us at the time so she even played the Beatles for us. Compliments to the Chef also.

Lovely family meal .food hot and reasonably priced

The food is very standard and basic, nothing special on the menu. Disappointing to see a lot of the images uploaded on the Facebook page were not available on the menu. It’s very over priced for what is actually served. The wrong meal was sent out. I would say avoid the place I just wouldn’t recommend it.

Had turkey dinner would of been 5 star but had gristle or bone in my turkey and it put me off other then that was nice n would recommend

Quiet dinner with the wife. Great food. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere (music). Good parking and disability access... many many clocks most don't have the right time. Specials menu and alot of homemade items on menu. Will be back with the kids. Some outdoor seating.

Always great food and staff lovely

Booked the upstairs room for a family and friends combined birthday and get together on March 31st. Room size was perfect for a group of around 50 socializing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked their menu choice of the gourmet buffet and it was excellent with more than enough choice and food for all. It was a nostalgia trip given I was brought up in Clock 60+ years ago but even without that they did a great job and would certainly use again.

Went today for the 1st time after new owners had took over, food is absolutely gorgeous,generous sizing,fantastic value, staff really lovely and friendly, Lauren made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable, will definitely be back

Visited the clock face today for a meal, first time visiting, the food was stunning, fast service, will was amazing, taking time out to speak to my daughter who took quiet a shine to him, if you looking for a home cooked meal with ‘proper’ chips then this is the place to come. The decor was beautiful and had a relax atmosphere. I decided to eat here because of a recommendation from a friend, I will defiantly be visiting again.

We have just visited here and received a lovely warm welcome from the staff, excellent service from Lauren absolute pleasure. If we hadn't have had a meeting for work we could have literally sat there all afternoon it was such a wonderful relaxed experience. Candle was lit for us and we were treated so well and looked after. The afternoon cream tea was delicious

Wouldn’t even give it a 1 star. The man behind bar was very rude when we had asked them to fix their mistake and change one the meals. All our food on the table came out at different times and it was suppose to be family birthday meal. Would not come here again was not worth the price and 2 men fighting in front of young children.

When tea tonight first time. Food was lovely. Felt like home cooked food. The chips were nice and chunky. And the meat well done. Will be back.

Visited 27.12.22 with a large group. The service was very slow, to the point we left before the deserts were served, because the staff could not inform us when that would be. The food is cheaper than your average pub, there is a reason for that. Tinned veg, with a skilled microwave technician picking up the slack in the kitchen. Not great, shame, as the venue is very hospitable.

We went for Sunday Lunch last weekend. New chef apparently. The food was lovely. Loads of vegetables aswell. Lots of choice. Got plenty meat which was cooked to perfection for me. Gorgeous gravy. The only thing was they were busy so waited awhile for meal to be served. All the food was pipeing hot when served which was brilliant. Good price and good table services. Big portions served. Good value. Will definitely go again.

Christmas Dinner was amazing. We all loved it, and can't wait for Xmas 2023.coz we'll be there again guys!!

Loved it I went for me mum’s birthday meal and I got the soup of the day wich was parsnip and spice, little spice however it was amazing ! It was delicious and how did u make it?

Nice food but over the last few weeks orders are mixed up between tables,food not being served as a table so 2 get theirs and other 2 can be waiting..heard one group say they had been waiting an hour and half?

Called in for lunch and had a really good lunch, the food was excellent and the young lady and staff made us welcome and couldn't do enough for you, we will be having lunch there every fortnight after our shopping. It's nice to see a traditional pub still running in this financial world.

only been here on 2 occasions, the decor needs a lick of paint but the beer garden is spot on .had some food which was ok but spoiled by all the smoking but we chose to sit outside so can complain

Popped in to try the food, pub was very quiet, plenty of staff so no waiting to be served. Food was decent and very reasonably priced at £15 for 2 meals (based on menu prices).

I'm not one to leave bad reviews or complain but I am massively disappointed with our Experience at the Clock today. I've been here a few times and never had a problem. Myself and my family also came here for Christmas a few years on the trot and always lovely. Today was anything but. 2 adults and 2 kids, ordered 2 main meals and the kids only ordered a couple of sides. Almost everything was wrong. My little sister got brought 3 different burgers until she received the right one. My meal never arrived until way after my mum's which she had to send back because it had gone cold whilst trying to sort everything that was wrong. When we EVENTUALLY received everything. My lamb shank was supposed to be served with mash, came out with dry chips. Which is mainly the reason that I ordered, to receive a meal to SPEC. I work in a kitchen myself and I know full well that the chef just could not be arsed making some mash which takes 2 minutes. ONE member of staff working front of house, bar and running food. This member of staff had clearly only just started working there and had zero training at all. No wonder they have lost all of their staff. Management of this place is beyond a joke. Such a shame as like I said, I've only had good experiences in the past but I will not be returning again.

We used to come in this pub quite a lot when ant used to own it , since he left we have been in twice , 2nd tine today we thought we would give it another chance , wish we hadn’t , full of kids , scallys defiantly won’t be returning again , kids getting served with beer and lads offering each other to fight , the Owner has no clue shame ant has gone he did so good in this pub will not be returning

Gone absolutely downhill since Any left. If you like a moody atmosphere filled with kids who think they can take on the world then this is the place for you

Since the new owners took over this great pub has gone downhill. Menu is very limited and it took ages for anyone to even acknowledge we were there and take our order.

Not many offers here at the moment as businesses are struggling, one of the cheapest meals around £7.50 with their offer of 2 for £14 only giving you a £1 saving. Glasses were dirty and the kids park was littered with rubbish & equipment really run down. The outdoors could do with some TLC.

Good honest, well priced food and lovely staff. The braised beef was great, proper chips and I ordered 2 rounds of bread and butter with it. We will definitely be going back.

Visited for Sunday lunch last week, excellent roast lamb served quickly by polite and friendly staff. All COVID precautions were in place and working well. A very good experience, I will return!

Amazing food and great value for money

Waited nearly 6 months for the Braised Steak and it was worth every day and even better it 50% cheaper with this Eat Out scheme!😂

Was apprehensive after lockdown to venture back into the outside world : after recently moving into the area we decided to go to the clockface pub and resturant : this was a great decision ! Excellent service , fantastic food ! Fabulous enviroment: will be coming again !

Love our Sunday roast here, very friendly staff who can't do enough for you.. Taken most of family in and no one has been disappointed.. Good value, plenty meat and fresh vegetables with extras if wanted. 👍😊🍺🍷

Nice and safe hand sanitizer when you walk in in markings on floor and the food was really nice even though it was a reduced menu staff really helpful and friendly felt really safe

Me and a friend we yesterday for lunch I had chicken chips my friend had fish chips mushy peas the chicken was a bit dry the fish looked lovely but the chip were suppose d to be home made but more like frozen they looked like warm ups from the day before and were rock hard we wont be going there again a total let down

HAd a very poor sunday lunch there - butthought we'd give it another go on the following monday with 2 'Mediteranean' Burgers.The burger buns were soggy and flat, the burger patties themselves looked like they'd been sat on...The burgers were a mess, and tasteless. The chorizo sausage that was in there was inedible, tasteless gristle.The staff were disinterested, and to be frank the experience was terrible.The beer is still OK - best just stick to that if you visit the Clock.Altogether, we were disappointed.

Pre-booked our meal choices for 24 people. The room was set ready for us when we arrived. The meals, starters, main + desserts were of a very high standard + huge! The staff were very welcoming + nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend + will definitely going again soon

We have just been to the clockface and had another fabulous meal. 2 Mushroom, black pudding and salt and pepper chicken starters which were lovely. Followed by a scampi, fish and chips, steak pie and a braised steak. Superb with lovely vegetables and REAL chips. With two drinks each this came to £35 a couple which is fantastic vale for a lovely home cooked meal. Service excellent and attentive as always, really friendly and helpful staff. No need to book, we never do. Would recommend and look forward to our next visit. Keep up the great work clockface

we booked for 12 people the split us up and this was not good, I just felt it was a poor choice for the pub to do this.The chicken salt and pepper was disgusting the chicken was covered in the salt and it was terrible everyone complained THIS WAS SHOCKING!!!!They then missed a meal off in error then they said we did not pay or order it, we shown the bill and we had ordered and paid for it.The meals was ok, except for the steak and chips, this should have been medium cooked, it was very well done!!! So much you could not chew it, so it was left.We won’t be going again, I think you let us down today.

A nice friendly pub with good service. The Sunday dinner is very nice and good value as well. The rest of the menu is also good with fresh veg and proper chips. Will be back soon

We haven’t been for a while but decided to have a lunch out with friends. We ordered two beef roast dinners and two burgers. The roast was gorgeous and we were given extra gravy. The burgers were huge and looked lovely. Great staff, no waiting and would recommend for great value home cooked food. Looking forward to our next visit.

Really gutted cause we loved the food at the Clock Face. The last 3 times we have been the foods been terrible. We love the roast and go often to the pub but mainly on a Sunday because it’s usually good quality. However we went on Mother’s Day and took my mum with us and it was a little below the usual standard but we brushed this aside because it was busy. We went back again on Easter Sunday and the roast was terrible. The lamb was so fatty hardly any veg and the broccoli was all brown at the edges and Yorkshire puddings missing which we had to ask for. They arrived but after we had finished our meals so they were left. We have given them a 3rd chance today and it was even worse. The roast potatoes were like solid pebbles that if I’d of thrown them at the windows they would of shattered. The lamb was so fatty I just had a plate full of fat to be fair my husbands lamb was fine mine was awful. I mentioned it to the girl and she kindly brought me some more potatoes but these were the opposite they were like mash in the bowl drowned in gravy. We normally have someone check on us during our meal but this didn’t happen today otherwise I’d of told them it wasn’t good. I’m not sure what happened. We used to love it and even spoke early in the year about enquiring if they served food on Christmas Day but that’s defiantly off the cards now. We won’t even be back for a sandwich which is a shame as it was high up on our list of favourite places to eat.

The pub is perfect. Proper pub not these chain plastic pubs. Staff are superb and a credit to the manager. He's kept the same staff for years and is testament to the place. Food as always spot on. Fresh produce. Plenty of it. Cooked to perfection. Love this place

Booked a family meal here for my grandads 90th for 30 people and I couldnt fault it. The staff were amazing. No one was left waiting for meals, all the meals came out hot, and the food was lovely! Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon!

Normally lovely food but got out order after a hour orders a gravey boat with my food it never came then took a further 10 mins to come for it to be like jelly so I left my food my other half had hers full of uncooked chips gone down the pan bad and I will not return 50 pound for to starters cuz that’s all we ate complete joke

I ordered a ribeye steak, it was really disappointing. It seemed like they didn’t even bother seasoning at all. Neither the steak nor the chips were seasoned, and the peas were dry and hard.

Popped in for dinner on hearing some ok reviews as I was in the area.

We have been a few times recently and every time the food and service has been great. The quality of the food is great it's all home made. The chips are lovely. Today I had a roast dinner with was delicious. The lamb was melt in the mouth the roast potatoes were great and the veg was all fresh and the gravy was really tasty. The prices are all reasonable.

Had to go to St. Helens was unsure where to go met my friend for lunch called in service good staff attentive their was a funeral lunch on served us quickly food nice I had scampi my friend had halloumi cheese quick service

Called in here last week for a few drinks, staff pleasant and served us quickly. We did not have anything to eat so cannot comment but what other people were having looked nice.

We visited the Clock Face for Sunday lunch. The food was lovely, really quick service and reasonably priced. The pub is nice on the inside with a clock theme going on. There is a child’s play area outside, which adds another feature to the pub. All in all, well worth a visit.

The clock has been my go to pub for the football with my friends for a while now, buying food and drink on every occasion, we went in recently to buy food before the football came on,the game we was asked to buy a drink or leave by the owner because at that moment in time we didn’t have a drink in front of us as did A few of the other customers aswell as us, 10 minutes went by and we was then approached again and asked if we wanted those drinks we explain to the owner that we had had food a drinks and didn’t want one at that particular time we was then told that it wasn’t a library and asked to leave, I was appalled with the way we was treated and feel like maybe it could’ve been because we was a group of young lads and as we was the youngest there at the time so it could explain why no one else without a drink was approached.

I went to watch the work cup with my friends at the clock face hotel . This pub has been our local for the past 3 years . Sadly the treatment this time around has been a disgrace. We went early to watch a football match. I went and got seats while my mates went and got drinks. The owner walked over and said “ not a youth club lads “ which I found was odd thing to say as we’re locals . We all spent money £20 on food and drinks after that comment. As the second half was on he told us if we don’t have drinks we can’t be in there . Which is understanble if it was heaving and busy and people needed sit down but it was dead with 3 other people in there other than us .

This was my go to pub to watch the football and enjoy some food/drinks with my mates however food has gone dramatically downhill, my most recent visit was to watch an England World Cup game & this ended in being asked to leave by the owner of the pub because I didn't have a drink in front of me, despite spending almost £20 on food and drinks 45 minutes earlier. Shocking treatment.

As a family we have eaten at the clock many times. The last few times haven't been great. Unfortunately on our last visit in May it was the worst it's ever been. I ordered the cheese burger and fries. The burger tasted cheap and the chips were frozen and barely cooked, some still hard in the middle. My mum's burger and chips were the same. My kids meals were okay. Its not exactly cheap to eat here so we were very disappointed and probably won't come back unless it improves dramatically.

Don’t know what I was expecting from the outside but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The pub was nicely presented and clean and the beer garden is massive with great stuff for kids.

Me and my partner went for a meal on a Friday dinner time. Firstly the menu was a disappointment. I ordered Steak & Ale pie and my partner wanted chicken & wanted a side order if scampi. They refused the side order if scampi as you can only buy it if your having steak. So he had to change his order. The food arrived in good time. My steak & ale pie was very salty. If there was no salt it would have been blanned. No flavour just salt. I had mash & veggies too. I was not offered gravy as it is the normal thing to have a gravy boat at the side. My partner said his scampi tasted like it was bought in a supermarket and his chips were not tasty. We was not asked how our food was as I would have complained. After the tasteless food we decided not to spend more money having a dessert. We have been twice before and then I waited a while for lamb. And then they told me I have to change my order as they had no lamb. All my visits for food here have never been good. I have no idea why he has the rating he does. I have also heard the owner is a rude man and has no respect for other people.

Good friendly staff drinks at a good price . Nice well priced menu food arrived promptly hot and very good portions. Outside area at back was very good all that's needed is warm weather. Would recommend

Me and my partner visited here last week and have to say it was probably one of the nicest meals we've had here! They have recently launched a new menu and the choice on it is probably the best we've seen here for a long time. Both the food and drinks were fantastic value for money, in particular the food portions which I have to say were probably too big in particular for my partner who struggled to eat all of theirs. I tried the chicken stir fry with noodles which was delicious while my partner had Cajun chicken which looked and tasted the part even if there was a lot on the plate! Even the salad looked appetising which isn't always the case with pub food salads. We were told by one of the girls behind the bar that the Sunday lunches were delicious so we may be back with the family very soon to give one of those a try.
