Originally we had booked somewhere close to a venue we were attending. However on arrival the accommodation was not as expected and we needed to find somewhere else to stay. We contacted 32 Torporley and spoke to Ben who sorted us out with a room. On arrival Ben couldn’t have been more helpful. The hotel and our room was amazing with everything we needed. The complementary snacks and cereals were a nice touch. All the staff we met were very friendly. We were unable to sample the restaurant food as we were attending a concert however we will definitely return in the near future. Highly recommended 5*

I don't know who is writing good reviews about the food and hospitality at this place. Went for a weekend meal and drink after visiting the area. Food was poor. Microwaved, poor quality. Complained and got told there was nothing wrong with it. Landlord and landlady obviously had been drinking heavily. He was drinking spirits from a coffee cup !!!

Catch up in Tarporley, pre lunch and I've been here before. Really friendly owner and her really friendly dog with a super temperament. Just two pots of tea on this occasion but I'll be back for sure, when next in the area. Nice ambience, quite busy but owner happy for us to sit at the 'staff' table.

We visited here while staying locally and loved the friendly atmosphere. Yes covid has had an impact as it has everywhere what covid can't affect is the welcome and friendly atmosphere which makes it worth a visit definitely we did a couple of times and would travel to go back

Lovely home cooked food, highly recommended alternative to 8 quid hotdogs at Oulton Park. Just ashamed they didn't have the red wine and veal pie on the go. The kids enjoyed the burgers and excellent pizza, plus the friendly local hounds that wondered around the place looking for cuddles was really nice. Oh cracking beer as well!

We visited this country pub whilst staying for a short weekend break in the area. We both chose pie options for our meals; they were amazing (not these awful dishes of stew with a puffy pastry top found in most pubs these days). Truly proper traditional home made pies that tasted so freshly cooked with peas and chips to die for! The staff are so friendly and inviting in comfortable 'country pub' surroundings. We will definitely be looking forward to visiting again in the future and staying on site in our caravan. Highly recommended.

Wanted to visit for a while. Lovely evening by the canal. Perfect. My wife and I both had Turkey Sunday Roast. Quick service and pleasant staff. Plentiful size servings and food was hot. Potatoes were hard as was the veg. Everything else fine. Was a long journey from the Wirral so probably won't rush back. Sorry.

8 of us went for an evening meal. The Maitre D' was very rude and i think his saying is "the customer is always wrong." We asked if we could have seperate bills and he said NO. When he gave me the menu, I asked if there was another as the one on the website was different, again he said NO, the one on the website is out of date. One of our party didn't get their starter until we had to find someone and ask for it. The Main meal was awful, no seasoning or flavour. I must say my desert was nice, We were never asked, at any time if everything was alright. We wondered if we were at Faulty towers. When our bill arrived we again asked if he could bring seperated bills, He said " I've already told you NO. During our meal we could hear the Maitre D' telling 1 of the lovely waitresses off in a very loud agressive manner. He is very rude and a bully. He said he had worked there 23 years. God help them. We will NEVER go there again and will advise others not to.
