Absolutely lovely pub with a little shop on the car park. Lovely owners and friendly atmosphere.

Good old fashioned pub, food good but my friends fish and chips were served in a bowl! Why? My ham and cheese toastie was fine, once I'd removed one layer of ridiculously thick bread. Atmosphere slightly spoiled by a few young men whose language left a little to be desired.

This place is a very friendly pub where the staff & owners are lovely, very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They have a good range of crafted beers & and lager, the prices are very reasonable. We went on Saturday night and found it very comfortable with a nice log fire to keep you warm & cosy. 5 of us had meals which again was very reasonably priced with fantastic service & the food was amazing and the portion size were plentyful. I would definitely recommend this place after a nice walk or visiting Oulton Park. Lovely little pub in a nice little village & oh they also have a village shop for essentials and local produce.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch. Both of us had the roast beef. It was excellent and plentiful. Great selection of real ales, 6 pumps. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended. Will certainly return.

First time in this pub after always going into the Red Lion. Loved its setting and look forward to returning in The Summer. The atmosphere is great and it's just a proper cosy English pub. They do food but you are welcome for a pint. We had a pizza and chips after a walk, service was quick and the pizza and chips were lovely, and enough to share with 2.

Really lovely atmospheric pub. Comfy chairs, wood burner and a cricket pitch to the rear. What's not to love?

Very busy, good food and service.

Enjoyed the beverages good selection, tidy scran and the young staff we sound. Some rare mon to some average geezers edgy has a selection of class people. Would recommend to any person. Also look at the cool photo.

This is a lovley country pub full of amazing people and great bar staff although one of them is ginger but still all great with a good pint and a nice selection of spirits ales and soft drinks for everyone a very friendly place

The pub is very welcoming and happy to see new people coming in and good atmosphere some nights a bit quiet and it’s a good mix off all ages with funny young lads and quite older people would happily go again

What a lovely warm welcome we've had at The Egerton Arms. We arrived on a bitterly cold Friday afternoon to a blazing stove and friendly service. We stayed for drinks and vowed to return. Which is exactly what we did and 2 families returned for Sunday lunch and drinks last week. What a joy to have such friendly service from the young staff who were very attentive as was the lady owner. It's such a change to have an excellent welcome and good food. Well done all at the Edgy. We'll see you at the weekend. Btw the Christmas decor is spot on, its such a cosy atmosphere. Whitegate mums and families.

A lovely country pub with great home cooked food, the roast beef was so tender(quality joint), the portions good too, fresh vegetables all cooked very nicely. Yes we waited a little for the food but worth it & it’s Sunday so what’s the rush. The landlord/landlady worked exceptionally hard & were both welcoming, helpful & wish them well in these difficult times. Yes the gents is outside, its clean, functional…its a pub loo not a bathroom!

Visited early evening on a Sunday for drinks then decided to eat. Fab bacon burger, very tasty and spicy pizza was noted by partner as best he'd ever had. Shame we live about two hundred miles away.

The new landlords have got this pub back to where it should be. They've worked hard to protect the "Edgey" ambience and it's paying off. Great selection of beers and wines. Food is good pub grub(Sunday dinners are ace). Nice to see it brimming with customer old and new.

Live locally, and this place should Be brilliant. Great location, Oulton park 240 yards away, back onto the local cricket pitch. Just been taken over by people who have no idea one, Bloke is pleasant but a tad clueless and the lady is a bit none customer focused but more operationally savy. Food constantly changes and menus written (pen and paper) daily, however it’s usually pretty decent it’s gotta be said. Tastes as if semi home made, and pretty quick service. As a free house it’s got some ok beers and lots of locals frequent. Nicer atmosphere that the pub up the road, as it’s Different that you usual nice, clinical brewery ones pub Dogs, kids everyone is welcome, men’s toilets need sorting out and I’d describe the deco as old quirky English countryside. Hope they do, but can’t see them making it work as between them they have no idea. The wife would make this work if her hubby was as astute as she is, sadly he’s not a clue but is a nice fella. Wish them luck and well worth a visit.

Great atmosphere in what feels like a centuries old bar with spacious interior and beer garden overlooking village cricket pitch. Good selection of beers and the possibility of a BBQ on certain weekends (probably best to call ahead and see if it is running in ur looking for food but well worth it if its on ). Plenty of parking too

Staying near by and had lunch here at The Egerton. Delightful ambience. Very comfortable. Quirky and interesting pub. Food was excellent so we booked Sunday lunch today for us and 2 friends. Again excellent food and presentation. Beef roast and beef rib. Delicious. Better than my home cooked and Ive never said that before. 😵🙏. I wish we lived local we would be here regularly. A little hidden on a corner and only recently re opened. I recommend you get the experience here before this pub gets the reputation and customers its bound to get. We visited The Egerton Arms on Friday 29th October with my 90yr old mum and 2 year old grandson i would just like to say thank you for your hospitality. Nothing too much trouble and the food was amazing. Will def return!!!!

This pub looked closed down when we were in area last week what else can I put it’s shut! Shut, shut, shut, shut, car park barrackaded, shut , shut, shut, don’t go, it’s closed

We dropped in today at lunchtime, knowing that the inside of the pub was shut, but there was a gazebo and tables etc outside as well as a fire pit etc. We had lunch outside. Great food.lovely welcome. We will return. Great to see a lovely local pub doing what they can in these times.

The Egerton is your typical English Village Pub, low ceilings and quirky, cosy interior! Have obviously recently reduced opening hours and served outside only + takeaways so weather permitting a great place to go! Their traditionally fired pizzas are excellent! Looking forward to full opening at some stage ... nowhere better on a winters evening with a pint, glass of wine and tasty food! We wish you all well for the future!

Enjoyed a lovely family evening in the beer garden recently, amazing pizza and fantastic staff, we will definitely return.

The take away pizza I had was so amazing that I came back the next day and had the same again! The second time round I sat in the beer garden and enjoyed my pizza out in the sun, was such a lovely experience, I totally recommend a visit!

Called in here on our way to Wales for lunch. Sunday roast (we both had beef) - so delicious, generous servings, fantastically crisp vegetables and super tender beef. Huge yorkshire pudding! Very very good lunch so if you are in the area would definitely recommend this pub.

I was very disappointed with the staff here. One young woman was very offish and impolite. I would not recommend this pub when there are better options in the area.

Rather busy. Not enough staff and mostly too rushed to be friendly. Average food lacking flavour but despite all that we had a lovely family together.

Have left some great reviews for this place in the past , when we have been Cheshire Way . Sadly whether its new owners. plus new staff (not enough of them either) The awesome Pizzas are no longer available. guessing the pies are not . Instead a new menu . that I think had burger, steak and then a selection of Pasta dishes . we all opted for the Lasagne . When arrived . a mediochre taste and portion . no salad garni . no condimemnts on table . no offer of parmasan - no serviettes , poor service in general (although the lad and lass were super polite) As we were still hungry, we ordered a desert .... waited for ever .. when it arrived . we were told it was wine Weds <?? whats that ?? Its when you order a starter . or main course with a meal you get a free bottle of wine .... having purchased our last round we took the wine with us . (shared between 6) others got as a couple or a four some, thats by the by. Just sad that the two kids front of house had to serve at bar . serve dinners . clear tables . obvioulsy not noticing serviettes all used . lack of condiements etc .. and awful waits from kitchen for just **ok* food :-( Wont be back till next year now . Hoping for great improvements on taste and portions. Bring the pizza back for the weds and thursday when its superbikes . thats what we go there for :-) want to leave FIVE STAR review next year , as previous years :-)

Great local pub to come and have a pint or a gin and tonic. You can grab a gin and tonic and watch the cricket match. Amazing on a beautiful day.

We have been today and it is such a lovely country pub situated near oulton park. staff are very very friendly and caring and go above and beyond. I had abit of a problem with my meal but staff helped and they was so understanding and caring. Thanks again If you want traditional home made food then I suggest you come and try :)

Lovely quiet village pub. Called in on a lovely summers day, so sat outside to eat and drink. Plenty of seating to the front of the pub and no road noise to worry about.

Tuesday burger night. As a family we go to often and they never fail to impress!!

We called in here for lunch whilst passing through on a longer journey. We chose this pub specifically because it is listed in the Campaign For Real Ale ‘Good Beer Guide’, and we were not disappointed.

We stayed at the Elm Cottage caravan site and it was well worth the effort to find this pub with its quirky garden and interior,we didn't eat there just enjoyed the quality of the real ales on offer. Really nice guy behind the bar who helped us find a taxi back to escape the sudden downpour.

We dropped in for a quick lunch and a pint. The greeting and service friendly. The service prompt. The lounge had a real fire going so a pleasant warm atmosphere. We had a fish-finger sandwich which was made from home-made cod goujons with crisp chips and a tasty sauce. We had dinner here about three years ago and that was excellent.

We visited as a group and had a wonderful Sunday lunch. The service was great and the food wonderful. Have since visited for a beer and love the atmosphere in this pub.

Took someone on a very first meal and wanted to impress her as much as possible and chose The Egerton and although been in for the Real Ale never eaten there. I can only say it was fantastic, the food excellent, the service and customer experience was brilliant and they couldn't have made us feel welcome any higher as it was top service, the whole experience was magnificent.

The whole experience was amazing its the best meal we have eaten out in a long time. Added bonus that it was 2 for 1 night.

Very pretty, quirky pub on the edge of Budworth Common. Good selection of beers, spirits and soft drinks served in comfortable surroundings that take you back to the 1920's. Children appear welcome and locals are friendly too. I guess it is heaving when events are on at Oulton Park which us just up the road.

Visited egerton arms on Sunday to try the Roast Dinner , have eaten here several times and the food has always been excellent, but never tried the Sunday dinners.

Brilliant beer selection and the nut roast is lovely! A great pub. I think the best in the area.

Slow service and food cold staff not very attentive it took us 45 minutes to get our food and the service was not good

Visited here while on a (small ) walk around the village. A lovely old building neatly hidden away down a Cheshire lane. Very friendly staff and local customers who look the time to chat with us.

We called for a quick coffee after a walk it was the worst coffee and service we have ever had wouldn't call again .Tables dirty and spoons too.

Only ever use this place when Racing at Oulton Park . and only go on Pizza night .. they really are the best and could be wrong think its £12 for fresh cooked pizza and a pint - or a wine . Staff all seem a bit young/studenty, but are aware/knowledgeable of their Ales and menu, all helpful and polite Not a Pizza lover at all . but these are just superb. and the crust is so fab . you can roll the quadrants up , like a pancake roll . sooo much easier to eat ;-) Def be back again , next year :-)

really pleasant spot on a sunny summer day, sat in the garden and enjoyed the pizzas with the cricket game playing over the fence.

Set aside a cricket pitch with local church in back drop, this pub has the best setting. Good beer, food and events through summer. Best pizza locally baked in proper pizza oven. My kids love this place as in deed my wife and I do.
