I visited on an exceptionally cold afternoon shortly after the pub opened. A wood burning stove was quickly lit, and the heat soon took the chill out of my bones. The pub was soon busy and I felt that there was a good atmosphere. My efforts to find the Edgerton Arms were well rewarded.

Lovely home cooked food, highly recommended alternative to 8 quid hotdogs at Oulton Park. Just ashamed they didn't have the red wine and veal pie on the go. The kids enjoyed the burgers and excellent pizza, plus the friendly local hounds that wondered around the place looking for cuddles was really nice. Oh cracking beer as well!

What a lovely little pub so full of Character and simply a little Gem.... We had Sunday Dinner here on Sunday 03rd November 2024 as the pub up the road did not serve Sunday roasts after 5pm we asked Red lion staff if the pub around the corner Eggerton Arms were still serving food and were told they also stopped serving at 5pm which was incorrect as they service till 6pm but my god we were made up.... The food was fantastic as were all there staff, had a nice little chat with the Chef also who came out to see if we were happy... 10 out of 10. just perfect.. Thanks again, just in time for a proper perfect Sunday dinner xxxxxx

My wife and I visited The Egerton Arms for the first time on Friday 25 October 2024. We had noticed its listing in the Camra ( Campaign for Real Ale ) Good Beer Guide and we were not disappointed. The Egerton Arms is set on its own plot just out of Little Budworth with a large gravelled car park in front of the pub . The local community run village store shares the car park and is a small, interestingly stocked shop with an external ' windowed marquee type ' of establishment on left of the Egerton Arms . The main entrance at the front of the pub leads directly into the main 'L shaped' room ' with the bar on the left and a large 'more formal ' dining area to the right rear . A smaller more basic room is through a door on the left and then the gentleman's toilets are outside ' brrr!' via a door from that room. The ladies is in the main bar area on the extreme right handside . ( Note there is no disabled toilet , although the ladies was quite spacious- so my wife tells me !) There are some very comfortable leather arm chairs and tables near the bar with a cast iron stove for extra heating by the bar ( with warning sign to avoid touching as would be extremely hot if it had been on ) The majority of the customers in the main room preferred stand or use the higher tables and stools in that area. The six real ales were all very well priced - we had halves of Theakstons Old Peculier for only £4.80 a pint . A very decent drink so we risked a second half ! The food menu is a simple bar meals type menu but it is prepared freshly to a high standard . ( 4Things like burgers and pizzas ) We both had pizzas which arrived on large plates each with its own pizza cutter . The customers and staff were friendly although the area by the bar was tightly packed with drinkers enjoying their Friday night . A great place to find and well worth a revisit .

Let us stay overnight in our campers on the car park even though no food was available due to chef holidays. Called in for a couple of beers, good range on offer and a good atmosphere with a few locals enjoying a tea time pint. Lad behind the bar left the toilets open overnight for us, will definitely call again when kitchen is open. Has village shop in the car park which also serves hot drinks, pies etc and breakfasts at weekends.

We stopped over in over Campervan. We had tickets for the American Auto show and racing at Oulton Oark and the pub is 5 minute walk to the Lodge gate. The pub was recommended by a friend and we loved being here. It’s free overnight as long as you buy a few pints or eat in the pub. Inside it’s an old pub with a lovely country atmosphere. The bar staff were friendly and despite being busy we got served quickly. We had booked a table which is advisable as the pub is popular. There is seating both inside and out. We ate here both nights and the food was excellent. Some of the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. Plenty of real ale on offer and a good selection of spirits and wine. You can even watch a game of cricket from the rear of the pub. There is a car park and this gets busy. Campervans are asked to park either to the far left or far right. This is because some of the parking is in the middle of the car park. There are facilities in the pub when open. There is also a small local shop that sells everything, fresh bread, milk, hot food, cakes and other tinned food. We stocked up each day.

I only leave negative reviews when no one at the establishment gives me a chance to give them feedback directly. Have to say I’m super disappointed. I’ve had their smash burgers in the past and been very impressed. So much so that we made a special trip this evening to have them again. But this time the experience was appalling we waited almost an hour, and then the burger turned up with a different sauce than listed on the menu, but most importantly, it wasn’t a smash burger! If the beef patty was home made, the chef needs to find a different line of work. Dry as anything and half an inch thick. It tasted like a supermarket burger that they had made a half hearted attempt at squashing. They seemed very busy, so maybe they had run out of proper beef, but that’s no excuse. If you’ve run out, stop serving it.

This place is a very friendly pub where the staff & owners are lovely, very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They have a good range of crafted beers & and lager, the prices are very reasonable. We went on Saturday night and found it very comfortable with a nice log fire to keep you warm & cosy. 5 of us had meals which again was very reasonably priced with fantastic service & the food was amazing and the portion size were plentyful. I would definitely recommend this place after a nice walk or visiting Oulton Park. Lovely little pub in a nice little village & oh they also have a village shop for essentials and local produce.

What a lovely warm welcome we've had at The Egerton Arms. We arrived on a bitterly cold Friday afternoon to a blazing stove and friendly service. We stayed for drinks and vowed to return. Which is exactly what we did and 2 families returned for Sunday lunch and drinks last week. What a joy to have such friendly service from the young staff who were very attentive as was the lady owner. It's such a change to have an excellent welcome and good food. Well done all at the Edgy. We'll see you at the weekend. Btw the Christmas decor is spot on, its such a cosy atmosphere. Whitegate mums and families.

Live locally, and this place should Be brilliant. Great location, Oulton park 240 yards away, back onto the local cricket pitch. Just been taken over by people who have no idea one, Bloke is pleasant but a tad clueless and the lady is a bit none customer focused but more operationally savy. Food constantly changes and menus written (pen and paper) daily, however it’s usually pretty decent it’s gotta be said. Tastes as if semi home made, and pretty quick service. As a free house it’s got some ok beers and lots of locals frequent. Nicer atmosphere that the pub up the road, as it’s Different that you usual nice, clinical brewery ones pub Dogs, kids everyone is welcome, men’s toilets need sorting out and I’d describe the deco as old quirky English countryside. Hope they do, but can’t see them making it work as between them they have no idea. The wife would make this work if her hubby was as astute as she is, sadly he’s not a clue but is a nice fella. Wish them luck and well worth a visit.

Have left some great reviews for this place in the past , when we have been Cheshire Way . Sadly whether its new owners. plus new staff (not enough of them either) The awesome Pizzas are no longer available. guessing the pies are not . Instead a new menu . that I think had burger, steak and then a selection of Pasta dishes . we all opted for the Lasagne . When arrived . a mediochre taste and portion . no salad garni . no condimemnts on table . no offer of parmasan - no serviettes , poor service in general (although the lad and lass were super polite) As we were still hungry, we ordered a desert .... waited for ever .. when it arrived . we were told it was wine Weds <?? whats that ?? Its when you order a starter . or main course with a meal you get a free bottle of wine .... having purchased our last round we took the wine with us . (shared between 6) others got as a couple or a four some, thats by the by. Just sad that the two kids front of house had to serve at bar . serve dinners . clear tables . obvioulsy not noticing serviettes all used . lack of condiements etc .. and awful waits from kitchen for just **ok* food :-( Wont be back till next year now . Hoping for great improvements on taste and portions. Bring the pizza back for the weds and thursday when its superbikes . thats what we go there for :-) want to leave FIVE STAR review next year , as previous years :-)

Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast today, nicest one we've ever had. Great little restaurant with very friendly staff. I had the trio of meats as couldn't decide what to have and so glad I did.

We stayed for 1 night last night, our room was at top of building 4th floor it was not a very nice room for the price we payed, there was a funny smell all through the night, the noise from out side we could hear all night we did not sleep even though our windows were shut and secondary glazing were also shut. It is way over priced for what you get, we will not stay here again.

Ordered panko coated cod. When it eventually arrived, it was a tiny square of fish. I don't know what it was covered in, but it definitely wasn't Panko. My husband's burger was OK, but the patty had been cut in 2, ordered onion rings which were burnt on 1 side and raw/greasy on other. Service was slow, but staff were pleasant enough.
