Peacock Hotel in Cheshire West and Chester

We came for dinner and service was brilliant! We were served straight away for drinks. The wait for food wasn’t too long and all super tasty! All staff were friendly and helpful nothing was too much. We will be back 😁

Great local pub, very family friendly with rare outside space for Chester, great covered beer garden and a bouncy castle for children in good weather. Plenty of parking and very dog friendly. Welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff with plenty of events to bring the community together.

Absolutely too draw venue, great atmosphere and Helen was particularly great. Very polite, very hospitable and really recommend this pub

I went for lunch with my family as a celebration meal, the service was friendly, food was tasty and hot. The atmosphere was fun and friendly. Well recommended. We will definately be returning!

What can I say, after a very disappointing stay at the premiere inn that you can only eat and have 1 drink at and to be told this place is only round the corner (15 minute walk away) this place was my hero! The help and support was fantastic. Never have I been made to feel so welcome. Plus the food was amazing also. I sincerely recommend the Peacocks. I wished I was staying here instead. A massive shout out to Helen she is a true star to the place

Just been to The Peacock for our evening meal, as the Twirl of hay has shut down, and we at stopping at the Premier inn . We were extremely happy with our meal and overall experience. The food was enough and everything was piping hot, just how it should be. Definitely be going back tomorrow.

The building is absolutely beautiful, and we received a very warm welcome. They even had a bouncy castle that they set up for the kids, which they enjoyed. It really has a very high quality feel about it, which maybe set be up for high expectations for the food. Don't get me wrong, the food was nice, but I think the overall feel had me expecting more. But my wife had a honey chicken thing she really enjoyed. The dessert was lovely though, the kids had brownies which were great and we shared the hot honey waffles. Overall I would definitely recommend it.

First time going to this place. A little known gem Stunning

Dined here when staying at a local hotel. Good selection of drinks, great beer garden with large covered area, well decked out with tables and benches along with a number of 'huts' for more intimate conversations. Outside TVs, astroturfed and a bouncy castle for the kids. Dining areas were slighty seperated from a bar area with a pool table and games machine. Food was ordered at the bar, brought out very quickly and was to a good standard being great value for money. I chose the mixed grill and every item was cooked to perfection... By far the best mixed grill I've ever consumed in this, and higher, price range. Staff were helpful and went the extra mile.

Walked in tried to buy a drink and told cash only. Didn't have any cash on me so walked out again. Went elsewhere and spent £30.

Food was slow of coming out. not much food. l at to stop off at the Chinese on way back home. Sorry. l will be coming back.

Great time watching the football tonight, free food at half time, lovely friendly service, only spoiled by the behaviour of an ex employee, followed by a fake review above by Bethan Jones, personal vendetta against team members, sad that! Funny that both of Bethans reviews are of her boyfriends ex boss!!!

Would not recommend found slug in my house salad also my husband had a pint of ale and was very unwell the day after suspicion's that the taps are not cleaned. Do not go!!!

This place has had a new lease of life due to the manager, buzzing place during the England game against Netherlands the manager served free food at half time, I have not been part of that before, absolutely spot on

What a great pub to visit for a pint, its a great family-friendly atmosphere… ive brought my kids and they love the jumping castles on a nice hot summers day.. look forward to coming back and making it my local pub… cant wait to bring the kids in over the winter for indoor crafts and fun…

Lasagne was dry - was told "it was the last one". Partner asked for a honey dip which should have come with the meal. He never received the honey dip!!!

New management June 2024 What a difference 👏 many thanks for bringing our local pub restaurant back to its community. Great team of staff. Bar & food service good. Still going through a changing process and the locals are returning. Our food yesterday was pretty impressive. New management very assertive & runs the pub like she actually cares & wants to be there. Thank you.

Booked a table for 6 adults 4 kids arrived with my grandma who struggles to stand 3 staff behind the bar was talking amongst themselves saying that we had a booking between themselves very ignorant left us standing there for a good 5-19mins. I then asked if the table was ready and she said yes follow me. Food was very poor for the price staff was rude arrogant stay well clear of this place not very friendly or professional

Had a lovely evening at the Peacock on Monday night to celebrate my birthday. Our very first visit to this venue and what a great place. The service was spot on, Helen the member of staff who looked after us could not have been more helpful. The food was delicious and plenty of it so compliments to the chef. And there was no rush for us to leave the table when we had finished. Will certainly become 1 of our regular places to eat.

Iv visited a few times and always have a great time. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing. Definitely recommend!

Not changed .Nice staff not dined since new management

Revisited after a good experience last year and the place has really gone down hill. It used to have a really great community atmosphere making it the perfect family local but now it's all a bit grim with obvious drug use. It's a real shame; it was the perfect local. Sure, the food was never amazing (and still isn't) and the drink was ok (it still is) but it had a real sense of community that has now sadly disappeared and its become a dull generic sport pub.

Good Pub Grub. Nice staff. I was driving, so I didn't get a chance to try the beer. I would go back.

Cheap food but unfortunately easy to see why.. deep fried breaded mushrooms- stone cold, Haloumi- stone cold... kids main turned up wrong.. worst meal I've had out for years.. honestly, don't bother spending your hard-earned cash here.. if they'd bothered asking how the meal was I would have recommended that perhaps the chef should give up his day job

Don't like giving poor reviews... But food bloody awful cold and cheap..... To be fair it's not dear but be warned its very basic

I had Hunters chicken that came with chips, but in this case didn't. When I mentioned this to a member of staff he went to the kitchen then came out and queried what I was saying. I helped him out by showing the menu which clearly said chips in the meal description. The "chips" arrived in a bowl (french fries not chips) but had to be eaten quickly if you wanted them warm. Not good.

Just had a lovely meal with family in the peacock lovely staff smiles for miles very enjoyable and friendly Stella was lovely could be cheaper though 😀 I do like a £3pint definitely go again probably quite soon

Used to live locally, it had a refurbishment a couple of years ago , but was very shocked at how tired and unloved when we popped in over the weekend, food was OK but not appealing to the eye , took while to come out considering it was so quiet . Plus a none existent atmosphere. No check back at all ..

I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Ordered food, 30 mins later the most dire plates came out and were completely cold. Garlic bread was still frozen in the middle. Burger came out and rustlers burgers are better that monstrosity. 40 mins later, I asked where the rest of the food was and said I’d rather a refund as all my other friends had eaten theirs and they refused. The food came out, with something I’m allergic to on and I asked for it without. The staff were rude and honestly seemed like they had no idea they were in work. Avoid avoid avoid

We we’re severed by the amazing Gemma, as soon as she knew it was my birthday, she made myself and everyone I was with feel brilliant, wasn’t originally planning to come here, but so glad we came. Thank you Gemma, we will be back! Give this girl a promotion!

Amazing pub with a very cosy atmosphere. I went to Chester for the weekend and had a chance to meet the staff there who guided me to my destination hotel after getting lost. Throughout the weekend, I had a chance to make visits on my travels into town and was greeted with the exact same consideration and camaraderie. Would definitely recommend, and hopefully I get a chance to come again.

I popped in for a quick snack at 3:45, pub is very quiet yet I've Sat for over 30 minutes waiting for a cheese jacket potato. Another customer has just left after waiting for 50 minutes for his food. He complained but the bar person said he cant refund because hes not authorised too and no manager on site. The guy cooking the food is in track suit bottoms and top no kitchen uniform so now I am deciding not to eat.

Visited the Peacock after a long time not going there even though its my local pub. It currently has new management the atmosphere was good it was the afternoon of new year's eve the family all met up their the service was great especially the attention and service from Calum he was very pleasant other staff were on site and pleasant and interactive with the family. Very good overall experience and I will be returning their.

Not bad not expensive but 4 Tv's showing the same bloody football match so I left after my meal.

The bar tender which i think his name was Jon was amazing, such a great guy. He was welcoming, friendly and funny he had us laughing at his quirky sence of humour. The food was brilliant, quality was fab and plenty of it couldn't finish the pudding. Would come back just to see Jon he needs a pay rise

What an abolsutely amazing party from start to finish. The kids and the parents were entertained all afternoon/ evening. The fact there was no charge for what you guys put on is astonishing. The creepy crawly show was fantastic and it didn't stop there! The staff were on point, food was great and on time and nothing was too much. You were all rushed off your feet and everyone was enjoying themselves so much. I'd of paid to to come. And I can't wait to come for your Christmas event as I know it is going to be well worth paying for. Adam and emily put everything into not only the kids events but the adults too. Best halloween weekend I've had in one venue! 👏👏👏👏 round of applause to you both! Xxx

Stopped by for the bangin' 2 - 4 - 1 burger deal on Tuesdays had great service from Jon the bar tender who looks like Charles finster. The burger was almost too good to be allowed, if it wasn't for the food coma I might of been forced to kill nick the chef, but the world can still enjoy his amazing food from this delightful pub with it's cosy atmosphere.

Visited yesterday for the kids Halloween party. As per usual the pub was amazing, drinks lovely, pub spotless, staff so friendly and helpful. Cannot express what an excellent family friendly pub this is. Our favourite by far. Thanks again guys, it was perfection!

Amazing family pub, great atmosphere and even greater staff. I recommend the food, the pizza and meats are well prepared and delicious. The pub also offers weekly deals, holiday celebrations and parties, as well as live bands. 10/10 would recommend :)

Highly recommend this pub it’s always a great atmosphere and great for families. Food is cheap and cheerful lovely staff & can’t praise enough how much they put on / have for kids they have a large garden outside with toys/ ride on toys bikes, trikes scooters and more they sometimes have a bouncy castle up top which kids love. They have all kinds of family friendly events on throughout the year too last night they had the Halloween party completely free which was absolutely amazing they had met and greet with creepy crawlys show and loads of party games for the kids. Definitely worth a visit.

Thank you to the peacock for a brilliant family Halloween party. My family and friends enjoyed the entertainment so much. We all had a great time. The staff work so hard to make sure everyone has a great time. And the food is lovely too.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Some of us had roast dinner, others burgers and mixed grill. Some dishes better than others. Roast dinner could definitely do with a bit more roast potatoes. Overall, good experience and excellent service from John.

Lovely pub food, we ate every last drop of food. I recommend the beef pie and apple crumble. There was good senior 3 course meal for my mother in law as the kids all their food. Really friendly service.

With 3 young boys the Peacock has become somewhere for us all to go to, talk, meet and eat with friends whilst the boys enjoy playing both outside and inside! Food is great, small plates always good and the pizzas are really good!

Came here today for my daughters birthday, 11 of us in total and was all happy with the food and good service. Alex was great dealing with such a big table! Lots of toys for kids to play with and a good outside area/ beer garden 👍🏻

Have been on a couple of occasions for lunch and have never left hungry, plenty of choice on the menu and the staff are attentive but not hovering around so the atmosphere is relaxed.

Enjoyed our meal , the waitress was lovely , think her name was Maisie, also would like to say a huge thankyou to Jon , what a lovely guy , kindly brought another coffee for my mum who spilt her first one , 10/10 for service with a smile 😃

Good place for meeting friends and if you want to eat very good choices and they cater for different diets. Staff are friendly and helpful. Managers especially so. Will definitely call in again
