We visited on our holiday after searching for pubs nearby. The only downfall is the service was abit slow at first, obviously we’re not from the area so we got told what table we were at but didn’t get told if it was bar service or table service so we ended up sitting there for 10 mins with no menus not knowing. We went on a Sunday so the menu was two courses for less than £16! Very good value, the portions are good sizes and the food was lovely.

We went for lunch one day and dinner another day. Both meals were enjoyable though portion sizes did manage to beat us. The staff were friendly and professional. One star taken off because on both occasions a cat wandered in the bar and dining room going under tables and then jumping on to an empty chair next to us. For us it was not acceptable - we mentioned it and were told it was the resident cat!!

Went for Sunday lunch, prawn cocktail, roast beef dinner and a pavlova pudding. My wife had similar and cannot find a fault. The service was excellent and arrived in time. The Craggs was very busy but this did not affect the warm friendly atmosphere

An old village inn that has sadly seen better days. I’m giving it 2 stars purely because the owner was so friendly but the place itself felt dirty, stank of something that was akin to stale urine and was generally uncared for. A shame because it could be a nice place if some attention to detail was made. Not a chance I would go back until then.

Myself, partner and kids frequently visit and love this café, we go early as they get busy and sometimes runout of hot food. I've tried the home made quiche, soup, scones, cupcakes and thier cheesecakes I couldn't recommend enough. The ladies there are super friendly and are generally lovely. We are always made to welcome. Wether we come for coffee and a cake or a spot of lunch the cafe never disappoints!

We thought we would give this place a go since we’re new to the area, and it’s been recommended by a few people. I wish we hadn’t! We didn’t have a table booked, the waitress pointed to a table and we were told ‘there’. Menus, laminated and flimsy, just dropped on the corner of the table - no mention of specials or anything, unlike the table after us were told about. Drinks just plonked on the table. The table was sticky and the carpet filthy. There were multiple staff members ‘working’, or rather sat or walking on their phones. Food - sirloin steaks, were good with everything they came with. It’s a good job the food was alright, and it’s what gave the 1*. Service - absolutely disgusting. Did we feel welcome? Absolutely not. Vibe - gross. The waitresses mood shifty changed as we paid to leave. Will we return? absolutely not.

Lovely setting in a fabulous old building but falls far short of its potential. Menu choices very traditional/dated, food quality just adequate, coffee poor. Staff (all three of them) oddly lacking in any warmth whatsoever. Not dog-friendly so limited to sitting outdoors, which would be ok if the tables/benches weren’t so dirty, and in some cases rotten. With the summer coming, someone could at least sand them down and do some basic maintenance. Feels a bit like they’d given up.
