Spotted Cow Cafe in Allerdale

Popped in whilst waiting for garage. Couldn't fault the service, had a simple beans on toast and coffee nothing to fault. I work as a chef locally and detest the places that over charge. If you want reasonable priced, great service hot food it's the place!!

This is the worst food I've ever had .cold watery beef stew with tasteless veg and mash spent almost £20 on 2 inedible meals needless to say we won't be going back

Went in for my dinner as the home made chip butties are really nice, fancied myself a treat since it was payday and wanted a Oreo milkshake. Unfortunately this was not upto expectations as it was just a cup of milk with crushed Oreo’s dropped into it with cream on top🤯 not vanilla ice cream, milk and Oreo all mixed into one. Wasn’t happy threw it straight in the bin and won’t be goin back👎🏼

Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Decent place for a late lunch. Woukd return if coming back to this atea.

Generous portions of home cooked very tasty food at a reasonable price!! Lovely friendly staff! Will happily recommend and will return when next in the area.

I was in the Wigton UK for a wedding 6-20-26-2022 I had a New friend drop me off in the town of Wigton, I stopped in the Spotted Cow I Ordered Burger-Chips and Homemade Ice Cream ,Very Clean Place, Friendly Staff, Good Food, Clean Bathroom I even went back the next day to say Hi and grab my wife and I some lunch. As I Walked back to the Air BNB GREENWOOD House on Kirkland road I stopped in LidL grocery Store and Had such a nice Conversation with 5 different Locals and even had a very nice lady hand me a Coin to get my shopping cart :) Michael Cocoa FL

Fantastic breakfast coupled with friendly helpful staff makes this a hidden gem. Had an hour to wait in Wigtown and stumbled across the place. Would definitely recommend

Who knew these places still existed, we were starving and thought it would be lovely old fashioned homemade grub. Oh dear cannot describe what happened next, it wasn't homemade grub, it appeared to be leftovers from other meals - sprouts and chips anyone? I had to leave in the end as I couldn't stop laughing. Think Nora Battys cafe without the hygeine or camraderie , teamed with the randomness of Roysten Vasey, the scary side!

Visited today for a takeaway sandwich, me and my partner both got a prawn mayo sandwich went to pay and it was £10 for 2 sandwiches so expecting an amazing sandwich which it was not! Cheap bread and the prawns were few and far between! For the most expensive sandwich outside of an airport disappointed was an understatement 👎

We were having a day out, delaying the return home from our week in the Lakes. We stopped in Wigton, looking for somewhere to have lunch. We chanced upon this place and felt like we had struck gold! Just what we were looking for; a proper cafe with good hearty cafe food. You can have snacks or you can have main meals which are akin to a pub lunch, or you can just have tea/coffee and a cake. We were warmly greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. Friendly service and everything made to perfection!

Myself and a friend went here for a coffee, which in turn led to a 2nd and then to lunch. The staff were lovely and friendly and polite, nothing was too much of a problem for them. The food was all cooked fresh and very nice.

For an old fashioned down to earth treat this is the place! People have been coming for decades and they must be right.

Lovely cafe on the main street in Wigton. Lots of homemade goodies on sale at a very reasonable price. Premises is spotlessly clean and the staff really pleasant. Worth a visit

Three lunches and drinks for a tenner? Formica tables and old school menus? Friendly service? Not for hipsters maybe but a lovely find that has been here for decades. Loved it!

Stopped for a coffee and a bacon sandwich. Worst filter coffee ever from a cafetiere. Bacon sandwich average but outrageously over priced for a dirty little cafe. Would not return.

I've been here a number of years ago for a snack lunch and found it to be good value. This time I visited for a quick coffee while waiting for a bus connection. Same friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Great atmosphere. Good craic.

Primero de todo, la gente que dirige y cuidar el café y sus clientes es excelente y amable en la forma más de cumbria; la comida es genial y muy sabroso. . Pero supongo. . Si son demasiado saludables orientados, no para usted. Mi comida favorita personal aquí es el queso y cebolla quiche pero la siguiente mejor, es sin duda la carne de hamburguesa de queso; la hamburguesa es tan delicioso, sabroso y tierno que se deshace en la boca: mucho mejor que un Mac Donalds de llevar, o un Burger King! Todo el mundo (excepto para comer verduras y veganos) necesitan probar su deliciosa hamburguesas de queso deliciosos. Tener una visita a Wigton? Entonces debería al menos sólo ve aquí para el almuerzo. Muy sabroso! Ah. . Y también tienen un gran desayuno completo inglés; con pan frito, por supuesto!

Visit here regularly, when given the choice both my children want to get chips at the spotted cow. Decor is dated but that adds to the charm of the cafe! Always good service & with a smile too...... Keep up the good work :-)

You won't find a fine dining experience in the typical sense, but you will find beautiful home-made cakes, pies and dinners. Friendly staff and the best tatie-pot in Cumbria.

So lovely staffs friendly service nice meet friends for cuppa n sandwiches. Quiet environment no rush go home

This is a basic, good quality cafe, all fresh food locally sourced. We have visited the cafe on a regular basis for some 30 years.

Paramos para una taza, el personal era demasiado ocupados con su conversación y mi taza de té estaba apenas tibia! Sin embargo, la tarta y salsa era bueno.
