We’ve been here before twice for lunch but delighted to see they were open for a festive dinner midweek on run up to Christmas. What an absolute treat! The best cauli steak I’ve ever had! The melt in the middle pud was just amazing. These guys deserve a Michelin star in my humble opinion. The staff are always so accommodating and professional. Our friends had wanted to eat here for a while, so it was good to be able to bring them. Great start to the festive period!

We have been on previously and the food and service is superb. Great value and will go again. The soup was a lovely carrot and coriander. The turkey was cooked to perfection and the gravy is sublime. The cheeseboard was huge with a good selection and finally the mince pies were warm homemade delights. Six of us went and all loved every aspect of it.

Absolutely outstanding amazing food - exceptional! I really cannot praise Scholars enough for the very high standard of food and the presentation was really amazing - definitely Michelin Star standard. Thank you too to Karen and the students for a very good service - you were all really attentive to our needs and so friendly. I will definitely be booking Scholars again for our team Christmas lunch and also as many lunches as possible in between.

Jon was incredibly accommodating for a large booking, a lot more so than other places I had enquired with. The Butchers did not disappoint, the staff were friendly and the food was incredible, everyone in our party said how good it was. This place is definitely worth a visit. Thank you so much!

Great dog friendly place for a quick coffee and cake! We were struggling to find an appealing place for a quick cuppa when we came across Graze and we were not disappointed. And we saw the food being freshly prepared and brought out for other customers and wished we had more time for lunch. We will definitely remember for our next trip to the area.

Was in the area for the first time and stopped in. Me, my mum and her old friends who were visiting from over seas all were blown away by the warm atmosphere and beautiful views of the park all around. The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff were so friendly and polite. We stopped for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch! Couldn’t resist after seeing what was coming from the kitchen! If you’re ever in the area I couldn’t recommend this place enough - food was delicious, menu has great options and the service was excellent. And a kind thank you to the lovely welsh woman who served us, we felt very looked after. PS - the loos were also spick and span !😊

Had Christmas Dinner away from home for the first time ever and went to The Patten Arms and what a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy and the food was delicious and plentiful (even brought some home with us). We had a couple of slight changes to the menu, but Matt the chef accommodated us on every one. Thoroughly recommend and hoping to go back next year, although will definitely be going at other times during the coming year.

Fancied lunch that wasn't Spoons, and St Helens town isn't known for having a good selection of places to eat at lunch. I'd been here before when it was Vigor. A quick Google told me it was open for lunch so off we went. The food and service were perfect and reasonably priced for the quality. St Helens needs more places like this but we've definitely found our go to place for a nice lunch out.
