The service, the atmosphere and the quality of food are second to none. The chef and staff show a care and a passion for food and people and this shines through. Even added a special touch at the end of our meal for our anniversary. Simply perfect and the table was so lovely too. Thank you.

We stayed in an air b&b a minutes walk from this pub and only stumbled across it because I did my usual desperate search for decent gf food - and what an amazing find! So many choices for the main dinner meal, I ended up having chicken goujons and chips which was excellent. So good we ended up coming back for sunday lunch! A whole sunday lunch pre marked gf and df, no questions, no compromises - made my holiday! Really good with the kids too. Can not recommend more.

We stayed overnight here in our camper van with Britstops and enjoyed and evening meal in the inn. It’s a precious little place with delightful decor. The staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the Teryaki salmon and peppercorn chicken breast. Delicious generous portions We’d definitely recommend it, especially after a long day visiting Vindolanda, the Roman army museum and Hadrian’s wall. A great pit stop

Special treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful castle, attentive staff, food was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Only downside is its very expensive.

Absolutely beautiful place, the owners and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Went as a family 4 kids 2 adults everyone loved it highly recommended!

We had the pleasure of having our wedding ceremony at the beautiful Garden Station on Saturday 1st June 2024. Terry and Jill couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Very disappointed no atmosphere felt cold, got there at 9 mins to 2. Albeit food till 2pm wanted soup and sandwich but was told the chef had already closed the kitchen. I had a black tea which had a coffee taste. Husband had a pint which was cloudy and of poor quality. Would avoid this place at all costs. Everything you don't expect in a pub.

Attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Great food. Wonderful sun terrace overlooking the river.
