The best restaurants serving British food in South Jesmond Newcastle upon Tyne North East

I have always enjoyed the food I have had from Hugo's and it was the same on this visit. My panini was excellent and all food is freshly made by the charming owner who is always so friendly.

Definitely recommend the pulled pork or hot beef sandwiches and of course the home cut and cooked chips. Staff friendly and service excellent, 10/10

Excellent service, lunch set menus are very good values also presentation super. Love the art deco of the restaurant, it's my type of place to go. That's why we are all the way from London to come here just for lunch! Will definitely come back next time!

A proper pub with proper beer and proper music. 👌

Cracking pub. Can be expensive compared to your spoonses but its about right for the toon. Pool tables upstairs and plenty tellies for matches

Attended a friends birthday party. Service was sub standard and drinks overpriced. Professional photographer took nice pictures and said to simply message their Instagram account. Several requests made and nothing back. Wont be rushing back.

Thank you for the lovely baby shower at the Punch Bowl! Everyone loved the food, and the service was brilliant—so attentive both in the lead-up to the event and on the day itself. My daughter has a peanut allergy, and the care and attention given to this made us feel completely at ease. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a party. I can’t wait to come back for more food!

Lovely cafe with great potential . However a couple of the staff seemed as if they had got out of bed the wrong side . I asked a question and was snapped at .

We came for dinner, which was lovely. Our waiter, Ben, was very attentive and polite. The food was good so would recommend. Slightly more expensive place in the area but enjoyable mean, nonetheless.
