I’ve been a few times, but this time the staff were incredibly rude. . No need to talk to people the way they did. Walked out before finishing order.

Lovely little cafe set within the grounds of Exhibition Park. Had a Bacon stottie and cappuccino for £9 - worth every penny, absolutely lovely 😋

Great cheese and ham toastie and lovely coffee. Over £4 for an iced coffee is outrageous but it’s still a nice place and I’m sure I’ll return as park/lake close by so a nice morning out.

Friendly and social spot for a coffee on the morning walk. Menu looks good if you need more. Also nice to see so many kids enjoying the play park outside.

Visited today during half term. I rarely write reviews but left here feeling miserable and unwelcome. The gentleman serving was quite unfriendly and snappy, drinks then took 10 minutes to arrive (a tea and coffee which were not very hot). There were perhaps two other customers in so not busy at all. Other staff we encountered were also not friendly. Disappointing as we drive 20 minutes to this cafe/ park as the children love it. This is the hospitality industry so I don’t except to be made to feel like you are doing me a favour by serving me.

Great food and service. Plan your visit off peak and you'll get the best experience in terms of ambience and prompt service in this gem of a place.

For somewhere with ‘Green ‘ in their name I found charging extra for oat milk very odd, the barista has to make 2 , wasn’t listening, Very average v expensive coffee and Green it is not ,

Fetch back the old cafe in the park which was a country mile better than new so called urban green cafe, the place is a total rip off ! £4.80 for 2 luke warm cups of tea, it's a disgrace, don't give them your custom go elsewhere or better still take a flask,we'l never go back, !

Was a great a great cafe, nice warming and comfortable. Notice there was little bits for dog walkers and runners The drinks were very nice around my son's mouth lol

Honestly, the sausage sandwich for breakfast is the best ever. 4 days later I'm still thinking about it. Good coffee too.

Used to to be much better when the previous owners had it, now it's just overpriced slithers of cake, brick hard panini's and dry scones. Is also vastly overpriced. £2.20 for a can of pop. Staff always seem to forget something off the order or come to the table with someone else's order. I would also add on one of our visits while sat down a plant pot on the shelf above fell and landed on my elderly farther in laws head staff showed zero interest in whether he was ok or not. After a few stop offs for a coffee we stopped going.

Nice space in the middle of the Park. Coffee was nice, although did get served in a takeaway cup, even though I was sat inside.

My parents have eaten here several times and said the food is amazing. I wanted to comment on how friendly and kind the staff were. We arrived when it had been closed with the doors locked for several minutes, but my mum needed an accessible toilet and the lady kindly let us in. Thank you so much for your kindness!! We’ll be back again soon.

Could do with being open later on weekends. Kitchen shuts to early to. Very disappointed when we arrived to find cafe shirts at 4pm and kitchen was shut from 3pm on a Saturday in middle of the summer. Wish I could have rated food. But this rating is on prepared sandwich from the fridge. Coffee was very nice.

Stood in Queue for a ice cream to be told once ice cream was made that they don't do cash , Not good when u don't have your card with you and one unhappy granddaughter , Also price for cones very expensive

Great different party venue . I held my 60th birthday party here recently as it is one of my favourite places to walk and stop for a coffee .Liv and Olly and all the staff looked after myself and my guests brilliantly. Ginny the manager got her chef to create a bespoke menu of finger food at my request , including vegan and vegetarian options and it was all delicious. I was allowed to decorate the venue as I wished and they closed early to the public to suit my party time request . Urban Green are relatively new to hosting private events but I suggest you take a look and talk to them as it is a perfect and unusual venue in a lovely setting .

So incredibly slow. Don't bother. They forgot half my order and had to wait an eternity for 3 coffee's. Bring your own. I will next time

If you love ice cream then this is the place to taste the many flavours

Crawling with dogs, on chairs, on tables, blocking the aisles. Never known such slow service-4 staff watching someone make a chai latte which husbands coffee sat for 10 min. Staff look terrified. Would only go if needed the loo.

Now managed by Urban Green Newcastle. Friendly staff, fair prices, good quality bacon stottie and a coffee. Noisy when the runners are in the park on a Saturday, but nice location and atmosphere.

Disppointing visit, very weak watery tasting hot chocolate even when took back in to inform young lady who said she had added more. Coffee was decent though. Toilet was very unclean. We wont return.

After my parkrun a lovely cafe in exhibition park had a marvellous latte and a cheese scone very nice it was too they have done a great job with this cafe since it reopened will most certainly be back .The staff were very polite and most helpful

I didn't know this cafe was here. Just a 10 minute walk from the City Center. The kids had gone back to school making it tranquil and quiet , it's out of the way of traffic and crowds. The staff were lovely, very friendly, made us feel very welcome. Didn't hurry us out. We had coffee with cake, scones and Florentine's which were beautiful. Wonderful find will be visiting again.

Popular place for kids play areas

Queued at the till for five minutes to buy a bottle of water. Three staff behind the till, none of which acknowledged me. Turns out they were doing other tasks, but a simple "we'll just be a minute" would have worked wonders. When the member of staff behind the till eventually turned to serve, the comment of "are you waiting to be served" was infuriating. No, clearly I'm standing in front of you for this long holding a drink with my wallet in my hand for fun... Water was overpriced too. Overall, I like the idea of it and the menu looks appealing but the service was enough to not return any time soon. A shame.

Very nice place and big variations of food, but closing are so early 😭 please change your work time, and close at least at 5!

I've ordered ham and cheese toastie to share it with kids And we got most dry and chunky burned bread with ham and burned cheese on the edges There was no cheese inside at all or butter I thought I'll will break my teeth on it. And it cost me 6 quid Never again

This place is an absolute find, perfectly situated just outside town in a beautiful park, just next to a lake. They have the best coffee, pizzas made from scratch and a huge selection of ice cream- it’s my favourite place to go to dip out of life for a little while, and take some time for me. It’s comfy, clean and light, I can sit indoors or out (under cover!) and there’s WiFi for catching up with videos or email. Last but not least, the staff are class- friendly, helpful and efficient :) highly recommended!

Yet again hot chocolate had masses of undissolved sludge in the bottom third of mug (this has happened several times). Witnessed elder person getting quite upset after waitress repeatedly banged a glass door into the chair on which they were sitting- bizarre! Area in front of pizza oven had massive, deep trays of dried out chopped mushrooms sitting around, I decided not to have the pizza. Tables outside and chairs inside covered in crumbs and food debris. Apparently they are very busy! BUT nobody has been in the queue for more than ten minutes and nearly everyone was behind the food counter.

Don’t order an ice coffee. This is an advice from someone who had tried their Iced coffee.

Surprised by how good the food was just assumed it was a standard cafe basic panini's like stuff draw back it is ram and you have to wait

Had to pay for ice cream 1st so joined the main counter Queue, this took around 10 mins as it was a busy sunny day. We then had to join the queue for the icecream to be served. the whole process was odd as the girl on the icecream counter had nothing to do while we all queued up at the 1st counter and people just seemed to be blocking doors. Also we left a little bit annoyed when we paid extra for toppings and the customer infront of us told the lady she hadn't paid for any toppings but asked if she could have some and was told yes even though she clearly hadn't paid!!! It clearly wasn't a quick service and I fully understand why but it seemed shambolic to me the way the process was run.

An excellent cafe. Today I had a large chai latte & a crispy bacon sandwich both of which were superb. The staff are very friendly. I can't recommend the cafe enough.

Absolutely fanatic lemon drizzle that makes it 5 stars! So why only 4 no pizza was available so ended up with a sandwich which was fine but not great....

As I said on the exhibition park review, Urban Green has great coffee, pizza oven, it's dog friendly, it has lovely staff and clean toilets! What's not to like?!

Travelled here from the far side of Gateshead this afternoon. Arrived at lunchtime (1pm) only to be told they weren’t making any more food and the wait for drinks was 30mins+. Absolutely bizarre way of running a cafe business.

After a play with grandchildren on park in Exhibition park we were delighted with this cafe. Ample space, pleasant staff and catering for children and dogs . Freshly cooked pizzas, soup and a selection of sandwiches and snacks. Good child’s menu. Vegan choice. Spotless.

Excellent food and great place to sit in or out

Sadly a big scam for the ice cream…you get it in tubs, not even scoopable. You can just get that in the store…I will try the pizza ones though it looks really good on the pictures. And definitely a plus for the staff, because the store was actually closed one hour before it stated on Google Maps, but they let me in anyway:)

Worth a trip to Exhibition Park just to visit. Wood fired pizzas are great and the team who works here is lovely.

A great place to visit in amongst nature. Delightful cafe.

I don’t mind being the first to leave a positive review. The venue provided a clean, warm, friendly retreat from the rain last weekend. We were a large group with kids and they were very accommodating. Menu is limited but has enough to get the job done. I enjoyed the coffee too. A covered outside area too for some fresh air and it’s right beside a good play park for the kids. Enjoy!
