The food, services and staff wowed me. I will surely be back

I didn't order food but the staff were great, good atmosphere and the usual smart place, clean toilets etc.

Can wait 10 mins for app order when bar is quiet. Not the best service

Honestly I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this breakfast. The maple cured bacon wasn't as good as the regular bacon, but it was ok. I don't typically come into this Wetherspoons in particular, but I may have to come back again.

Always good food and quick service but I wasn't impressed with the attitude of the staff member. Where has customer service gone? There is a big notice up at the bar saying It's nice to be nice so he should follow by example . I won't be back into The Keel Row anytime soon, I usually go to the Tilly Stone in Gateshead where they have brilliant customer service

A nice little place inside the gate. Close to local bus route and metro. You get lovely food and drink at great price but the service isn't brilliant, although we ordered from our table. The staff weren't friendly or talkative but wasn't rude either. Think they could clean tables better between customers and quicker especially as not many customers in but enough staff. I do go in regularly as good value for money. Once again this place really needs to keep up the cleaning of the table I quite often visit this place and have to ask for table to be cleared and table cleaned. I was in recently and had refillable hot chocolate Unfortunately the milk ran out I asked someone in purple shirt but he didn't seem happy to have to fill the milk up. He wasn't friendly or talkative at all. Thankfully a nice man dressed all in black, black shirt, think he could have been manager helped me and apologised because I was asked to use the other machine but it ran out of hot chocolate powder. He was very nice and apologetic. Thankfully. Here are few meals that I've had recently that were really nice. Once again can't fault meal or price but the app doesn't work good because not good Internet here. Also they arnt good and clearing tables here. I had to ask someone and yes he cleared the table but did not clean the table, it was dirty so I actually moved, I asked someone to clear this table and he did not wash it either, this time I used some wipes I had on me😯 No they weren't busy either Been back few times now no real change as you always have to clear tables to sit or ask for tables to be cleaned. Prices have gone up but when they do arrive they are mostly nice ==Update== been back into weatherspoon and the table was actually cleared and clean, the food was lovely so all is good on this visit On various visits to Keel Row they never seem to clear the dishes from the tables, they take away empty glasses but never dishes or wipe table you either have to ask or put the dishes and glasses on a vacant table and I have cleaned the table myself on numerous occasions They also let male staff enter women's toilets without shouting male attendant anyone in to give you warning a male member of staff is checking the toilets, thing this is really bad Would love wetherspoon to respond to this x

Staff friendly, based inside The Gate opposite Eldon Square

I joined a queue at the bar behind two guys getting served. When she had finished pouring the drinks the barmaid just walked away and left me waiting there. After a good few minutes I asked her if there was anyone serving at this till to which she muttered something and then said I'd have to join a queue further down the bar. I complained that she could have told me that and she referred to a sign which was further down the bar from where I had been standing. She then told me I wouldn't be getting served anyway if I "carried on like that". We left and won't be back in a hurry! Enjoyed a drink in another bar nearby and got service with a smile.

Necesitaba un lugar para comer antes de ir a un concierto esa noche y así que hola, ho, ho, ho, se fue a Keel Row que, er, fuimos. El lugar fue embestido, lleno a las vigas metafóricas. Encontré un asiento justo en la parte trasera del pub a la vista de la familia que encontró imposible pronunciar una oración, cualquier oración sin jurar en los términos más gráficos. Pero el personal hizo todo lo posible en circunstancias muy difíciles y la comida estaba perfectamente bien. Teníamos el pescado con patatas fritas y sin duda era lo suficientemente sabroso. La fila de la quilla estaba bien, pero no vamos a volver con prisa.

Pitstop for a couple of drinks before going to eat in The Gate

Absolutely dreadful. I waited patiently at the bar to beig ignored multiple times. Eventually I spoke up and advised I had been ahead of the person she'd offered to serve. The bar tender was extremely rude, said she serves who she first sees, not who's been there longest. I said it was poor customer service, even the gentleman aside agreed I was first. She stormed off to get her manager "Karen" who came back and belittled me, shouted at me Infront of the other patriots, demanding I leave. Myself and the other bystanders were shocked l. I can't believe you make those less abled. I hope somethings done about this. Absolutely disgusting behaviour, discrimination in my eyes

It's set out like a working mens club. Full of drunks on a Saturday at 4pm. Not a family pub at all. We ate from the tables in the middle aisle and the food was below par with drunken lads pushing each other, sloshing drunks over people.

Early start Christmas shopping and decided to have the full English. Well worth it. Staff nice and polite. Would definitely recommend

A long hair in my bowl of chips but kitchen staff don't wear hair covers so perhaps not surprising. Four of the ladies toilets out of service. Makes me wonder about the management of the place.

Wetherspoon resturants always and never disappoint. tasty food at cheap prices but too small a portions… beers were great though. This rock n roll band are satisfied. Punk IPA Is a winner

Typical spoons. Good food and drinks at food prices. Fast service. Slow to clear tables and couldn't find a clean table when we entered, so we cleaned one for ourselves.

Price-quality ratio here is perfect! You don't pay much and the food was of excellent quality! Indian curries are highly recommended

It's a dark and dingy weatherspoons. It's cheap no other reason to go there really.

Normalmente no escribo críticas, pero estoy tan sorprendido de lo malo que es este lugar. Llevé a mi madre a un viaje por la tarde al teatro y luego fui aquí por comida después. Los dos pedimos la parrilla mixta porque estaba en especial. La mayor parte de la carne no era identificable. Definitivamente teníamos cosas diferentes entre nosotros. Sé que el cordero se puede servir rosa, lo cual está bien, pero estaba crudo. El gammon estaba gordo. El lugar es oscuro y estrecho y simplemente no fue una experiencia agradable. El que está cerca de la estación de tren es mucho mejor

Chicken was supposed to be hot n spicy but could taste garlic n herb, think they just put a glaze on the chicken

My friend and I ordered cooked breakfasts, both came barely warm. By the time we'd buttered our bread it was cold. The beans, egg, everything. The glasses for our drinks also had left over drink on the side aswell. Would not come back again.

This is a old Lloyds No1 bar that Spoonz has taken over, and it plays music so it's not your usual Spoonz crowd, the food was ok but very small portions. And the service was not great either.

Visited for a meal and drinks. Excellent value and food was tasty but not very hot. Some drink options were not available but there is plenty of choice. The pub was rather quiet in the afternoon so the service was good.

I don't eat much pizza but that day I needed some carbs, also it comes with the drink with good price ,I was satisfied with the pizza so ordered a 2nd round.

I visited today with my cousins, they didn't asked for i.d on first drinks but on next drink they created mess and manager on duty Mr.Sam told us to leave the premises , he was too rude with us , i been to many weatherspoon's but this was my worst experience and will never recommend to any of my friends, Mr.Sam you can't be racist in this world anymore! 🤞💔

Ordered a mixed grill. Meat was over done but edible. Nothing special though. Service through the app was efficient and timely and bar service was ok however it wasn't busy and a lady in front of me was missed for service due to lack of attentiveness from bar staff not keeping an eye on who was first.

Went in to get a drink after having food elsewhere. The barmaid saw us waiting at the bar but saw some of her friends come in who were really drunk, chatted to them and didn't acknowledge us. Terrible customer service, won't be coming back sorry.

Serene indoor bar/lounge suitable for all with controlled access to underage at odd hours. Service is top-notch with friendly waiters and bartendering services. Food and drinks at affordable prices. Really enjoyed my experience there.

Great place, good service. Good food

The restaurant is inside the "Gate Mall". You need to order at the bar or via their app. (Fully Self Service). No one tells you this or it's marked at the table until you ask to be served. Food was good don't expect high quality. More over its very affordable. Main course with 1 soft drink costs you approximately £12-£15. Very reasonable fot the location.

Everything you expect with a Spoons but a canny set up with great staff. Oh, and the escalators are both working again.

Drinks took forever even though it was dead, and pretty sure they gave us the cheaper version of the shots ( corkys) instead of sourz.

For breakfast it was nice and quiet on our visit, which is perfect as I have a noise sensory thing. Our drinks and food came quickly and the wait staff were super on the ball. I have to say, and this is a big deal, our breakfasts were perfect! Nothing overcooked or dry or undercooked even presentation was nice and it was HOT. Other weatherspoons take note please! Do you know how many sub par brekkies I've had at a spoons and you guys are the only ones to get a genuine compliment and for me to leave a review? It's been quite a few so congratulations. Typical Wetherspoons, cheap drinks, weird dairy smell at all times of day and the toilets are on the moon. This one is open late and not playing deafening party tunes though which make it a preference to the bar next door!

Nice seating area in the shopping centre space outside. But uncomfortably hot inside the actual pub itself.

Not a bar I hit regularly because I try to avoid the city centre unless essential. On this visit (my first in over a year said my Google timeline) the Shipyard IPA wasn't pouring its usual supreme self. I still banged down three of them seeing as I was off work that day! It's pretty compact as Wetherspoon joints go, but if you're in the building or at this end of town, it's worth a stop-off and keeps a bit more cash in the old sky rocket.

Karen (the manager) provided us with excellent service throughout our stay at keel row. She was extremely helpful and welcoming, meeting all of our demands. If you are wanting to provide a pay rise for any of your staff members I would nominate karen. She had a friendly conversation with us despite the bar being busy. As first year students we have been regulars at the keel row and it has been an amazing experience. We will keep coming back, we love you guys.

A little bit tucked away 🤔..... food and drinks all good cant complain. Its a smaller wetherspoons and on a Saturday night was very busy.... cant put my finger on it but lacked something atmosphere wise i think maybe its its location just doesnt sit right. But enjoyed time i spent there 🥂

Dark and uninviting no natural light . The breakfast I had was a new addition to the menu . Poached egg on toast guac pico de Gallo and salsa. Very good

Great place for meeting friends and having a few drinks and food, the only major disappointment to spoil things is the state of the female toilets as they're all over flowing with loo roll and full with water. Get this fixed and people will stay longer into the night.

Friendly staff and a top breakfast. Very much like every Wetherspoons but a much better atmosphere and the staff go the extra mile.

I prefer the older Wetherspoons which typically are in converted buildings and retain many original features. This one is new and I just stopped here today for an Ale. I note it was cheaper from the Bar (£1.99) than on the App (£2.73)!

This place is in what looks like a shopping centre few bars around it . Had 2 drinks in . Was gettin busy when we were there at 1pm

Got an American burger , service was really quick , prices still very low but that is now reflected in portion size. The app was a little glitchy so ordered from bar , not really an issue.

Lovely pint of real ale, went down a treat 😊
