Don't like the fact young children were still in the bar at closing time

A pub that's confused about it's identity. It has two bars, one is called a lounge, but it's a bar, just like the other one. So there is no lounge at all! Noisy pub with TV screens all over the place 🙄 Disappointing, but beer ok'ish....

Couple of beers. Nice garden and pub. Did not try food.

Got a bowl of shredded beef I think that's what it was called,urgh absolutely terrible it looked like a bowl of winalot dog food .I hated it and won't ever go back to the lochscide ever again especially not foe food 😒 🙄 😤

Asked for plan cheese flatbread and it came out with the sauce and salid and I ask to make it plan they said no

Comfortable enough, quiet when I was there beer was good £4 for a pint of Coors. Never tried the food but have BOGOF on main meals Monday and Tuesday.

I think with the changes recently, it lost some of its old local pub image. I feel the previous management had more of a connection with the punters. However, I understand the need for modernisation and change but I do wish they would get back the Saturday night bands, always was good night.

I know there's a Cost Of Living Crisis, but Christ it's Freezing in the Lochside. Food Menu is meh, but I've got to say the Sunday Lunch is Unbelievable,,, it must be made off a different Chef because the food through the Wk is not that clever. Overall the Lochside is a Summer Pub, no good in the colder Months..

Great selection of drinks, enjoyed an excellent pint. Comfy & lush decor, deffo coming again to try the food. Dog friendly too which is a big plus

Fantastic. Really friendly staff, tasty food, very nicely decorated - our favourite pub. They are also extremely dog friendly and our dog always gets a bowl of water, biscuits and some fuss!

Met up with some friends for a late lunch … it had been years since I had been in the Lochside … what a pleasant surprise a very well decorated pub with a warm atmosphere kind of place, very comfortable and really friendly staff… it was a bit busy and maybe we had to wait a little while to get served …. The food was fresh and hot and really good value for money .. the guy behind the who I think is the manager was very helpful and even delivered our drinks to the table … definitely going to go back

Me and my family came in for a meal last week we were greeted by a waitress with glasses and blonde hair I think her name was (Nicola) not to sure . But she was very helpful helped us carry drinks over and even asked if we had any allergies which is something I liked due to us having allergies it’s always best to be on the safe side ! I had the tex mex burger it was spectacular . Will definitely be back

We hired the room here for a family members wake and it was an ideal setting. The staff were really friendly and the food served was really tasty. Some of us ended up staying from 11:30am until 8pm…. So it would have definitely been worth keeping the food out but just covered for those who continued to stay here longer than expected. When we arrived after the funeral, there was an instant queue at the bar as only one member of staff was serving - I do feel this could have been managed slightly better. Other than that, thank you to everyone who looked after us throughout what was a very sad & emotional day.

The refurbishment is nice but other areas let it down, ie food & wc's (leaks behind toilets) The staff were very friendly and attentative for all they were very busy.

So decided to splash out and go for an indulgent lunch by myself and wanted to try this place since it's buyout and upgrade. I had dropped by for a quick bite one day after it just opened but thought I'd try a "full lunch". So tried 3 dishes from the "small plates" offering - buffalo cauliflower, halloumi and chicken thighs. As you can see on their website (I'm not allowed to post the link by tripadvisor). So the first issue is that EVERYTHING is deep fried. Ok - so I ordered dishes that probably would be. But there was nothing that wasn't deep fried. No garnish. No salad. Etc. nothing. Presentation was also pretty poor, but taste was good - hence the 3 stars. Halloumi - despite the menu saying it comes as "wedges" with ginger, garlic and chilli sauce - it doesn't. It's just 3 sticks of deep fried soft halloumi. More like a mozzarella stick to be honest and the most disappointing dish. Why not garnish this dish? Chicken - this tasted delicious and just the right amount of spicy. But the presentation was terrible. The "gravy" was congealed on top. It looked like dog food. But as I said was really tasty. So please - fix this presentation. Serve the grave warmed up in a "boat" to dip into for example. Cauliflower - again deep fried. Again tasty. But tiny pieces. Enough overall but tastes more of batter than cauliflower as a result. So overall - not bad but could be a whole lot better!

Would not recommend the food /service, went with friends for tea, waited an hour for meals, then one meal did not arrive was told after waiting an hour they had ran out of what my friend ordered, absolutely shocking, after complaining manageress told my friend she would ring her next day and to give us 50%, off next meal for as many people as we want, but manageress did not call. Absolutely shocking

This was one of my favourite places before it was took over and got a refurb and now it still is, the staff are great the food excellent and my Husky was treated so well and made so welcome, absolute the best local ❤️

Very friendly and welcoming. Went there for a family meal. Seems to be a popular place. We had a decent meal and a bonus was the dog got a couple of sausages for free as her “dinner”. Nice touch!

Plenty parking,food (hunters chicken chips and peas). Chicken and chips were delicious but the peas were overcooked. Waiter was polite but proceeded to remove our empty plates before some of us were finished eating.

Got to give it 5 stars for the food,staff,and upgrade to the premises, well worth a look in.

After booking a table for 8 we were looking forward to the new pub and expecting good food. That’s were the expectations ended. We were put in the bar area between two doors that were letting in a draft and being December it was freezing. The food order arrived in bits and bobs so some had eating there food and others had not been served. The food was disgusting chips and chicken well over cooked. Then to top it off we had to clear or own table to finish our drinks. The two young girls that waited on us were friendly and polite but still learning. I would rather eat yellow snow then eat in there again.

A pub that has a different feel just off the Coast Road. Sitting in the lounge area, if it wasn't for the houses round about, you could be anywhere. Lots of space and large bar room at the back. Food is available, dog friendly and a large car park

recently revamped pub. good choice of meals . we had a double chicken breast burger with fries. really enjoyed it. No football playing so not too busy and quiet. match day might be a lot different. Service was fine. Reasonable prices for the food.

Really enjoyed visiting this deservedly popular pub which is known for offering a lot more than just great bar meals and a fine selection of value for money drinks. A brilliant place to watch football matches. Well worth a visit.

Its a lovely refurb with lovely staff and some good beers but like a lot of others, dont like the 6 seat tables.my wife and me were sitting having a quiet beer and looking through the menu for some food but were joined by 4 others who were anything but quiet nor could we have a private conversation.because of this we ditched the menu and went for a takeaway.

Having been regulars under the previous ownership we were both excited and slightly anxious about the recent changes. We've been a couple of times now, and yes, it looks lovely. But...the new lounge/food area is noisy and very hard to hear each other across a table. Food prices have shot up and portions have shrunk. Unsure why the kitchen closes at 5pm on a Friday as this is the earliest time we would want to eat at the end of a hard week. Menu limited, where are the spicy/healthy/international options? Wine is also expensive unless you're out in the week. Staff are lovely but not sure that's enough to go again.

Came back to the refurbished pub for the quiz we’ve been attending for a long time. Quiz has changed to big bar tab prizes, not the same and may attract more professional quiz goers. It was chaotic although I appreciate it’s early days. The pub advertised 4 local ales but 3 of these were not available last week. The decor is better but the ladies toilets were disgusting, only 2 cubicles and one was locked as not working leaving one for a full pub, they were very smelly and certainly had not been refurbished with the same thought as the pub. We were very disappointed, nice wallpaper but not the same atmosphere or a feeling of care and concern . We’ll try again tonight.

Popped in for hoping for tea . Refurbishment lovely outside realy nice. Total downside no non alcholic beer. So suprised everywhre caters for nondrinkers except here. They realy need to look at catering for everyone. So left and moved on to the newton which did sell non alcholic

Looks very nice inside. Designed for sporty people, 3 large TV’s, a darts area, ( no seats) a huge pool area (no seats) everyone sitting had all the spare seats “free” seats kept for their friends, although whilst I was there, not one of the ” friends” turned up. Had to stand by the doorway just to have somewhere to put my drink down. First impressions….. very disappointed in the reception. By other customers. Would I come back? Everywhere deserves a second chance, I suppose. Drinks, average price.

First time at this pub popped in for a spot of lunch while waiting for a car repair at a nearby garage, we were not disappointed at all, speedy service, clean and fresh cooking, husband had the all day breakfast and said this was one of the better breakfasts he has had (and all day breakfast is one of his go to meals so he has had a fair few), I had the pulled pork baguette and it was delicious, both meals were good size portions, no room for desert, very content and happy, total price with drinks was just under £17. if it wasn't so far from home we would definitely return

We have been for a tea time meal on several occasions now and have always had a tasty, no frills experience. The madras is particularly good. Young staff very pleasant. Always value for money.

Mid-week visit - helpful staff - great home made dinner of corned beef pie with loads of fresh veg - mash, cabbage, turnip and carrot s and gravy. The meal was hot - really enjoyed and will be back, Rivet Catcher was grand too - thank you x

Went for Sunday lunch and the meat was nice but the veg is freezing cold, no one checking it , chef is there in front of you wants a good telling he is $hit . No hot caution signs, and toilets are manky Well best to avoid this place . 👎👎👎👎 If a chef can't get an Sunday lunch right he really is not a chef

Visited this local bar/restaurant for a lunchtime meal today , with family. Not many people in but the room looked ok. All four ordered from the two for a tenner menu , four all day breakfasts in fact , and we were'nt disappointed. The meal consisted of two sausage , bacon , eggs(free range) , mushrooms beans and chips , well cooked and served promptly. Beer was ok , though i wish i'd tried the timothy taylor. The meal was too much for two of the party though myself and my sister had enough room for sweet. I tried jam roly poly , hadnt had it in years and it didnt disappoint , nice smooth custard on suet based roly , lovely. All in all a pleasant and satisfying meal and we would visit again.

We really enjoyed a couple of relaxed hours at the Lochside at teatime yesterday. The Timothy Taylor Landlord was excellent and a regular real ale. Went for the 2 meals bfor £10 fish, chips, mushy peas with tartare sauce which also great - fresh and not too long a wait. Was getting busier just before we left but plenty of helpful chatty bar staff on and service was very good - would recommend and will return x

Vivimos localmente, pero hace mucho tiempo que no, y ahora sé por qué.Decidió tomar una copa y sentarse fuera debido al buen clima. Esta área es una vergüenza para una cervecería al aire libre. Hay mucha basura y árboles rotos, el suelo está lleno de cigarrillos debajo de las mesas,Al entrar al pub hay un olor terrible.Cuando no hay nadie en el salón un viernes, debería haberme dado cuenta de lo poco acogedores que son, nadie vino a servirme, tuve que llamar la atención del personal del bar, no fue bienvenido, puso las bebidas en el mostrador. bar, (puede agregar que se derramó un poco) después de pagar, simplemente se fue sin comunicación alguna (¡agradable y amable, no lo creo!)Si lo único que le interesa es tomar una copa en un entorno desagradable, en un personal antipático, y quiere ver deportes, también tienen música en vivo en ciertas noches, entonces este es el lugar para usted, pero si quiere una bebida en un lugar agradable, limpio ambiente amigable y luego evitar. Buena comida sustanciosa y sin sentido servido de manera rápida y eficiente. La selección de cervezas y sidra es muy buena. La cerveza escocesa de los inquilinos fue excelente. El pub es amplio y adecuado para familias con niños pequeños. El pastel de carne picada era encantador, como el bistec estofado. Toda la comida tenía un precio razonable.

Si te gusta pubs tipo tradicional finca con cerveza bien cuidado esta aprobación se encontrará con usted. La Directora y su equipo un amable y acogedor incluso ofrece tablas sandwich en nuestra visita. Con una gama de pantallas de un número de eventos deportivos podría verse en cualquier momento. Just back from windermere and we paid 35 pound for 2 pints 2 roast beef and it was rank we called in here as always mince and dumps mash 4 fresh vegetables, wife had roast beef 4 veg new and roast pots 2 drinks all for less than 14 pound and hey ho it was edible and tasty . Same standards here for years keep it up

Mi familia y yo realmente disfrutamos de nuestra Domingo Cavary almuerzo. Hay un montón de opciones caseras de verdura y carnes a elegir. y un ambiente agradable y hogareño, para disfrutar de la comida. El personal del bar y el chef es muy amable. y así es la dirección. No puedo esperar a volver de nuevo.

Estuve con un grupo grande de amigos (14) para comer el domingo. Sorprendentemente, no aceptaban una reserva telefónica para el grupo pero decidimos oportunidad de todas formas. Después de las mesas alrededor de una arrastran poco nos las apañamos para sentarse juntos. Otros comensales estaban felices de moverse a lo largo de un poco para ayudar a este suceder - Gracias chicos!

Buena selección de cerveza lager y todo el personal muy amable, especialmente Ann el propietario/la comida está bien una buena relación calidad-precio para la atmósfera de dinero muy amable lo recomiendo a todo el mundo

Local public house which is nicely decorated. The lounge is comfortable and the food is good and saturday night entertainment is on most weekends but check the posters or there facebbok page for bands detailsThis is a sports bar so be prepared for football, cricket and rugby throughout the day and evening. And not forgetting the manager is a massive horseracing fan !!The male services need a refurb but all in all a nice place with good pub grub and a decent Sunday lunch.Plenty parking with security cameras and well lit.

Well kept celler, good choice of beers and lagers and geared to be a sports Bar. But missing out on the local families on not catering for young families.

The pub itself is basic, very basic.However, the upgraded food is very reasonable pub food.The menu is large and varied and there are also specials on a blackboard.The vegetarian (not that I’m a veggie!) Bellissimo burger was very nice and the scampi got a thumbs up.They do one real ale.Service was quick and the prices very reasonable but you wouldn’t want to go and eat when Newcastle are on the many TV screens there.My only complaint is that when I asked if they did food a then took a menu and ordered a drink they didn’t tell me there was a food + drink offer.
