Buntys chip stop in Newcastle upon Tyne

Lovely hot fresh as usual, big portions!

Absolutely shocking. I ordered because of the reviews I seen said their food arrived piping hot, mine was freezing. Smallest bag of chips I've ever seen for £3 and crap quality jumbo sausage as my second bite had a hard lump of something as hard as plastic nearly chipped me tooth. Never again!

Went to Buntys in Durham and had a lovely fish and chips. The owner chatted to me about how he was operating since 1993 from Westerhope so decided to give Westerhope a try. The food from Westerhope was absolutely disgusting, the fish and chips came with a horrible smell like something was off. And the accompanying photo is the untouched fish which was provided which look like offcuts. Would not go back, terrible. I waited 7 mins for those offcuts of fish to be cooked, when they arrived they were wet and the batter was unpleasant. I have paid full price for three fillets of fish, two of the three came as scraps like in the picture. I had not paid for cheap offcuts and scraps. It was predominently the chips carrying the odour mentioned earlier as though they had been cross-contaminated, whatever it was it smelt disgusting and I could not bring myself to eat them. The curry was thin and watery, and not served in the large pot requested and paid for. When I went back to complain about the food the male had the audacity to blame the young women for the state of the fish, even though I had watched him dispense them in the oil and cook them. The same male had been talking to the women aggresively and rudely in front of several customers which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. They are taking the absolute mickey trying to pass off such disgusting quality muck as food.

My partner and I have been using Buntys for years. We have recommended the takeaway to severals friends and family members as the food is always great. I would like to feedback that the delivery driver is always late and blasts music from his car!!

I asked for a large kebab and got a small one paid for a large one I want a large one and it was freezing cold so ended up In the bin

Chips were lovely but the garlic bread was probably the worst garlic bread I've ever tried, one bite and straight in the bin 🤢 cheap pizza base with garlic granules ontop that have burnt

Put an order in which contained 2 meals eg chips & sausage, kebab & chips then 3 separate items from the menu we did NOT want put together hence ordering them separate yet the takeaway put them together in the same tray! so they went in the bin will not be ordering again

I ordered a 12’ pepperoni and got a small cheese and ordered a cheese burger with no bun? I am really disappointed and waited an hour for this food for it to be incorrect.

Buntys at Durham I've just ordered a xlarge mixed kebab and my chips are missing and telephone off I've had to take pics for just eat as claiming back got pics aswell

Had donner and chips with garlic and chilli, wasn't the best food but not the worst I've had. Everything was very dry

Bad manners driver was not going to give my food he asked for a code l said the last 3 numbers from number will do the time took took to understand my food was just warm

Bought a kebab wrap and it was terrible. Meat was cold, the bread/wrap was hard in places as they didn't warm it, just fell to bits as I tried to eat it. Ended up chucking it in the bin. Gutted as has some good reviews and looks decent.

The pizzas are delicious. I will definitely be ordering from there again.

Not sure if it's under new ownership because the last 2 times we have purchased fish it has been dry.

Only thing that let this order down was the chips cooked but still white other than that very nice.

absolutely love the food from Buntys always gets delivered on time, food always lotto, fish bites are perfect,gravy,curry and garlic sauce is to die for,chips taste like you get from the coast again beautiful, if I could more stars I would thank you for the lovely food.***********😁

Lovely staff and food really good only thing is the portion have got really small and the prices have gone up massively got cod bite and chips was small and bag of chips and small curry one can of pop £18 think far too expensive

the fish is cooked beautifully chips could do with being more crispy rather then greasy and looked a bit white, curry sauce is lovely to, my son loved the pizza , food came nice and hot which is a bonus happy happy happy would deffo recommend this chips shop 😋

This has to be the worst chip shop in the area, I ordered off uber delivery was OK but the food was terrible. The chips were pale and barely cooked and was the smallest portion I've ever seen,the kebab was small with a handful of meat more lettuce than meat the pitta was dry ,like cardboard. I won't be going there again!!

I have ordered from here a few times now and found that the fish is absolutely amazing, but fancied a change last night. I ordered a large kebab with salad 2 chips and regular tray of kebab meat, when it arrived there must have been 1 scoup of chips I did request batter but never received any, I would rather wait the extra time for them to make some which takes less then 5 minutes as I used to work in a very busy chippy so the portion size for the chips was ridiculous especially for £ 3 a bag. I then opened my so called large kebab and salad I must have been given 6 slices of meat half a lettuce leaf thinly sliced 3 pieces of sliced onion and that was it, not an exaggeration there was more meat in the regular tray so disappointed I didn't eat the kebab as the meat that was there was like leather. I will not be ordering from here again which is said as I have had good quality food in the past but I had my eyes ripped out last night and quality and quantity were appalling

Wow literally delivered 10 mins after ordering. Was really glad as they were for my mam who had no electricity all day as there was a fault and hadn’t had a hot meal. Fresh and piping hot! Thank you

Ordered fish chips and curry the fish was mainly batter the chips worm iv shopped at buntys for years but the last few months has been terrible the Quality poor will stop shopping there definitely has went down hill for the price should be more fish then batter normally great

Missing kids meal but delivered 40 mins later after calling and complaining, literally half a bag of chips when I asked about the tiny portion size was told there’s nothing they can do, (there was twice as many chips in the kids meal)

Best Chippy in Newcastle. The truffle vol-au-vents with lump fish caviar are superb. Why this place doesn't have a Michelin star is a mystery?

I put a order on for 7.30pm because nobody would be home who the meal was ordered for. But the meal arrived 3 hrs to early so it was cold by the time they got home

Absolutely terrible customer service from the workers, been coming here for months and it seems to be a reoccurring thing, I'll just be going to a different chippy down the road since these can't stay professional or treat their customers with courtesy

I would definitely recommend this fish and chips shop, food is great, and a good variety is well worth a look.

Placed my order all good and well. When the order had arrived, they had missed 2 sauces from the order. The chips and jumbo sausages were all stale and hard, NOT EDIBLE! With the cod bites there was bone, totally not exceptable. Tried to call restaurant 4 times no response, poor customer service!

Had a fish and chips yesterday after a long time which was outstanding and absolutely top quality fish and chips - definitely recommended.

Simply the best fish and chips shop Fish is always in crisp batter unlike other places. It has become our first choice for fried food.

I ordered a chicken wrap , corn beef patties with chips and mushy peas, what I received was a wrap which contained chicken , kebab meat and chips, which I didn't order , obviously whoever made this order couldn't read

I usually don't do reviews like this but after visiting Bunty's Chipstop for Fish and chips with my some off my friends, there was a specific lady who had a very cold and unprofessional attitude. After looking at the standard of the shop, the management needed to pay more attention towards the cleanliness as it was very poor. The uniform of the staff working at the front of the shop was also very dirty and unhygienic and I felt uncomfortable. the standard of food was also very low compared to before. The person who does the frying of the food is either new or has not been properly trained. Hopefully this information finds you well and this healthy critism is useful in upgrading the quality and standard of Buntys fish and chips.

I use this shop now again and has generally been good went tonight large kabab was not large at all meat was like leather and cold won't be getting one again the rest if the food was OK

Food wasn't hot so had to reheat, the burger looked like it had just been thrown together, burgers themselves were so dry and stuck to the actual bun. Fish and chips were ok. Overpriced.

I've used Buntys for absolute years, but over the past year or so it's went downhill. Tonight chips were anemic and hard not cooked properly, the fish was greasy, spam fritter very thin so crispy when cooked, sausage was just about cooked, I'm sorry but for nearly £20 I expect so much better, sack your fryer, change the oil and get standards back to where they have always been. Won't be going back, I'm sad about this as Bunty is a great bloke.

Ordered the pepperoni pizza, hardly any pepperoni on it and not a single bit of pepper or onion as advertised. Very disappointed in the quality of this and wouldn’t order a pizza from here again. The batter on the fish was soggy, the curry sauce is very watery and lacking in flavour. The chips were nice though.

Gorgeous food as per usual and the staff are always kind and welcoming. Love myself a good buntys food order.

They sent the wrong size kebab wrap didn’t receive cheesy chips shocking service

It Was disgusting, I unwrapped my kebab wrap and fat and grease was just pouring all over the place, I had to drain the kebab and the amount of grease and fat was absolutely disgraceful, the Smokey sausage was stale and tasted vile. Never again.

Just had some food delivered. Part of the order was wrong and food was cold. I Phoned to inform them the order was wrong , they were not interested and their response was we will ensure the next order is correct. They will not get the next order as of me at all. Food that was correct was tasteless and cold. It was quite expensive for what it was so this is not a good enough service. Do not order from here . Definitely will not recommend.

Mixed reviews of this order. The food was ok, some items lovely, some not as nice as other fish & chip shops, that’s personal taste. I don’t usually write reviews unless I love it but I feel I should write a review as when the food was delivered we were told we live further than 2.5 miles away & they didn’t deliver to our address! Yet they accepted the order, took our payment & delivered! Something they should take up with Just Eat rather than having a bit of a go at a customer about to eat!!!!!

Got a chicken kebab still trying to find the chicken. Garlic sauce had no taste and not worth the money as portion was small not large like stated very poor for the price

Grafted hard today, as did wor lass (13 hour shift for her as a NHS midwife). Got home at hapast eight. Needed food, both fancied chips. Got to Bunty’s at 20:54 only to find the shutters coming down as the guy just stares at me through the window. If you’re going to stop serving before published closing time then don’t publish opening hours. Raging.
