The best restaurants serving British food in Central Darlington North East

Lovely family run business. Food was made on the premises and was great. The sausage rolls and cakes are amazing, we will definatly be going again. Friendly efficient staff and beautiful little tea room.

Really good food and really friendly staff and at good prices would go again

From the heart this place offers excellent support for the over 50's in regards to the likes of help and support for benefits etc. However, the cafeteria is not good at all and the beverages are below average. Over priced and worse than school dinner meals.

My recent visit to left much to be desired. While the oat flat white was good, the sandwich mix-up was a letdown. I received a cheaper sandwich instead of the one I ordered and paid for, and the staff's lack of friendliness added to the disappointment. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't address the issue immediately. Hopefully, improvements in service and accuracy can enhance the overall customer experience at the shop.

I was last here a year ago when it had just been taking over. I had a curry, it was really good, couldn't fault it. The owner, Gina, is really nice she couldn't do enough. Recommended

Este es el mejor café, no solo en Darlington, sino en cualquier lugar. La bienvenida es siempre increíblemente cálida, siempre estamos sentados apropiadamente (aunque se aconseja reservar como lugar muy, muy popular ! ) Las combinaciones saladas en el menú del brunch y el almuerzo son tan diversas y la presentación y el sabor son verdaderamente de clase mundial! es casi imposible tener espacio para un dulce después... .. pero tan difícil de resistir y siempre se puede llevar una rodaja de horneado o pastel a casa. Lo recomendaría a todo el mundo.

We were looking for a morning coffee and potentially a place for lunch with friends. It was too small and busy for lunch but we had a coffee. My flat white was very good. The cakes looked good.

It was hard o choose food as the menu was so varied and good, including kids, vegetarian, and all day breakfast. Four of all chose something different. Fish and chips, scampi and chips, stroganoff and salt and pepper chicken with veg, rice, and prawn crackers. It's all really tasty, so definitely be back to try more. Staff polite. The atmosphere was quiet at 3.30pm but as we were leaving about 5.30pm it became quite busy.

Extremely poor customer service, while ordering a drink they stated they did not have the ingredients at hand to order the cocktail they advertised on the bar. Then as I tried to decide on another drink the extremely rude and abrupt bar staff rang the bell and stated I could not have another drink.

Great breakfast Sammie was cheerful helpful and made us feel welcome from when we entered till we left. Food was great value and good quality. Any one looking for good atmosphere great service and hot food The woolen mill is ideal venue.Thank you Sammie and staff

Love patting the goats and riding in the enchanted subway train ride. Best day out ever!!

If I could put zero stars I would. Went for drinks and a meal with my girlfriend who went to the bar to order for us. Both meals came with free drinks but the barmaid made a mistake and didn't get one of the free drinks with the food that my gf had already paid for. After my gf had made the staff member who called herself the manager aware that one of the free drinks hadn't been added she told her that she had already agreed to the transaction and if we wanted a drink with it we would have to pay for it. Obviously this made my gf embarrassed and she came to get me to sort it out but I got exactly the same treatment and she repeated the same thing to me that we had already agreed to it and if we wanted the drink now we would have to pay. Things got heated as the girl was like the character out of little Britain basically saying computer says no! How she has the audacity to call herself the manager I will never know, she is an embarrassment to the chain and should not be working there. I for one will never go to William stead again after going there for years.
