The best restaurants serving British food in Newham London

My partner being a massive Iron Maiden fan wanted to come visit here when we were in London for another concert. The night we were free to come through just so happened to be the same night another gig was on at the Cart & Horses - it was Airforce, so we decided to book tickets for this too. It was one of the best nights out we’ve had! From the moment we stepped up to the door to the very late time we left was just filled with friendly faces, great banter, well priced drinks and awesome music! The staff were just amazing, a massive shout out to one of the managers Pete, who was so cool with us the whole night, looked after us, told us so many stories - music related and others, and I left with a few collectibles. Can’t thank this place enough for the great memories and we’re desperate to come back here in December! 🖤

Can only give a bland 'neither here nor there - middle of the range' score because we didn't actually get to enter. Hence nothing to judge! Accompanied friend, on Good Friday, who had travelled from West Country, particularly looking forward to sampling the much acclaimed BJ'S Pie & Mash Called by phone beforehand but received no reply or recorded message. However, the Website definitely declared that the place was 'open'. Mightily peeved therefore on arrival to a find notice on door stating that the establishment was closed for Easter. Such a shame that the website didn't provide up to date information and that the phone didn't respond with similar information. Great disappointment!

Fuimos allí para la cena en febrero con un grupo de amigos y el bistec estaba delicioso! ! Absolutamente precioso. Pedí un filete que se traían en una piedra caliente con una selección de tres salsas diferentes. Todas eran muy sabroso! Pedimos varias botellas de tinto, que era muy agradable! Único decepción fue que pedimos varios entrantes, uno de los cuales era jamón y cuesta £3. 50. Sólo nos dieron una porción! Ciertamente no arruinar nuestra noche y sin duda volveré!

He tenido una tarta y puré de unos pocos lugares alrededor de East London, así que creo que es seguro decir que sé decente cuando intento. Este lugar es muy agradable. Y entregar, también! Tartas son sabrosas, no grasienta cata o quemados, y bien lleno. Puré es muy bueno. Salsa y el licor (SI ME mal escrito ese derecho) son la guinda del pastel, lo hacen. Los precios están bien y hacen una oferta familiar que es perfecto. Sólo es el dominuto la falta de aparcamiento. Realmente es dejar que este lugar para clientes potenciales, pero se puede aparcar al otro lado de la calle, en Tesco.

Just moved to the area and love the Haddock & Chips or a quick Chili dog. Very fresh fish and perfectly cooked. Friendly service and super clean inside. I’ll definitely become a regular here!

This place scores a big zero for ambience. But hey! Who's looking at the surroundings when tucking into the tastiest cheeseburger I've had in ages. For £7.50 it comes with fries and a can of soft drink as well as some lovely garlic mayo and ketchup.

Absolutely wonderful afternoon tea! The savory sandwiches were so delicious as well as the lovely desserts. The attentive service, the view of Big Ben and The River Thames along with the delicious food made my niece’s birthday celebration all the more special. Our server Christina provided excellent hospitality making this experience outstanding . Thank you Christina and The Library.

The best fish & chips I have experienced in London

2001 was when I first had Pie and Mash when my Dad brought me to Upton Park to see the mighty Hammers. I didn't just fall in love with the team that day, I feel in love with Pie and Mash too! Since then, I've yet to try a PAM that even comes close to this one, it was simply the best Pie & Mash around. The long long matchday queue going down Barking Road. even on a freezing cold February night was so worth it when you get to the door and you can start to smell the goodness. This place would be very popular if it returned, BRING IT BACK!

We love this little cafe, The food is great. The menu is limited, but it's good food and friendly service. For a pound donation, the gardens are a nice walk around with some interesting sculptures. Worth noting - don't be scared of the understated entrance, the gardens are quite large, there's plenty of parking and on a sunny day the cafe has loads of outdoor seating.

Central Cafe is another place for proper English food! Located at the Market Village in Stratford Shopping Centre. I was really impressed because they serve pie mash from my favourite Maureen's who are the best purveyors of Pie Mash according to the Pie Mash Liquor group. I dined there for spaghetti bolognese with freshly grated cheese. Just like the menu said, it was served with freshly grated cheese!! Cheddar cheese definitely wins over parmesan and tasteless mozzarella! I had so much cheese left that I ordered some extra chips to make cheesy chips and they didn't charge me for the chips. They are a friendly cafe with a good bond with the guys at the famous chips and curry sauce joint nearby.

I have read a reviews and drove there for an hour. Starving. At first I thought it was a bit quiet. And they said kitchen is shut. Very disappointed. Luckily there was a nice corner shop with delicious things. So had to have nibbles in the car. Saved myself a hundred quid ";))

A very cosy place which was perfect for a lazy (cloudy) Saturday snack. The pancakes were delicious!
