Cargo House people - Let's find another place to hang out in the area. Let's file a petition to get another pub worth going as THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER. I had the worst experience ever. The coffee machine was broken. The staff was rude and impolite. They send us a bad garlic bread and when informed, they were indifferent. We were served by a female staff. We also spoke to the manager and she was as rude as one can be. Do not visit ever. Edit - The manager responded, of course! I can't add a response to their reply and therefore editing this to respond. Firstly, I said 'I have rather somewhere imp to be' because you, "the manager" was not open to a mature conversation. You pretended like you didn't know what happened while you later agreed you were aware of exactly what had happened and how your staff treated us. And of course I would add a review (in micro seconds!!) about my experience because in case you didn't notice, I tend to do that quite often (I have given around 100 reviews). To your point about having a conversation with you, we tried speaking to each member of your staff and none of them had even an ounce of decency to listen, just like you. So please don't even pretend that you value feedback. It was 7-8 of us out for a casual evening. We ordered one Sourdough cheesy garlic bread that had 4 slices of bread if I'm not mistaken, it is a little obvious that even if 8 of taste a dish, at least a half of it would get over. Do some basic maths! Also, in your response, thank you for teaching us how a sourdough cheesy bread tastes, just what I expect from a disrespectful insolent person like you. Oh! and yes we prefer to order finger food only in a PUB, some of us couldn't order drinks because YOUR coffee machine was broken.

At Galyons Bar, the service provided by their staff, particularly Vika, is top-notch. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and knowledge of the menu elevate the experience. All of the staff were so friendly, my waiter Malachi helped me navigate the menu for my preferred choice, then the waitress Hannah helped us choose our cocktails and they fantastic! The food, drink and service were impeccable. I would happily recommend this pub to anyone for meal or an event for a birthday or celebration, it is the perfect venue!

Visited this place a few times before and no complaints, but this last experience was different! Staff - we were served by a lady who was quite rude. Service - we sent back some garlic bread and were returned the same plate with extra garnish instead of a replacement Food - garlic bread tasted odd and very sour! Sweet potato fries were great!

Disappointed with few staff member’s service and behaviour. Quite rude. The garlic bread was tasting sour and when asked to replace it with new one, they simply gave the same old one with few herbs sprinkled. Zero consideration.

Had an amazing dinner here last week! Brilliant new menu and even better service, especially from the young lady Victoria and from Lewis. The new management has done a great job at turning the place around, the atmosphere has completely changed for the better! To anyone thinking to come and have a nice dinner- definitely check out the steaks and the moules. 5 stars all around!

EXTREMELY rude staff, as we were leaving an employee (a young white girl I think her name is Victoria) came up to us and asked someone I was with if they were the person who left a bad review (which they did, the only reason we came back was because we were in the area and gallyons is the only place in the area). The employee then proceeds to start shouting at us, calling us racists (in the review my friend who wrote the review, a south Asian woman described one of the employees as a brown man which was purely to identify him and was not racism of any kind) she said we should not have come back, that we were lucky to be allowed in at all (this was whilst we were stood at the front door so the employee was shouting, embarrassing herself in front of all the customers) the employee carried on saying “our manager was so upset” and carried on shouting at us “your review was so disgusting and rude” whilst we stood in confusion. I then said “the review reflected the service that we received on the day” and she kept shouting over me. She then proceeded to storm off like a child without listening to anything we had to say. Firstly I would like to ask management, is this how you respond to a bad review? Verbally assaulting us as we try to leave your establishment after we have been paying guests for years? I find it extremely insulting and unprofessional that you would allow an employee to approach us over a bad review, to call us names and shout at us and it makes me question what kind of conversations have been had behind closed doors, is this standard practice for you? Do you have pictures of everyone who has left a bad review behind the bar so you can send your goons to harass them? Next time perhaps consider that people have the right to leave reviews that reflect the service they receive in your pub and shouldn’t be harassed by the staff. Secondly, is this the professionalism that you expect of your employees? She came and yelled at us like a child and stormed off the same way. It is completely unacceptable and honestly embarrassing that she would think that kind of behaviour is acceptable in a professional establishment to paying customers. Also I want to add, there was no manager in sight for any of this, nor did any other employees step in to remind their colleague that they were in a professional environment and not in a street fight. This is completely disgusting behaviour and your employee clearly does not belong in any professional workplace if that is the way they resolve conflict with customers and I would be happy to suggest some training courses catered towards conflict resolution and customer feedback support. Lastly the food is still terrible and I wouldn’t put it past them to have purposefully overcooked the halloumi fries because we previously left a bad review

Best Sunday roast I've had in a long time! ⭐️ Highly recommended! 👌🏻

Just moved to the area and decided to try this place out. The interior is lovely, and the service was great. The food was wonderful; I had the duck breast, which was delicious, and my partner had the beef burger, which he loved. It was a lot quieter than I thought it would be around 5:30pm on a Saturday, but it started to pick up a bit as we were leaving. Prices were on the more expensive side, but I will be returning for sure!

Previously had given 3 stars under last management but the new galyons is a nightmare. Have gone multiple times hoping it will improve but to no avail. First time we went waited an hour for burnt food (which we could smell from the table before it even got here) and our dirty fries still wasn’t ready. Lady at bar said she’d given our drink for free which I assumed would be the cocktail but instead was a measly £3 taken off for my diet coke. Second time we waited an hour again for an underwhelming roast that was interrupted by a fire alarm. Also at one point after our mains came I harmlessly asked the waitress how long for our bread (which had been advertised as a starter!) and she snarkily went “it’s coming now i only have two hands”. wish she had given me the chance to explain that i was asking because the bread should have come out first and not with the mains. abysmal service especially from the brown guy and brunette young lady who seems to have no idea what they’re doing and no interest either. i remember once i listed multiple cocktails in the menu to order because they could not make a single one and instead had to settle for a pint.

Under new management, thank goodness..👌 Service much better, food excellent, atmosphere very chilled, classy, steeped in history, great little East End pub, well worth a visit, traditional Sunday lunch, is highly recommended, superb... 👍In fact any day of the week is good for food, still early days, for the new manager, but wow, what a difference in such a short time, watch this space for updates. 👍

Went the other week for a roast. Nearly 25 quid for a roast and pint now compared to 18 before and no better quality. Manager feels football brings anti social behaviour? Now targeted for people who own 500k flats rather then actual renters, people who work local and students. Shocking move

We used to go regularly, went last night after having not been for a few months. It was quieter than usual, the food isn't as good as it used to be, and the prices skyrocketed. Won't be back

New management who have upped the price of everything, no sports on TV anymore and no atmosphere at all. It is a shame as it used to be a great place for a Friday drink and lunch. Advertised price of food on the menu is not what you pay on your bill. fish and chips advertised as £13.90 but the price is now £18. Parking is no good due to contractors parking everywhere and in the reserved spaces for the pub.

Food was below sub par it never used to be this way, not sure if there’s a management or what but it’s went seriously downhill in the last couple of months. Food quality has dropped massively while the prices have been put up. NOT GOOD

Used to be a nice chill spot to hangout and get food. recently the prices have skyrocketed and the quality is not any better. my burger was so dry and a little cold. The service is still great but the charm has changed. I miss the sports and old prices.

The ambience now that there are no TVs/sports playing and everything is dark with candles is not the same. The staff and service are amazing as always but the food and drink prices have increased without any obvious changes to the recipes. The food that was brought to me had gone off and I received a refund but it’s unfortunate that a pub that was so fun to frequent has become somewhere I won’t want to go to again.

Waited 1 hour 30 mins for food. Drinks very expensive. Lady opologised and gave a drink on the house, A gin and tonic £10 !

What used to be a pretty vibrant East End pub has been turned into another dime a dozen gastrobar eatery. The staff are amazing (still!) but what used to have a mix of locals, workers and students is now relatively dead. We visited on a Sunday and it was only a fifth full. There’s no longer any sport on tv, replaced by a repeating YouTube fireplace video with ads, the drinks have gone up and the food - although good - is now overpriced. Sadly though the building still has character it seems too have lost its community roots. Wasn’t many truly community pubs left and seems like another has gone.

What’s going on with this place, bar staff are so good yet now it’s empty. No students (as no incentive to come) prices gone up (fair enough), no sports, on TV, no more private functions, no nothing, atmosphere is now shot to pieces. New rules plastered all over the place. Beer also tastes different. I just don’t get it.

Very poor service, too many staff, all standing around on there mobile phones. Prices put up allot but have staff standing around? Maybe get rid of staff that are not needed and put prices back to what they were. Very poorly run. No food available too early in the day. Meant to be a restaurant/ bar??

Regular at the pub, made reservation and when arrived was told that they cancelled my reservation as the pub was full and they gave the table to other guests as they were very busy and did not want to turn guests away. Very disappointing

Good food for a pub, also nice and clean environment and great options of non-alcoholic beers. I can't give five stars due to the very loud music when I was there and the style of "hood" music.

Good place to hang out with friends, just close by to the University of East London

Having picked my wife up from work we decided to have dinner here while we waited for the rush hour traffic to thin out a bit. Parking here is very limited, but we were lucky, so I can't vouch for what the local on-road parking is like. The decor, furnishings and drinks menu are all par for the course. The service was quick and reasonably friendly. But what impressed me greatly was their food, it is just simply, very very good. We have been back since and will go here again. I think this bar needs a USP of some sort, be that some olde worlde charm, a more eclectic drinks menu, or just a play list that was less generic. But go for the food, everything else is OK it just won't excite you as much.

We visited for the first time and we love it. Delicious starter, we had fried halloumi and salted and pepper squid, for main course we had beef burgers and dessert we had chocolate fondant. 10 stars to the chef and everyone who was working to make our visit unforgettable. It was a cosy atmosphere and we highly recommend it.

I ordered king prawn starter with garlic & peri sauce and bread it stated on menu. There was no taste of garlic, sauce was just tomato & onion no garlic, no seasoning. Waste of £6. Atmosphere nice for early afternoon snack. Drinks snacks £££ discounts for students. Mostly workmen/ladies mostly men. And students Back venue was rented out, so had to wait a bit for food. Overall up to date music friendly staff. 😌 mixed people.

This is a FANTASTIC pub! I was viewing an apartment in the area & spotted Galyons. I walked in and was met with warm smiles (& beautiful people). I was impressed with the staff and their kindness & friendliness with every patron. Each person receives a tailored experience- depending on what they were in for, ordered, etc. I stayed for two hours & ended up ordering food and drinks. Filipe (a FANTASTIC HUMAN & he should own this place!!!!) was marking really helpful recommendations & being all around awesome! He made several of the beverages & they were all so tasty! I ordered dirty fries & BBQ wings & LOVED them both. I will be living in Kings Cross Area but I WILL return for the food and friendliness of this place!!! Make this a stop on your travel itinerary!!! Awesome prices, student deals, and VERY good food!!!

Beautifully positioned pub restaurant just oozing with Eastend character, Lively & vibrant with a great friendly atmosphere, Great choice of keenly priced food, well presented while tasting as good as it looked. Good honest friendly service and will definately be visiting this lovely establishment when we next venture to thos part of London

I am a kids bday party entertainer and had quite a lot of parties there in there private room to hire and it has been great, service is very good, drinks are extremely nice, and also very cool area to sit outside, highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay. We went for a drink but liked the place and stayed for dinner. The staff are very friendly, the outdoor space nice and welcoming, the prices are realistic. We were both with wheelchairs and they put a ramp for us for the one step at the entrance. They also have disabled toilet. Will go back definitely.

Cycled here tonight for dinner on a sunny evening. All of the staff were super nice. The food was really great, my partner had the chicken enchiladas and I had the vegan falafel. Both were excellent. Drinks were good too 😊 If you get a chance to stop by here absolutely do it.

Lively pub (at least it was when I was there on a Saturday evening), with a good atmosphere. As far as I can tell it's the only pub in an area where there is a lot of new development. I assume that it's survived from the days when the Dock were there, although it has clearly undergone a bug refurbishment. The building is interesting.

Great place to watch football but unfortunately there is annoying add on a side of the screen which keeps switching sides and they cannot get rid of it

This place allegedly serves food! We wouldn't know. One and a half hour wait with staff constantly assuring us the food was coming. Our 7 year old grandson fractious. Don't think the staff cared one jot otherwise they would have actually have checked. Finally when we said we wanted our money back. It was paid back without question. No apology no explanation.

Nice-looking pub with plenty of seating space. The service is good and the food quite nice, especially the skinny and sweet potato fries. Plenty of choices of meals but not many veggie options and only a vegan one amongst all the mains.

I would pass judgement however I didn’t receive any service whatsoever so I’m not sure what to complain about. In the staffs defence it was a Wednesday evening and there were at least 6 people in the venue. Still, wouldn’t have minded a drink instead of being totally ignored.

I enjoyed a simple lunch of a chicken and bacon wrap with chips in a beautiful Arts and Crafts building that was probably the last stop before Edwardians set sail for the Empire.

I live close by to this pub and the food is amazing! This place gets everything perfect every time. We’ve had Sunday roast, fish and chips, even salads, quesadillas, chips, it’s all amazing!!

Very friendly place with outside seating. The staff is always polite and helpful. We normally go for drinks but last week we ordered salmon with rice and Bbq spare ribs. The dishes were tasty although I would have liked it less cooked. The kitchen is not open Mondays and Tuesdays. Overall, very positive experience.

Staff were very friendly. They give student discounts to University of East London (UEL) students making the prices even more reasonable than they already were. I think that this place is pretty nice to have a few drinks, and the food isn't bad either.

We booked for a group of people yesterday 29th April for a stop off whilst walking the Capital Ring and it didn’t disappoint. Service and food was excellent, wish this was near enough for me to visit more regularly but will definetly call back next time we lead a walk in the area. Was excellent
